The staff looked after us on our visit to watch Oxford play at Blackburn. Good spot to park and will be even better when the pub offers food. Thank you for your hospitality

Great pub friendly and accommodating

Since the new lord and land lady took over I've really enjoyed coming here. very friendly staff ,live bands , quiz nights ect. plenty of parking and out door space .

A little to expensive for my taste. Beer not the best.

A nice cosy little bar that has been extended for a games room. Very clean even got proper toilet roll. 😆. The only complaints I have is there is no proper disable access, from the car park to the front door is a cobbled area, which is not level. Also it is difficult to go to the smoking area for anyone in a wheelchair and if they go to the front door then there isn't any shelter if its raining. Please sort it for a 5 star.

One of the better away pubs, and they were prepared enough to not run out of beer, unlike the parking spaces, which were at a premium... Although hearing the bar staff telling tales of my fellow fans knocking on the door at nine o'clock in the morning probably explains why I had to park up the hill. Says more about them than me, I think! Great pub, great beer, and great staff dealing with the increased traffic with smiles on their faces.

Went before the football as an away fan. Welcoming staff. Nice pub.

Parked nearby and visited the pub before a football game. Away fans swelled the pub's customers. 2 real ales were available. I will visit again if football fixtures permit.

This pub is very easy to get to as its just off the motorway, and about a 20 minute walk to Ewood. Car park is a tenner for the duration of the game and you will probably be fully blocked in so no point leaving the match early. If you find you're waiting nip in for another pint

Good boozer, but. Ran out of real ale 90 mins after opening and ran out of chips (matchday menu consisted of burger and or chips) within an hour of commencing.

Kicked out for my kids buying some sweets from the shop. Got told to put them away which I did. Then he came back 3 times to tell me off and tried to embarrass me as he had an audience.Queen’s jubilee day, never been spoke to like that before. Disrespectful, aggressive land lord , rude even insinuated to fight me after. All in front of my children. Total bully boy you’re an embarrassment. Kids still go on about it now you’re a disgrace . If I could you’d get no stars

I won’t be setting foot in there ever again. Loud mouthed woman with a spoilt child mentality was doing the cleaning, she killed the pub atmosphere and regularly brought normal conversation to a stop until she’d finished her rant. ‘Toxic female’ comes to mind.

Went to Xmas markets here, lovely stalls, varied, got some great gifts.

Great pub, always a go to place before a game at Blackburn. A few changes since the last visit, rooms opened up and welcoming, decent choice of bar food, and Ales.

The golden cup, went up market and down hill. The staff are amazing and the vibe of the pub is good. But this is Blackburn and £5.50 for a pint is just not on. Plus miss the pool table

Good outside seating area, a bit noisy from the road traffic but a good pub

The bog height beer was very quick to go flat .we had a second pint of smoth that was ok .

Really lovely staff and was very helpful the meal was good but chicken was dry and the roast potatoes where hard which was a shame but the big Yorkshire was a little burnt but i like it like that 🤣 I would go again and try something else very nice child friendly pub 😀

horrible place, staff are rude to not only customers but also staff. Are judgmental to people who arent from the uk, even if they are white. My friends and i are never returning to such a place, girls night was ruined. the atmosphere itself can make anyone run for the hills as soon as they set foot. if you look closely you will see how dirty it is and how bad it is, seriously seems like they don't care about customers. They dont even pay their staff minimum wage!!!! outraged!

Sun is out and the sky is blue. Covid-19 hopefully on the decline so the good folks of Darwen are back to the Cup. Good beer and service, fingers crossed that everything will be backcto normal soon.

Well pub was closed due to lockdown. But can recommend the butcher's on the carpark every Thursday for great fresh meat at very reasonable prices.

Friendly staff. Clean pub. We ordered gin and tonic she poured the gin and then, no tonic. Never been in a pub that has run out of tonic at 7.30 in the evening. Other than that, nice place. Sat outside on the cobbled forecourt, which was nice.

We had our tea at the new Golden Cup last night. The service was great and the cheese and onion pie is to die for!

Really great Sunday roast, lovely little pub with good beers. It's a must try place. Try the food it's all cooked to order and fresh, the pie of the week is always a winner

It was quiet when I visited and the cask ale was not at its best- tried a couple then gave up & went elsewhere. Hope things pick up for them.

Went in for the new Sunday Roast off with the new chef Aidan Lewis. Wow it was amazing. We both had the veg roast and it was so good. Home cooked and value for money. Friendly bar staff too..highly recommended.

I attended The Golden Cup on a job to sweep there chimney for a fire they wanted to get going. Never been in before but can say it's a really nice pub. Looks like it's recently been decorated which gives it a fresh look.
