After a shopping trip in Chester with my mother and grandmother we found this lovely and friendly cafe and as it was beautiful weather we sat outside :) the staff were extremely helpful and we had a lovely meal . The jacket potato was amazing and I couldn’t fault them. Also had a fantastic milkshake ... :) be back soon so glad I found this little place :) ❤️

First of all I’d like to say how lovely the staff were here. This review does not reflect on how attentive and helpful the front of house and waiting staff were. But it’s purely how the food. We paid nigh on £20 for a poorly executed Croque Monsieur and Welsh rarebit. Croque Monsieur was a very average bacon and cheese toastie whilst the Welsh rarebit was one thin slice of tasteless cheese on toast. I’m not usually one for writing bad reviews but we felt like this place should offer a better quality of food if they are going to charge £6 for one slice of cheese on toast with a side salad. There’s a big market for cafe’s In Chester and £6 can get some great snacks but unfortunately this wasn’t one of them

The table was beautifully laid complete with table cloth. There was a really good selection of food including home made cakes and sweet plus savoury scones - delicious and well presented on a 3-tier cake stand. We had prosecco with coffee to follow. Courteous, attentive and friendly service. They even packed up the cake we couldn't finish to take home with us.

Great little find. Hidden away but well worth rooting out. Had sandwich and gluten-free scones, jam & cream with tea. Sounds simple but GF scones are not easy to make, especially to make well - these were excellent. Had two and bought two to go. Thanks!

We've been here before (see previous reviews). First place on the map when visiting Chester for lunch. Not any more, I'm afraid. Our latest experience was a really big let down. New (contracted) menu, increased prices, cheap ingredients...................Not the eating experience that we'd come to expect. Surprising really, due to the preponderance of other eateries nearby, & slightly further afield, in Chester. Maybe it's the English disease? You know, the one where the response to falling takings is to increase prices & cheapen everything else. Ultimate goal? One table per day at £1000 a pop? Job done. Really disappointed.

The Towers can be found in a small walkway just alongside the cathedral and from the outside this small restaurant is deceptive. Once inside the staff are very welcoming and provide a warm atmosphere with a good range of wholesome foods. Nothing too exotic but extremely good value for money. The food is home cooked and served by an excellent friendly staff

Just 20 yards along the City Walls away from the Eastgate Clock, the bustling crowds and overlooking the Cathedral is this lovely well maintained restaurant. We stopped for afternoon tea, with an excellent choice of teas and all cakes home made with TLC. Scones were very light and excellent with the jam and cream or cream and jam!! Will definitely return for lunch next time.

Shhhhh ! Please don't tell everyone how absolutely brilliant Towers is for lunch! On a Good Friday stroll around the Walls we saw the outdoor area and stopped for lunch and a beer - fantastic value, delightful staff and lovely food. A chilled Peroni was the perfect match with the Tuna Chilli Rarebit and so much nicer than any pub-grub. Manager / Staff could not have been more helpful, allowing us to access the terrace via the side gate with our gentle black lab who was also delighted with the staff filling his water bowl for him! This is now top of my list for any future visits to Chester - we will be back whenever we bring friends to the City for the day. I can see an afternoon Tea happening soon since we were too full from lunch to sample the exquisite-looking cakes! Please don't change a thing and let it remain a well-kept secret for those of us who have found you.

We were tipped off to visit this independent place by a local shopkeeper. Its located right by the Cathedral. We got a lovely friendly welcome and were shown to a table right away. We had coffee and real tea in a pot and a fabulous piece of lemon and white chocolate cake which i had to share with my wife. Obviously hand made and absolutely top drawer. Cost really reasonable and a class above the many chain coffee shops in every city. Will certainly revisit when in Chester. Well decorated interior and clean well kept toilets also.

Found this cafe while walking around the City Walls. We were fortunate enough to get a table outside in the April sun with a great view of the Cathedral. There's a long list of teas available on the menu and the cakes are good. Friendly and quick service.

When we visit Chester we always make it a point to have lunch here. Never disappointed. Excellently prepared & presented fresh fare. Clean & cosy surroundings. Pleasantly quiet. One gripe is the table service can be a little, hm, clattery, with plates arriving onto the table from quite a height, from one particular individual! Still, doesn't detract (for me) from an all round enjoyable experience, although it might for some. Needs addressing. pricing is attractive too, for a standard of fare that you can pay much more for. Once again, thoroughly recommended.

We've been here before when it was called Beatons. Both times have been first class events. Situated right next to the Cathedral (& Tower!), accessed by pathway. Fantastic selection of lunchtime meals & snack. Really, really fine & tasty food. Proper coffee, too. selection of teas, including home selection. All first class. Really recommended if you're in Chester - look it up. You won't be disappointed. Did I mention that it's all reasonably priced, too. Can't beat it. Would have got 5 stars for service had the young lady who served us, twice (we went back later for cakes & coffee), not been in a bit of a strop.

My husband had the full English breakfast and I had the Towers eggs Benedict. Both very good. I would have preferred my coffee served after, or even with my breakfast and a free 2nd cup would have been appreciated. My husband had a pot of (loose leaf) tea which gave him two cups and, apparently was very good.

After having a walk around the beautiful cathedral, we decided a hot chocolate and cake would be in order. Our order was taken quickly and our drinks came after about five minutes but no cake. After we had give up waiting and watched them serve other people, i went to chase it down. The guy who had served us must have been very busy because he didn’t have time to look at me or show any manners i simply got a yeah it’s coming. most of our hot chocolate later they came. We will be going to chester again but will happily avoid this establishment.

Walked past this place a couple of times and it’s always packed. Decided to stop for on a busy Saturday in December, so we were lucky to get a table. I had lovely homemade mushroom soup and the biggest piece of carrot cake. Very good value and good service.

Attractive tea room near the cathedral and city walls. Toilets very good. The only problem was the food, as we obviously caught them on a bad day, judging by the above comments. The tea was good and there is a good selection. We had Japanese green tea.

We came here after a walk around the Chester walls a few days ago and although busy we were still greeted by pleasant and attentive staff. Stumbled on this wonderful cafe as we were on our way home from a camping trip. The staff are incredibly friendly and were so welcoming and kind to my 5yo daughter. The food was amazing, we both had the breakfast and my daughter had a lunch box which she loved and I thought it was great value, when we went inside to pay we couldn't not buy one (or two) of the amazing cakes. So delicious. Thank you :)

Attended Saturday night quiz. Arrived at 7:00pm. Started with a glass of red wine and Mediterranean platter followed by a to die for cheesecake( all food freshly cooked by Jason ( chef ) and the team. Wolfed the cheese cake down and realised I hadn't took a picture. Had a few more vino's during the quiz along with some banter with Jason and the regular customers. All tables were booked and nice to see a full house. Made a change to the average Saturday night and will certainly do it again. Would recommend to call in prior for some brekky or lunch to book quiz any day before or on Saturday. Quiz moved on quicker than your normal pub quiz which was great with the light banter and no typical interruptions from pub scene. Didn't win the quiz but enjoyed trying.

Our favourite place to come for brunch after football. The team, as always, went above and beyond with the orders for our family (all with different dietary requirements). The boys had the classic big breakfast with local products at a great price. I tried the weekend special eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The boys filled their boots. The girls enjoyed new things. The doorstop toast alone is worth the visit. Sadly, no room for my favourite one the menu - parsnip cake, but the cake-away option meant I could enjoy it later. We brought a friend for their first visit and she was blown away.

We visited with elderly inlaws on 31 July. A highpoint was going to be the cafe. Unfortunately there were no signs to tell us the cafe was closed until we got to the door. By then the inlaws were v tired and needed to sit down with a cup of tea etc. We had to drive back into Frodsham to find somewhere. Such a shame. More notices would help.
