the quality has really gone down and the price has gone up. ordered white toast and received brown. when asked to change to white the cook slammed the plate saying that I had made a mistake. the poor waitress did apologise saying it was clearly white toast ordered. that’s the last we will go there.

My partner and I visited the restaurant for a lovely meal after a stressful week of moving home. The staff we pleasant, polite and friendly as was the service. The food was very tasty, freshly made and hot. The place had a good atmosphere, with space and tasteful decor. Worth the visit

We popped into the Bush Inn today and so glad we did. The bar was so welcoming and the food was amazing- 3 had Thai meals and 1 had a pub classic couldn’t complement the chef enough. This is a gem of a bar with a separate eating area. If we are in the area again it will be our first stop

My wife and I went for a trip to Lowther Castle and Gardens with the in-laws, and after such awful weather we decided to travel to Cockermouth to treat ourselves to the excellent Fredricks which we've visited many times before. We started with the seafood platter / selection with a portion of chips for the young one. It's a great selection of items for fish lovers! After, we ordered some lovely main dishes, enough for 3 adults and 2 kids (1 kids meal of pizza and chips!) Lovely meal to end of evening. Will be back when next in the area.

Excellent fruit scones and nice coffee reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and although busy we had speedy service. Dog friendly but not apparent from outside so if not a dog lover don’t worry you won’t be surrounded by mutts. Traditional interior but very well kept.

Walked in around 7pm on a Wednesday, empty shop but no greeting. I said ‘hello’ to the two ladies working and got nothing back. . The girl behind the till raised her eyebrows at us so I guessed that was our signal to order. The first time I heard her voice was when she asked if we wanted salt and vinegar. Wild. The food was OK but super greasy. Fish batter stuck to the paper so maybe some greaseproof would be handy here. Overall a pretty bad experience and one we wont be giving a second chance.

Visited here again today, quickly becoming a favourite place to eat in Cockermouth. The coffee and food is excellent. The service from all staff members we encountered was also first class and nice to see, professional, polite and courteous. So what's the issue? Well, the cafe is small so customers are close together, no problem, however, when one has a great Dane size dog that is right next to you and they feed it off their plates with it's head over the table, it's not just off putting, but disgusting. Personal preference I know, but establishments serving food and drink is no place for dogs of any size.

I'm sorry I have to write this because they all seem to be nice guys at Fiza Spice but, as I had told the manager previously, if this ever happened again I would post an honest review. And it has so here goes. At least this review will give this business an opportunity to explain. Because they haven't answered me in person. For the second time this last year - both times being at the start of the week - our lamb curry was made with bland sliced lamb. Very obviously left overs. After all, who would roast a leg of lamb then use it in curry? Maybe at home you might use up leftovers from the Sunday roast - but professionally? I don't think so! The sliced lamb was bland, no spice in it, it had just been warmed up in a curry sauce. Not 'cooked in spice specifically for the curry. Where is this left over lamb coming from? A care home? A hospital? Has it come from the kitchen or from the plates ie having been served then returned to the kitchen with goodness knows what contamination? Our entire lamb curry went in the bin. And, despite being very much NOT a squeamish person, or picky in any way - I still feel sick thinking about it. Who wants to eat a stranger's left overs? Goodness knows what else is going on in the kitchen if the manager thinks this is acceptable. We will never, ever, eat from this takeaway again.
