Ordered through just eat. Late delivery. Pizza was burnt, cold and stuck to the box. Ice cream had melted. £20 for a mess. Asked for a refund. Won't use godfather or just eat again.

food was awful, greasy and not enjoyable at all

First 2 times we ordered pizza from them it was brilliant, tonight was awful. Dry and over cooked. Why???

We have been customer of Godfather for over 15 years. We can’t praise them enough for the amazing service and beautiful food, we always receive. Even if there are any slight errors (over 15+ years), the team at Godfather have always been quick to resolve any issue quickly and efficiently. We love their New Yorker pizza, kebabs and burgers. To be honest, there isn’t a bad meal to be had. The food is truly amazing and well worth it cost wise. I would highly recommend and have recommended this amazing restaurant. I don’t call it a take away because the food is on another level. Here’s to another 15 years of amazing food and service.

Calzone was good but topping were on top of the calzone making it a pizza

Called in and ordered the Metro Pizza choosing half mighty meaty and half Italian sausage. Was ready in ten minutes and was piping hot and tasted fantastic. Fresh ingredients, fresh made base and cooked to perfection. Can’t fault it. Staff were friendly and made sure I was happy with everything too. Would defo recommend.

Called in and ordered a Metro Pizza (half mighty meaty, half Italian sausage - it is tastier than pepperoni!). Was served by friendly and helpful staff who advised it would only be 10 minutes. Witnessed the base being freshly handmade and all fresh toppings being applied. True to his word the food was ready in 10 minutes, piping hot and smelled amazing. It tasted fab, all the family were happy and for less than £20 five of us were fed and with leftovers too. Would defo recommend and will be calling again soon.

The owner, I think his name is Maj, is so friendly and kind. I have seen him feed the homeless for free before. The food is always tasty as well. Excellent take away.

I'm a regular customer and have previously recommended to others.. Only ordered 1 x 9" pizza on this occasion. Told it would be 30 mins, arrived 1 hr later, cold! Disappointed 😞 Changed hands maybe??

The guy that runs the godfather called maj is a nice enough chap .but my God he speaks to the delivery drivers like there a piece of muck of his shoes

Order 4 meals for 18.40, but the meals arrived at home at 17.50. while I was at my daughters swimming lesson. Not as good warmed up.

Always my go to when I want a top quality pizza. I usually go for the salt and pepper chicken pizza with cheese crust and it's always perfect.

Every time we order from here we say we will never do it again, then a year later we order because the menu looks great and we have the same experience with delivery. Ordered at 5.37, got a text to say ETA was 6.07, after an hour I called and was told my husband had apparently called to say we wanted the food at 7.15, this absolutely did not happen so the guy apologised and said he’d get it to us asap, food arrived just after 7.15 and was cold as usual. It’s so frustrating because the food is good. There will be no way we will ever order from here again. Thanks for your argumentative response, exactly how you were on the phone, not sure how you would have rectified cold food without waiting for another hour. This is my honest review and unfortunately is the same experience we’ve had every time and judging by some of the comments it’s not just us. Your food is not the problem, your lack of delivering on time and customer service unfortunately is.

We (family of 4) ordered the classic metre long pizza, was not disappointed! Flavorful and plenty of toppings, pizza stayed intact when taking a bite all meat was fresh the chicken was perfect. Definitely order again!

Got a whole onion on my kebab for no extra charge. Made me cry. Tears of joy though. Who doesn't love a whole uncooked onion on their kebab?

You can genuinely go to the moon and back. You STILL won’t find a better Pizza place. Nothing short of truly exceptional. I kid you not,,,,, THE most delicious Pizza I have ever tasted. No, I do not have any connection at all with the staff or owners. All you Pizza lovers out there. Buy one and see for yourself.

disgusting service with a disgusting owner who supports domestic abuse, please save yourself from the food poisoning of godfathers and dont buy from here. the tables are filthy, the kitchen is disgusting, and half of the workers are 13 year olds.

Ordered online at 6.30 pm , says out for delivery at 7.12 pm , still no sign of it at 8pm . Rang up , they didn't seem to have a clue what was going on . It hadn't even been made , they had took the money out of my account . Was asking me how I had ordered it , I said online , they seriously didn't have a clue 😐 I'm going to work in an hour , bloody starving . Maybe a trip to the shop tomorrow to complain . They have your phone no when you order . Terrible service !!

I have been going to the godfather for a few weeks now - the food is excellent! The staff are so friendly,warm and welcoming and recommend meals which makes your bill cheaper even though it’s at their expense!!! The owner is front of house and is a really nice guy.I have had pizzas and kebabs and they are both excellent although the kebabs are my favourite,they are very good. It is the best takeaway in darwen. Value for money ✅ Taste and flavour ✅ Cleanliness ✅ Staff welcoming ✅ Lots of choice ✅

Has to be the worst takeaway pizza I've ever had.... firstly placed order online, waited an hour and half even though it said 45 min. Tried ringing couldn't get through ended up finding a mobile number on the facebook page and they didn't know anything about it as system had crashed supposedly. Food turned up burnt and I don't even know what that base is made from its more like a tortilla or bread. Either it was shockingly bad, there are plenty more places in Darwen if you want pizza so don't bother going amalfi or godfather.

Still so reliable, the benchmark for all Darwen takeaways...always good, always hot..

Busy shop,,, Let down by donner meat only half cooked

Went to Godfathers in Darwen for a quick fix. I ordered a chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn pizza and a chicken zinger burger. Zinger burger was okay but the bun was massive and chicken burger pretty small, so not great value for money. The pizza as you can see in the picture was extremely under cooked, to the point everything I tried to separate the slices all the topping dragged off because the cheese wasn't cooked properly, it then revealed the doughy, soggy, undercooked base. It was also smothered with a pizza base sauce that really was not nice. Ended up chucking it. The guy behind the counter spent ages sorting out two delivery guys out and ignored me. He then picked up 2 separate phones trying to take as many orders as possible while waving a finger at me and whispering "1 minute". He then answered another phone call while trying to figure out what I ordered. Crappie customer care, terrible food. I have been here in the past and I have had extremely mixed food, some good, some really good and most terrible. This will be the last time!

I don't order many takeaways, but, when I do they're superb. Fabulous veggie pizza ordered last night to treat myself, early delivery, despite myself ordering quite late. Friendly driver, warm food, very tasty and I thoroughly recommend them. Over the years they've been fab. I also recommend their kebabs. All round good experience as always, thanks folks x

Omg Maj gave us salt and pepper chicken wings to try and they was amazing!!! Obvs still the best pizzas in Darwen, been going for years since we moved over here, others come and go but Godfathers is still consistently the the best!!!. Always piping hot, deep filled and tasty!

We ordered a chicken kebab as part of a large order on Saturday night, admittedly the pizzas looked ok, the kebab was awful. The chicken was not kebab chicken, and so a misrepresentation, it was dry chewy chunks of chicken thrown in a pitta, Hardly any salad, and smothered in that much sauce that by the time delivery had arrived it was just a paper full of mush, could not recommend at all, shouldn’t advertise chicken kebabs as clearly not, very disappointing for £9.60.

Always get the godfathers kebab box highly recommend it for the price can't go wrong

Vegans beware - I’ve ordered from Godfather and selected the vegan options specifically marked as vegan on a couple of occasions but both times received dairy. Not offering vegan is OK but if they are going to label their items as such they should try harder. When I mentioned it to the staff he argued I had the vegan pizza and I didn’t specify I didn’t want normal cheese (despite the menu labelling the specific brand of vegan cheese they claim to use!). Frustrating.

Stopped going as food was not the best, so thought give it another try, not good, donner and chicken both dry, salad old, coldslaw watery not creamy. Had to throw 80% of meals in bin Wont be going again

Nearly 2 hour wait time for a small food order, then once the food arrived a milkshake was missing, one of the 4 items was missing. Food was average, nothing special. Overall very poor & expensive experience.

This place is excellent and services is fantastic. Last week I ordered a pizza on the Sunday night (late) and fell asleep and didn't hear the delivery driver knocking. The Manager (Cyri) offered me a pizza of my choice the next day to avoid the disappointment of me receiving my pizza. Always great food and a fantastic service. I don’t normally write reviews. But just wanted to put something across I used order from here quite abit and get cookie bombs. Not only have they gotten more expensive and smaller but every time they come now they are cold in the middle. It costs nearly £15 just to get two cookie bombs that are tiny and cold. I won’t be ordering from here again. It’s just disappointing after being a really good takeaway to this

Sae the stars and thought wow. We have only lived in darwen a few months so we thought we would give the local legend a try, yeah, pizza was cold, under cooked and about 30 mins late. I'll stick to napoli from now on.

I ordered a pizza, with just chillies , sent pizza with chicken, when I called them the manager was rude over the phone and said I can’t keep sending pizza, well you never have so why on earth are you saying that? I’ve been ordering pizza from them for years and yes when they get it right it’s great but when they don’t, the service is terrible, really do not know how to speak to customers , even if it’s customers fault, there is a way of talking to them, not be patronising and horrible about it. People are struggling with Money these days so it means a lot when they are spending it buying and treating the family to a takeaway pizza . Godfather have some consideration and respect for people whom are keeping you in a business!!

Used to be one of the best takeaways in Darwen. Must say that the last few times I've been it's not been anywhere near as good. Kebabs can be very greasy and the pizzas a bit bland. Certainly not the worst place but there's better out there for less money. I'm hoping it'll get better again now they're closing the restaurant so they can concentrate back on the takeaway.

Absolutely gutted. Called in after work ordered a pasta which was amazing and thoroughly enjoyed. But i ordered an espania calzone - chorizo, caramelised onion and peppers- which is usually the best. I got given one with a mixture of sausage and had chilli oil or something hot on it. Absolutely uneatable and i gave up after a 1/4 of it. Really disappointed by the order, as i love my normal one. Should spend less time arguing with their delivery drivers and listen to what the customer orders

My favourite takeaway in Darwen, this was my go to place after evening sports and school, 15 years on still great food and friendly service.

Offer 2 12inch pizzas £15, ordered 2, chips and sauce total £24. Thought they got it wrong so when we went to pay said its because we ordered toppings. Dearest toppings in town as was expecting total to be £18.90. Let us have it for £20 as they had burnt the pizza how nice..put me off going back!

These guys helped us out for a party on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of the woods. Delivered yummy pizzas to a load of hungry boys! They arrived super hot and really yummy. Great value and fab service!

I assumed, based on the price, that this was cooked with passion. Now I realise it was cooked by a 12 year old apprentice. This is a £7 hotdog on ciabatta with salad and garlic mayo.
