Visited for set menu dinner, food was uninspiring and uneventful yet very expensive for what it is. For the price, an expectation of high quality ingredients and imaginative recipes expected neither were delivered. A better experience may be enjoyed from a high street chain. Not recommended

Last night we dined at this beautiful family Italian restaurant. The food was spectacular, The portion sizes were perfect, I can't recommend this seasons tasting menu enough. The best lasagne (family, nanas recipe) I have ever tasted. The other dishes were equally exceptional. If you like fine wine too, this little restaurant is the place to visit. The booking process is simple, the restaurant is very well managed. The service was flawless 😍 We most certainly will visit again and 💯 recommend to family and friends. Thank you for a lovely time x

What a great Easter lunch we had today. Fine food is an understament! We couldn't have felt more at home, in every possible way. But the food is the real highlight! Valentina is a star: had the privilege to watch her from my seat, preparing and finishing the dishes we were going to savour. A joy for the eyes ahead of the palate. Our new favourite place in Chester!

The loveliest Italian food in the heart of Chester. Sorry, the finest Italian food.And a great family restaurant that feels cosy and intimate and serves the finest Italian cuisine. We couldn’t recommend this restaurant more.

I’m rating this restaurant against fine dining Standards. The Tuna starter was fantastic and the stand out course of the meal. The steak, which I had for the main was a nice piece of meat and the flavours of the dish all complimented each other. This is one of the best restaurants in Chester. Taking into account there are only a few half decent restaurants left in Chester. The dining area is cosy and tables are in close proximity to one another. If you were a few bottles of wine in you would have to watch your decibel level so not to disturb other diners.

Found the food disappointing, very mediocre considering the great reviews and price of the tasting menu and wines. Atmosphere very underwhelming.

Taster menu excellent. We have been a few times, and on both occasions, our expectations have been exceeded. Menu and pics attached. As I'm none meat, they made some great alterations. We had a bottle of Prosecco, so we didn't do any wine pairing. Service was polite, with each course getting an explanation of the delightful flavours.

We went for lunch and it was a brilliant experience that felt really individual. The waitress was incredibly friendly and clear in her explanations and the manager was very cheery and made us feel right at home. They recommend that vegetarians give advance notice - unfortunately I didn't realise this, but they were quick to accommodate and I had a gorgeous parmesan flan while my partner had venison. The food is exquisite. So well thought through and all of the textures and flavours compliment each other perfectly. It really felt like a lot of love for Italy went into this food. We didn't have the wine float but the beer choices are delicious (though I did drink with care for fear of ruining my taste buds!) The chef and manager said good bye to each of us at last serving which was a lovely touch. Summary: great place for veggies and we left feeling very full / like we'd had a really romantic date.

Absolutely amazing, food was delicious. Service was great and the food came quickly. Best restaurant I've ever been to.

I really had high expectations for this place. However, they completely ruined my 2 year anniversary. I have held off to review this place in order to calm down. However unfortunately that will never happen. We went for the tasting menu, with tasting wines. After 3 courses decided to leave, after being served the same desert wine with the 2nd 2 courses, that were absolutely disgusting. I would have sat through the rest of it. Only the chef came banging on the one toilet door, in an extremely aggressive manner, for my husband to get out, after he’d not even men able to un zip his trousers to even have a wee. It was so rude, so abusive, so absurd. That I felt like going mental. We ended up spending £100 on the most tasteless, disgusting food. I also find it disgusting the chef uses the same loo, as the diners. She also needs to calm down, as her aggression and fire, is not reflected in her cooking. She certainly isn’t good enough to be treated in such a disrespectful manner!!

Excellant food with an even better classic wine tasting, and the service was both light and very enjoyable. A definite recommendation

The most authentic Italian experience you can find outside of Italy. Da Noi is possibly the most delicious Italian food I have ever had in the UK since I moved here back in 2009. This is a place where the owners run the whole business and everything they do is with pride, passion and love - just like high quality family-run restaurants in Italy. Now, let's get to the food and drinks! I started off with a gigantic home-made light and thin pasta raviolo filled with ricotta cheese and an egg yolk that explodes out when cut in half - finished with a porcini mushrooms sauce and truffle oil. The aroma of the porcini and truffle mixed wonderfully with the creaminess of the yolk and the delicious pasta filling. Be aware, you can even order this as a MAIN!!! Together with my starter I ordered a white floral wine from Piemonte called Baratuciat... one word: divine. As a main, I ordered the venison cooked medium rare - juicy and tender as it should be, together with a light almond sauce and dauphinoise. Once again, I followed the instructions and gone with the pairing choice, a fruity Barbaresco that enhanced all the flavours on the plate. Amazing. Of course, I had to try a dessert too, so I went for the super traditional Piemontese pudding called Bunet - a sort of creme caramel hyped up with coca and amaretti biscuits. Again, hats off. My friend had the same dishes except for the main where he opted for the incredibly succulent and aromatic pheasant. At the end, while sipping an espresso in truly Italian-fashion, we had the pleasure to spend some time with owners Valentina, who is the genius mastermind behind the food menu, and Fabrizio, who is incredibly charming and knowledgeable when choosing the wines. Ate here for the summer tasting menu and thought it was fabulous. The ox cheek was outstanding!

Very quiet inside and lacking atmosphere or ambience on a Friday night. The food was very much hit and miss. Some dishes had no seasoning whatsoever (Il Benvenuto, for example), and as such tasted bland - the natural flavours of the food were infinitesimal, and it was terribly plain. Others were entirely oversalted and inedible (such as Il Canolicchi). We could not finish this dish. For the fifth course, two of our pasta servings arrived hot, yet the other two were ice cold. We all agreed that the Ox Cheek was delicious, but simultaneously couldn’t stand the deconstructed Tiramisu, within which the biscuit was incredibly, incredibly stale. The beef tartare was unseasoned and looked like ground beef. I’m sure it was premium quality but it looked like a burger patty on a plate. It was served with a very large dollop of mustard gelato which overwhelmed the flavour of the meat entirely. I could go on, but won’t as I think what I’ve said captures the gist. The wine was interesting. Two of us chose the classic wine flight and two chose the premium. The premium wines were all very dry and rich, excluding the dessert wine, and the classic wines leant more light, floral and sweet. There was no indication as to why each wine was chosen for each meal, as the flavours were so different when comparing the premium and classic flights. We all preferred the classic wine flight, which was surprising. Onto service - again, hit and miss. The tall waitress/server with dark hair was simply fantastic, so knowledgeable and helpful. The other waitress/server with blonde hair, however, was the opposite. After some time she stopped explaining what the dishes were and what the wine was. We had to ask the other waitress what we were eating and drinking. It was odd that a few courses into the meal, the blonde waitress stopped telling us what was put before us. For £670, it was unfortunately underwhelming. To put the cherry on the cake, the chef left the restaurant in her home clothes with a big “goodbye!” whilst multiple tables were still seated. That was something we haven’t seen before. We then felt rushed to leave. In summary, some food was great, some terrible. Some wine great, some terrible. Some service great, some terrible. It truly was a mixed bag… and for the price, we won’t be returning.

A sensational lunch today our first visit. Relaxed atmosphere, intimate venue, superb food an explosion of colour and taste and last but by no means least fabulous, friendly, knowledgeable front of house staff. And great wine accompanying every course. It was a treat for us and we’ll never forget it, thank you.

We visited Da noi this afternoon for the 3 course tasting menu with Wine flight and it was absolutely amazing! The food was unbelievable , pretty on the plate and the wine paired perfectly. The service was also impeccable. Hands down the best place we’ve eaten in Chester.

Wonderful dining experience. We all had the wine flight along with the 3 course lunch. Each individual dish was carefully constructed, and the flavors were beautiful to the taste. Our server, Gretta, was a delight and equally as patient with our 1 year old guest😊 Our lunch experience was so great, now looking forward to dinner!!!🍽

If you are a food lover you need to visit this place. The taster menu was outstanding and the wine pairings were fantastic. The service was the perfect balance of friendly and professional and its clear the husband and wife team are passionate about what they do. We do not live in Chester but will arrange another over night stay just so we can eat here again.

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch on Sunday at Da Noi in Chester. Firstly, the menu itself is exciting with creative dishes using some lesser known ingredients. We devoured every dish as everything was perfectly cooked and the combination of flavours, colours and textures was faultless. I chose the mini wine pairing and loved trying some new wines that I wouldn’t have known to choose myself. Service from Sam was top notch- he was so friendly and welcoming as well as being extremely knowledgeable about the food and drinks. And all this for a very reasonable price. I’d 100% recommend Da Noi to anyone and we’ll definitely be back.

My husband and I dined here last night. The service was great, very friendly and knowledgeable, particularly when recommending the wine pairings. The food was lovely, I had the potato veloutte to start, wow what amazing flavours and then the ravioli which was also fantastic. My husband had the beef tartare and pheasant and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a little taste of his and thought it was gorgeous. Overall, I'd definitely go back and recommend. This is a fantastic little restaurant with great service and my hats off to the chef.

Simply looking for somewhere to eat this was something of a last-minute emergency booking - and really glad we got a cancellation! Turned out to be a very interesting evening. As a keen (but amateur!) cook myself it was a delight to find such an interesting menu to sample. The staff were really very helpful answering the questions I had relating to the meal and it certainly gave me some new ideas to try out at home too! So nice to have something other than your "boring standard Italian" fare. I arrived with some doubts - I left totally convinced! Will definitely be back when next in the area! Well done to the entire team and thanks for a great evening!!!!

One of the hidden gems in Chester. With a very compact seating number, each plate gets exceptional attention. Apart from the friendliest staff ever, the confidence and creativity of the kitchen and front of the house staff can't be presented any more perfectly than it is being presented already. Server Sam was an absolute sweetheart to very politely walk the guests through each and every menu item, guiding the guest rediscover their palette and help choose what's best for them. I could see Chef Valentina's passion and science about flavours phenomenally laid out in every dish I had and the wine it was hand picked to be paired with. After service, Chef Valentina personally and very humbly greeted every table, every guest to check their liking of this experience. With one of the marvelous hand crafted menu and a memorable experience offered at a reasonable pricing, Da Noi has to be the most valuable and highly recommend dining experience. I will be visiting again, hungry for more.

Outstanding. The best food I’ve ever tried, I was honestly blown away. We came to Chester for my Birthday for a couple of nights and booked this restaurant after hearing so many good things and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection. I loved how attentive our waiter was and how he took the time to talk us through every single dish. Our waiter even gave us recommendations of where to go for drinks in the evening. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

My mum was visiting our new house and we wanted to take her somewhere different for dinner and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent throughout and we all chose something different - every dish was delicious (I tried them all 🙃). The accompanying wines were just right too - we’ll be back soon to try the next menu, thank you!!

Visited last evening. Im impressed; a lot of effort is put in to ensuring an excellent quality of dining experience. All the food was excellent. Menu was a breath of fresh air, offering food which is not found in most other restaurants. Staff were also attentive while being friendly. The restaurant and experience has got this homie feeling to it, so not too fancy, just a top quality experience. When around Chester, I would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone in the area.

Had lunch there recently. It’s a small restaurant stylishly understated and elegant. I had ravioli with truffle oil for a starter: excellent. Recommended wine beautifully paired. For main dish cod loin: cooked to perfection. Wow. Again the wine pairing suggested was excellent. I had the frangipani for dessert: superb. I have travelled in Italy a lot and this restaurant is authentic. Don’t go expecting quantity but the QUALITY will not disappoint. Dined with a friend: will be taking my wife there soon. Excellent service and amazing food! Went to Da Noi to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we absolutely enjoyed the meal we had. Pretty difficult to pick a favourite dish, but the creamed cod and the venison were both delicious. The service was super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend

I have wanted to go here for a while so went last night. Feels very foodie when you arrive and small number of tables. I left very disappointed. Starter had ravioli - arrived and looked like something you would have for breakfast with a large piece of ravioli, egg and some bacon bits on the side. Very simple food. Main had the steak and ratatouille - it was dry and lacked flavour, needed a sauce or something to go with it. Beef fat wasn’t fully rendered or trimmed. I asked for salt twice to no avail. Had a chocolate tart for desert and left half of it, it lacked any depth of chocolate. We had an Italian wine as that was all that was served and it was very cheap quality - we didn’t even finish the bottle. Asked for water and was served bottled to push the price up. I don’t normally leave reviews but found this restaurant to be overlay pretentious with very bland food that lacked flavour. If you are into your food and like flavour then one to avoid. Also noted that our waiter was on his first shift on a sat night. He hadn’t tasted any food on the menu and hadn’t had any training on the wine menu - felt for him.

One of the best restaurants we have even been to!! I took my boyfriend and parents here for lunch and it was absolutely fabulous. The food was so fresh and delicious and the staff were so attentive, passionate and friendly. We will definitely recommend this to friends and other family members and we ourselves will definitely be coming here again very soon.

Enjoyed a fine dining experience. My starter was guinea fowl with finely sliced carrots , celery and raisins . Suggested wines are listed against each item on the menu and whilst they seem counter intuitive ( a red Barbera Athena with fowl ) they work perfectly well. Mains were a fillet of seabass with vegetables and olives baked in grease proof paper accompanied by the suggested Nascetta , an amazing wine with a rich golden colour , floral notes , apple , and honey . Perfect with seabass. Dessert was a twist on brûlée, it being presented on a base of pasta frolla , making it a tart . Not one bit heavy and a succulent creamy brûlée not over sugared and caramelised delicately. Very nice owners who are happy to meet their customers . Everyone else in their was a regular except us . Will be going back for the cheese board and autumn winter menu . 🫶🏻

We went with Chef's recommendation for our starter and main and paired with wines, we then couldn't resist a sweet after our host spoke so lovingly about this being his favourite pudding made by his grandmother 🥰 This is what actual Italian food should taste like, fresh wonderful ingredients and a large dollop of passion. What a great experience! We were looking for a nice place for dinner and found the perfect Italian restaurant. Eating at Da Noi means eating authentical Italian food from the northern region of Italy, presented in a modern way, beautiful arranged. The owner was very welcoming, even though we've had a bigger dog with us. The waiter was very polite, cordial and considerate. Even though the restaurant is close to the historic center, it is not a typical one for those kind of areas, but stands out. Thank you again for having us!!

This small traditional Italian restaurant is amazing from the pleasant and efficient server to absolutely fantastic food great set menu with additional wine flight is an absolute must to visit if you want authentic beautifully cooked Italian food please do not expect pizzas etc this is fine dining at its best reasonably priced just a little gem.Would advise booking.

A truly amazing experience I have travelled across Italy extensively and have close Italian chiefs but I have never had an experience which was so amazing, food better than the food I have had at the Fat Duck or top restaurant in London. A must visit if you are in Chester!

Probably the worst experience from an expensive restaurant I've ever had. Table not ready..... No apology when we we were called to say table ready, we had to go to a local bar and buy drinks we didn't really want. Cod cheek and chickpea bland not that hot either but by now I was hungry! Main, duck ravioli, just warm and cold around the edges. Sent it back - no apology. The "owner" didn't once come to us despite this. Waitress recommended the £97 bottle of wine....the most expensive wine on the menu! What a joke.... I had been so looking forward to dining here...... Extremely underwhelming.

Simply delicious food. Dined here by myself on a whim, and was delighted with how good the food (Winter menu) was. The waitress on duty was lovely and very helpful, and the owner made pleasant conversation with the other diners (just not with me, presumably out of awkwardness 😅) I'd definitely recommend Da Noi Chester and would happily go again to try their Spring menu.

The atmosphere, the staff, the wine selection were 100% superb! But I was not a huge fan of the food, specially considering the price and portion sizes. I had the egg yolk raviolo, a roast onion stuffed with sausage and cheese (starters) and duck ravioli (main), and there was just something missing in all of them. The best one was the cheesy onion.

Superb authentic northern Italian cuisine. No pizzas on menu, tells you that this is a special culinary experience. Each plate is carefully prepared to give a unique taste & appreciation. Wines excellent accompaniment, at a reasonable price. Look forward to summer menu

Da Noi has got to be one of (if not THE) best restaurants in Chester! Tonight was our second time visiting and honestly, it's just outstanding. The food is exceptionally good, the staff are lovely and the ambiance is really romantic. We decided to go all out and ordered the cod cheeks starter, the duck ravioli (the manager suggested we experience different pasta courses as originally we both were going to order exactly the same and what an awesome recommendation that was!) and maccharoni (SO unbelievably good! just mind blowingly delicious!) and the pheasant secondi. we had pairing wines with each course but because we had ordered the same dishes as each other etc the manager picked alternate wines so we could taste 2 different wines with each course and they were generous pours! if you are a foody and like seasonal, fresh, high end Italian then Da Noi is your place! we love eating out around chester (our main hobby to be honest) and honestly I think Da Noi is the best restaurant in Chester. Can't rate it enough, excellent food, amazing staff and fabulous wine!

This restaurant is a different universe. Italian for the connoisseur. Specially selected menu for the season based on Turin foods and Northern Italy. The waiter is part of the experience as he will take you through the concept of the food. The wine is selected as a complement to each course. Of course you can go your own way but why take a guided tour and pick your own when there is a better option available. I picked the sausage as a starter. Nothing resembles a traditional sausage but sausage meat cooked inside a full onion. Such flavour. Such a delight. Main course was Pheasant beautifully done with a sauce that added to the experience. Well you have to try the dessert. Chef was originally a cake and pastry specialist apparently. Strudel. Unbelievably sublime. All the food was a delight. Try the Turin speciality coffee. It's not latte. It's not espresso. It is liqueur based coffee and is outstanding. The restaurant is not for everyone. No lasagne. No pizza. Definitely no regular price but it is a special experience and certainly worth treating yourself and a special one to. Can't recommend it highly enough. Of course the service matches the food. Quality. Even the new starter was more proficient than most waitresses with a few hours training

Excellent authentic Italian restaurant! No similar experiences of genuine Italian fine dining in the north west of England. The excellence in produce choices and cooking craft from Chef Valentina, married with the passion and care of the front of house and husband Fabrizio, result in a wonderful dining experience! Really well done!!

A top class dining experience. The venue and service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Next time I’ll make sure I allow more time for lunch so I can sample some of the wines, which are recommended with each dish for each course. This is a gem, which I recommend to anyone who likes top quality, authentic Italian food.

Table wasn’t available at allotted time and we were told to wait outside for 5 minutes in the rain. My fellow diners meals were fine but my beef fillet was well done despite being advertised as M/R. When I sent it back , the owner insisted it was M/R and I’d only cut off a small piece on the side. I’m a big guy and had cut off what I consider to be a bite sized piece. If a bite sized piece is not M/R then in my limited experience of eating steaks for 40 years, the fillet is not M/R. After some discussion it was agreed a new fillet would be cooked. Meanwhile my fellow diners were served their meals. After 30 minutes of waiting for my meal and realising that the direct approach of telling them what was wrong was not producing my meal, one of my party went to have private diplomatic word with the owner. He was very unsympathetic and just said it took 40 minutes to prepare. Eventually my meal showed up but we were feeling so intimidated by the staff that I ate it quickly and we decided not to order dessert and instead pay and leave. In my opinion Two points that the owners have got wrong:- 1. Do not argue with the customer. Either accept the problem or suggest an alternative 2. Make it clear that once a course of action has been decided what the time delay would be. All in all the owners attitude spoilt our evening out.

Excellent cooking of authentic Italian dishes. Let down by the tiny restaurant and lack of reception space/bar. If your table isn't ready it feels awkward and embarrassing and in winter a walk isn't always an option. The cooking is of a high standard and the wine list reasonable. Try the Bicerin after dinner. We managed a starter, shared a pasta dish and still had main and dessert.

Im not one to leave reviews but I would hate others to select da noi expecting michelin quality and high service. The owner was nice and welcoming, but the waiter was extremely pushy with trying to advise us what to choose. Even after selecting our choices he tried to make us change to what he thought we should be eating, it felt like he was extremely patronising. The service felt extremely rushed in a place we wanted to enjoy as we were celebrating an engagement and birthday. We ate starters and main within 40 minutes, supplemented by a bottle of wine. The waiter then gave us the desert menu. As nothing took our fancy we explained that we wanted to relax with the remaining half bottle of wine. However within a minute of declining the desert the waiter asked us to leave as our table was needed. It's not as if we had been here long, infact we were taken back at how quick our meals were provided and as they were delicate we consumed them quickly. To top off our fine dining experience on the table to our side was a gentleman watching moto gp on his ipad. Ultimately Da noi lacked any wow factor, had ok food but wasn't reflective of the cost charged, and had extremely poor customer service. In hindsight It was more of a casual place than somewhere to go and celebrate and I wish we had chosen a different restraunt to celebrate. Edit- I wish I had read similiar negative reviews which also advise of the patronising service and food choices.

Fantastic food and intimate ambience

Superb food, high end quality and imaginative lunch menu. A definite step above a traditional Italian. Service very professional. Desert was the best thing I have eaten.

Really tasty, friendly staff, lovely cosy atmosphere

One of mine and the wife's favourite places to go and have a romantic meal together. Would give it a 6* rating if I could. Definitely the best Italian restaurant in Chester by miles. ❤️❤️

Superb: excellent food, very good matched wines, intimate atmosphere and great service. The owners are clearly passionate about shining a spotlight on Piedmont cuisine and they do it brilliantly.

Well priced 3 course lunch menu, that had some great twists on dishes. There for the final day of the summer menu, and particularly enjoyed the lamb with wild berries, vanilla puree and hazlenut crumbs. Not a combination I ever would have put together, but it worked perfectly, and probably why chef Valentina earned a Michelin star

Food was nice. Portion was on the small end. Service was clinical. Choice of food is quite limited.

Wonderful restaurant extremely professional staff and the owners were very hospitable and that's even before we tried the food and it's probably one of the nicest restaurants we have visited the food is delicious
