Food really nice , eat as many tapas dishes as you want , nice relaxed atmosphere ,

Definitely not as good as it was before it became a tapas place in terms of food, service and atmosphere... if you're a veggie then it's limited choice and the portions really are tiny so order the max amount each time. But ok in general. I would go back.

We took our Year 6 class (30 children) here for their leaving treat. We have done this quite a few times over the years but not the last two years. Everything went well until we got the bill. They had added on £60 for cordial on the tables. We asked for a jug of cordial on each table then once that was gone asked them to serve water. They charged us £30 then added an extra £30 for more jugs. We said we hadn’t asked for this and the gentleman in charge said ‘The children are my customers so I did what they wanted’. I reminded him we were a school that had booked it and ordered everything so clearly we would continue to be in charge of ordering. He continued to argue that the children asked for more so he did what they said rather than what we’d asked! He EVENTUALLY agreed to take the £30 extra off. It wasn’t a good experience and with all the children having a nice night it left quite a sour note. We have often had staff Christmas parties here and the last time things had gone downhill. We will definitely not be returning. It is a shame he has such a bad attitude towards local schools.

I returned here following a business meal some six months ago. I took my wife for what should have been an enjoyable evening, it was not. A number of the dishes are not as described. Home made bread with extra virgin olive oil was supermarket baguette with colourless neutral oil. I know my olive oil and this was not. No back taste, no fruit, no pepper. When I challenged the owner he was defensive and tried to dismiss that retail oil is different. Rubbish. The selection of Spanish meats was half a slice each of chorizo, unidentified salami and insipid English ham. No Serrano or iberico cured ham. Any restaurant that takes the trouble to cut wafer thin slice of charcuterie in half is questionable. Bruschetta was too wet soaking the toasted slice of baguette to a soggy mess. Chicken wings with garlic and chilli was dry and served with a squirt of shop bought bbq sauce. Not very Spanish and not as described. The best dish was the lamb casserole which was very tasty. Unfortunately, this evening's representation of tapas is an insult to the wonderful cuisine of Spain. There was no attempt to dress any of the cold plates with mixed leaves or salad variety, just torn iceberg lettuce. Needless to say we will not be returning. Our £60 could have been better spent at Lidl with a couple of hours in the kitchen and a couple of bottles of rioja. Sorry guys but you really do need to up your game. One positive is that the waiting staff were spot on with friendly quick service. Thank you for that.

Lovely Tapas restaurant, very authentic atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Staff are friendly and efficient as is the service, though at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon it was quiet, with clientele building up as the tome went on. Food was fabulous, and so much to choose from, we followed the recommendation of selecting 3 dishes at a time and it worked well. Was stuffed by the time we finished. And had managed to get through all that was on offer, so there's only one thing to do...go back, which is what we intend to do. A good selection of desserts to and the vanilla ice cream was amazing, I'd definitely recommend everyone try it on their visit, i also had tiramisu and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Most of the food was really yummy. I'm doing keto at the moment but there was plenty of choice for me, even without the carbs! The ribs and prawns were the best for me. I do think putting a single mussel in a dish is a bit too lean, and my chicken was too touch, but there was loads of really good stuff. The service was perfect, they got everything right and out quickly.

Great food. Friendly staff. Made room for me and my two children on a busy Saturday evening. Shout out to Gaz. Would highly recommend.

Went tonight for Valentine’s Day just me and the wife. Reserved a table for 7:30pm. Service was top notch led straight to our table and ordered drinks. Food was bang on portions just perfect size and all you can eat with a large menu of both Spanish and Italian dishes. Never waited longer than a few minutes for next round of food and always served with a smile. Highly recommend and will definitely be going again. Made mine and my wife’s valentines date night perfect

Serving all you can eat tapas, the restaurant recommends you order 4 dishes per person at a time. The dishes are mini and smaller than usual tapas but the super efficient waitress comes to take your next order as soon as you are done. You can either order more of the same or try other dishes, there is plenty to choose from. Like most tapas restaurants some dishes are better than others but for the price I would say the standard is high. We went on a busy Saturday night, staff were very friendly and I was surprised how slick and smooth the service was. Price for 3 including a round of cocktails and 2 bottles of red £135. We ate a lot. Really good, I will be back.

Been for many tapas and I found Mangiamo's had a small menu compared to others. We eat low carbs so limited again. I know tapas are small dishes but these were extremely small. Tempura batter was very oily and soggy. Fish were undercooked I like the new chairs in the restaurant, they were desperately needed, hated the others. The cocktails were good, love mojito but that one was missing brown sugar. Pina colada was the best one we tried. We won't return, think we just prefer a proper meal.

Fabulous Christmas lunch, thank you Mangiamos

Went for a meal with friends to celebrate friendship and exchange Christmas gifts. The starter was good I had Pate. The main- Turkey roast didn’t look very appetising, the turkey, Brussels, pig in blanket was swimming in thin gravy. It was cold. I asked for it to be reheated, with no gravy on the plate, but to be placed in separate bowl. It came back, but by then it had lost its appeal to me. Turkey was chewy, gravy was runny. Desert- Cheesecake was not presented nicely, looked like slop. The atmosphere was lovely, singer was brilliant. Just a shame about the food. I did ask for something to be knocked off my bill, but the manager was a little disgruntled Sad to say I will not be visiting again

There were no downstairs/disabled toilets so I asked if I could use the staff one's but I was told no.I normally use a wheelchair but it was too crowded so I had to walk with the help of a friend to a neighbouring restaurant.The second time I was given a very painful fireman's lift,but then I had to go outside.After which,at about 9.30 I stopped drinking.This must be discrimination against the disabled.I want to pre-warn any other disabled people about the bathroom situation

Update. I can't remember how many times we've been here since my review years ago. This place never disappoints. We love it. Food is delicious and plentiful. Service is superb. Love it. Extremely highly recommended. Had a lovely evening with my oldest friend. First round of dishes were too small for my liking but they did get bigger. Lots to choose from. We were also offered clean plates and cutlery mid meal which was a nice touch. The food was delicious and the service very attentive. Highly recommended.

Went for our grandsons first birthday. There were 15 of us. The service was very good and the food more than adequate for the £14 Pirmasens head for all you can eat tapas. All in all a good night out, they were very accommodating and even let us all setup individual tabs for drinks. Would go again. Did have to request they didn’t photo us for their social media pages due to young children being present. But that’s standard for these kind of places.

Service was excellent, young female server was professional/friendly and so were the gentlemen who came to the table. The food was honestly average, seemed like it lacked flavour on most dishes. The selection and portions were decent but again the taste and flavours were lacking. Overall I’d give it 3.5 stars.

Wonderful afternoon / evening for my husbands big birthday. 40 of us were accommodated with ease, courtesy, professionalism. The food was lovely, so much choice, the service was excellent, staff so friendly & polite, and nobody was kept waiting. There were no problems with the drinks service at all. We were all welcomed with open arms, including the children. Cannot fault anything at all. And I can honestly say that we were 40 very happy and satisfied customers. Thank you Mangiamo Tapas, you were all amazing 😊😊

Paid a visit here tonight with my husband as our date night the menu is amazing but not as amazing as the food and the staff are so lovely 😊 I really enjoyed my tapas and will most definitely be returning. I went to mangiamos with 3 friends. When asking for a table, the waitress seemed dissatisfied to give us a table, and reluctantly took us to our table. We ordered our drinks, no qualms with the drinks. 20 pound per head for unlimited tapas - the tapas was all microwaved and tiny portions. I appreciate tapas is small portions, but these were minuscule. The staff were attentive to the table, but when they weren’t serving us, they were giving begrudging looks. The food was piping hot and came out in 30 seconds, clearly microwaved with no flavour. In summary, poor atmosphere, poor microwaved food, and a £110 pound bill for the meal and 1 drink each. But hey ho, at least we got a free mint… which were also poor

Went for dinner on a Friday night, loved the tapas! Portion sizes seemed a little small at first but actually it was perfect as we got to try more dishes, and enjoyed all of them! Everything was cooked perfectly, and the sangria was one of the best we've had in a restaurant. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive, it was a shame there weren't more people in to enjoy it, I'd love to come back next time I'm in Darwen.

Fantastic meal this evening. After reading the 'Marmite-style' reviews I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. Working away during the week means I have to go into restaurants and ask for a table for 1, but the staff were very welcoming and gave me an option of tables too which isn't usually the case. The restaurant sensibly requests that you order a max of 3 or 4 dishes at a time to avoid wastage, and I was very impressed at how quickly they came out. The food was hot, delicious and cooked to perfection. I tried to vary the dishes as much as I could and had prawns, squid, lamb, beef, aubergines, fried peppers, fried potatoes with aioli, and dipping bread with oil and balsamic vinegar. I was a bit confused after reading the previous reviews as to why some people complained about small portion sizes. The menu is "all you can eat", so if you love a dish and want more, surely you can just order another portion in the next round? I have a decent appetite but I was definitely full after 8 different tapas. There were loads more on the menu I would have liked to try too, but I'm going to try them when I go back (and I definitely will). Service was excellent, the staff were attentive and I felt that even though I'd only had '2 rounds of tapas', it had been excellent value for money. It's a shame I didn't have room for more, or a dessert - as the dessert menu looked great too, but maybe next time 😊 I headed in at about 6pm, so although there were a few occupied tables, it wasn't too busy either. I'd recommend a visit here to anyone, but if like me, you're working around here on business, I think you'll struggle to find better quality and better value.

Absolutely not child friendly. We went as a famly and the 2 children ordered kids meals, adults the unlimited tapas. Children had their meals and we were enjoying our tapas, nothing was being wasted and we were giving the children an odd taste from our dishes when the manager approached us and said you should pay for tapas if these are having it. I explained they were not having full dishes just tastes from ours, he was very rude and loud and totally riined our family night out £78 wasted and we wont be back

We’ve been a good few times since the restaurant changed to Tapas and can honestly say we’ve always thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a good selection of tapas dishes which are always cooked to order and everything tastes lovely. One of my favourites is the white fish! The staff are lovely and friendly, especially the owner, he always makes an effort to talk to children, my son loves receiving a lollipop at the end of the meal. This restaurant is one of my favourite, it’s great value for money and has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere.

Poor overall. We ordered the “eat all you can” tapas for two. The mussels dish was literally one mussel. The worst thing about it was when my fiancée found something hard, plastic and unidentifiable in the pasta. The waiters, waitresses and chef could not identify what it was or how it had got there. Thankfully she didn’t choke on it. They looked embarrassed and simply replaced that dish. The food was mostly bland and nothing special overall. Definitely would not visit again.

Here for a family birthday so the occasion was good but unfortunately the food didn't quite hit the mark. Some tapas were quite good but some were almost inedible. However overall a good night was had because of the atmosphere and the welcoming , friendly staff.

Thought we'd try the tapas as we had heard mixed reviews. I used to come all the time when it was just the Italian. I wish I had come earlier instead of driving over the one in Haslingden!! Great food, piping hot, flavoursome. The prawns were gorgeous!

What a great restaurant with friendly staff. The 15.95 all you can eat tapas was wonderful, every one was delicious, (I had 10) if you can't make up your mind what to eat when you go out, this is great, you can have lots of different things, It was a Mediterranean delight with cocktails at 2 for £12 . Definately go back .

I have been there twice once when it was quiet and last night when it was extremely busy. The customer service is second to none it’s first class and it’s the most child friendly service and place I have ever been to. The food was exemplary and delicious on both occasions a lot of places could learn from them. The choice of food is also excellent. I high recommend this place as I will definitely be going there again

Friendly staff, good food, great experience!

So dessapointed about the food quality, quantity and staff. Dishes with an unusual taste. Not Italian flavors, not Spanish flavors. Everything is prepared on the principle of just cooking something. Maybe you need a highly trained chef. The amount of food is terribly small. Price-value ratio, very expensive. I do not recommend it to anyone, as a chef with 20 years of experience. This is just a business, not hospitality.

Do not visit this restaurant. The food is absolutely revolting. French fries were cold fat soaked sticks of disgustingness. Lasagna made from out the bin of a nursing home. Owner was really rude when we politely let him know the food was inedible. I have never eaten anywhere as bad in all my life. Avoid.

I visited with a couple of friends and my son, for an evening meal. We were unaware that it had been taken over by new owners. It is now a tapas restaurant will an option for main meal. We opted for main meals. Positives: Lovely environment Very clean Most of the staff were very friendly - nice service (waiting on staff) Negatives: Food was either under or overcooked Food was flavourless Fries undercooked and tasted awful Garlic bread soggy wet and undercooked Main courses not served with any veg Overpriced Chicken was dry and overcooked The manager was rude, defensive and condescending One of my party couldn't eat his dinner and had to change it, another one didnt eat her meal at all and had it refunded. My little boy couldn't eat his fries or garlic bread, so I had to make a further dinner for him when we got home. Overall extremely disappointing, will not return and suggest that unless the chef / and or management changes that you dont waste your money.

It was the first time on Saturday in 3 years that I have gone out for a meal as my husband cannot eat solid food and usually he would not be able to eat, so I just haven't bothered. As it was my birthday he asked me what I would really like to do and this time I said I would like to go for a meal.When we got to mangiamos I explained that I had booked for 4 people but only three of us would be eating.A lovely man asked me why and I explained to him. He then told me not to worry and that he could liquidise the dishes for my husband. This brought a tear to my eye I have to say. We sat and ordered and I thought they would bring my husbands' all mixed up together, but NO. They had liquidised each and every dish separately for him. He was so over the moon. They were really busy too. I found all the staff to be so helpful nothing was too much for them. Thank you Mangiamos for your care and consideration.

visited Magiamo with my husband last week, it was so good that I returned today to treat my parents. The staff are lovely, the food is amazing and the cocktails are great value. Thank you for a smashing afternoon.

Not the best. Food seemed very microwaveable and watery. Staff were rude and took plates away whilst we was still eating. Very overpriced , £50 for food I could of cooked myself or gone to Wetherspoons. I won’t be returning.

Really good food and a lovely atmosphere

The staff were friendly but service was not brilliant. Some of the tapas were excellent but the Gambas pil pil was disappointing, it wasn't very spicy and there were 2 prawns, if you were sharing as a couple that was a prawn each. The calamari was excellent and the tortilla the best I've ever tasted but spice was lacking, it was a little disappointing and I wished we had gone alone to try it first.

Food was lovely and the staff were friendly, had prawns and calamari as part of the buffet and was so ill for 4 days with food poisoning that I won't be recommending this place to anyone, waste of money which is a shame because the experience was good. You have to be so careful with seafood, unfortunately this time, Mangiamos were not careful.

I really don't like doing this, absolutely great night at mangaimos until 4 hours later the wife and I 🤢🤢🤢. We have been so Ill the last 3 days and this could have only happened as a result of eating at mangaimos. Not sure I will be going again which is a shame.
