Just had the most wonderful birthday meal with friends at Astley Bank...we dined in the shorrock room having taken drinks in the lounge listening to the excellent pianist... menus were delivered perused and we all ordered a great selection of starters,mains,and deserts.every single course was devoured with vigor..as always the presentation of all dishes was excellent.the quality of ingredients is exceptional,and for the price it's outstanding.service from all the staff was as always friendly, professional,top notch..(thank you Bill for looking after us ) once again thank you all at Astley Bank you never fail to give us a great dining experience....see you soon.x

Food make good but service is most worst in the world 🌎 😫 them got hair every where in Food 6 times been there all 6 Times chuck out all Food in bin so disgusting so even not want talk them shut put mask on them face and wear gloves maybe that helps but for now i spend about 250£all in bin.long hard hair from hand our from face!!!!!be careful when going there!!!

We have been having takeaways from Abdul at Shad House for over 12 years now and have never been disappointed!! The food is wonderful, nicely prepared and packaged, the flavours superb. It's been especially challenging for the Shad House team with our diverse tastes - my wife has extra, extra, mild korma and I have jalfrezi with extra green chillies! Nonetheless, Shad House has consistently delivered and always with politeness and a smile! Long may it continue!

Tastefully repurposed (As Spoons often do). From a former galleried chapel to a thriving pub. Definitely a busy hub in the centre of Darwen. Fab fish n' chips. And other pub favourites. Beer a plenty, plus every tipple known to man. Highly recommended 👌

Extremely friendly staff, food was delicious

We visited this eatery after leaving another local restaurant due to bad service and what a lovely greeting we got from the owner and shown directly to our table. The owner asked if we had been before and when we replied no he explained how the service operated. He informed us as to the set charge as the tapas is all you can eat for a very reasonable set price. We tried just about everything on the menu and it was all cooked and prepared beautifully. Very nice place with very nice staff.

Good location and good restaurant downstairs

I booked this very last minute on the day with the Date package that included accommodation, dinner and breakfast. To be honest, this package was what swayed me as I was limited on time in arranging anything so this was perfect for my last minute plan - and it was absolutely worth it! It was my partners birthday and we decided we would go away for the evening. Since it was very last minute I needed to also book dinner and also arrange birthday dessert. I couldn’t get through to the hotel as something was wrong with the phone line however, there was a chat function that Natalie responded me and was able to inform me that table is booked but no candle. This gave me time to run out and get one before we left. Natalie later gave me a call to run over a few things which im very grateful for. This place has plenty of parking and we had such a friendly welcome. As we checked in late, we made our food order at reception so we could drop off our bags to our room (which was the modern rooms with very comfy beds and very spacious). The food at dinner was incredible - the pate, steak, the fish cakes and service was great. When they brought our dessert with the candle, my partners face was shocked. We had a few gin & tonics and was able to pop into the distillery which is fantastic. We had more drinks at the bar before calling it a night. Next time we will be doing the gin class for sure. Breakfast was great. I can’t comment much on the location as I didn’t really see the area but the hotel appears on the maps and has ample of free parking in site. The staff here are super friendly, great service and really made our stay memorable . The hotel is currently under refurbishment but I’m looking forward to staying again when it’s all done. The hotel locks its doors at 11pm - 8am . This was fine for us as we were eating and staying at the hotel. This helps us knowing we can sleep in peace and no late night wanderers going to the wrong room etc. Thank you Natalie, Lottie and Blake for a memorable stay and look forward to staying with you again

I was in store on friday 11th October around 6:30pm and can’t praise the staff enough! We ordered our drinks served by a lovely lady. My husband accidentally dropped the tray of 4 hot drinks! The staff came to our aid straight away and were so kind and understanding as he was very embarrassed after making such a mess! The gentleman working made our order again whilst the lady cleared away the mess and was adamant in a kind way that we didn’t need to help! Drinks were as delicious as always. Super nice and kind staff an absolute credit to Costa ☺️

I haven't given a star value for food because I didn't eat there. This is a very nice pub. Staff are friendly and even though the place was full, got to us quickly. I had IPA which was very nice. Will defo pay another visit in the future.

For so long I've craved good fish and chips, we decided to check out Bamboo House and we weren't disappointed. Coming out with the food, I said to the hubby, if this is as good as it looks, after the service we've just had then that is a killer combination. Will definitely be returning and checking out the Chinese menu for full clarification. We've found our fave takeaway 😀

Food was just ok, ordered mixed starter and 2 mains not worth the money I’m afraid

I was told by a friend to eat from here .I ordered sesame prawn on toast ,chicken chow mein , honey and chilli wings and crispy chicken with sweet chilli sauce The food is amazing 🤩.

Best pizza takeaway in Darwen, they never get an order wrong no matter how complicated it is. Always good delivery and the pizza is always so tasty and no bad stomach the next day.
