I’ve been lucky enough to experience Flat Earth a few times and there’s always something different. Imaginative use of flavours, all ingredients home made, such a refreshing change from the usual take away offering.

Great food, superb service and a welcoming atmosphere. Just make sure that if you come for a meal that you are hungry, very hungry...the portions are large and delicious... Great place for a casual dinner or just dropping in for a quick pint. Parking can be an issue but it's worth the walk... A real all season Pub that embraces events and includes outdoor seating for alfresco dining if the weather permits. A wonderful place alongside theTyne that should not be overlooked..

For some reason we had not been here for some time and walking through the doors on a dark and windy Halloween evening immediately wondered why not? The food choice and quality is top class. As are the friendly and very efficient staff - both in the restaurant and at the bar. While the decor and ambience is everything you could hope for in a lovely country pub, restaurant and hotel. Excellent value too. We felt welcomed and treated in a special place where the staff - front of house and kitchen - made that extra effort to ensure everyone went home with a smile on their face. Well done to all involved.

Wow what a gem of a place, stumbled across this place when in the area walking for the weekend. Had an incredible evening meal followed by breakfast the next morning. Really friendly staff and environment, the service was excellent, Will definitely come back and hopefully stay next time too.

Visited with family (11 of us). Fabulous service and amazing food. Pre-order was needed as there were so many of us and it worked really well. Friendly staff, very welcoming and made a fuss of the kids which added an extra touch (and the ice cream went down very well!). Will be back!

We hadn't been to Wylam before and stumbled upon The Ship by accident. So glad we did - real secret gem. Dog friendly, food amazing and Kay and the staff very friendly. Our turkey pie was full of turkey and I have no idea how they cooked the chunky chios- but want the recipe. Even the root vegetables were melt in the mouth gorgeous. We even got a small doggie treat free of charge. Definitely recommend

Food good apparently but not really a village pub anymore. Called in for a pint and although there are four hand pumps there are no kegs attached to them so no proper beer. "We don't sell enough to warrant buying it in". So if you're looking for a meal probably ok but if you're wondering about a pint you'll be disappointed. Shame, it used to be good.....

I went to the coffee shop for afternoon tea with friends. It took 20minutes to get our coffees then a futher 20mins for our afternoon tea which was pre-ordered. The staff were attentive, came over to ask if we would like more coffee and if everything was alright. The afternoon tea was well worth the money, good varitey of food and good size portions. But the real problem started when my friends and I left. A waitress came after to accuse us of giving them a old £10 note. Which was not true. The waitress said 'sorry but my manager said I needed another note'. If this was the case, the manager should of came to speak to us and not send a young waitress. No matter how many times we said no it wasn't us, she would not believe us. In the end my friend gave her another £10 just to end the conversation. It was completely inappropriate for the waitress to speak to us in the shop next door, in front of other customers. I should of gone inside to speak to the manager but I was fruststrated and just wanted to leave. My friends and I will not be returing after the way we were treated.

Your restaurant lost £100’s worth of business this afternoon - so laugh at the following message by all means but your manager should be aware of how his/her staff operate at least on a Saturday afternoon. We were due to have the fixed price Christmas menu(£35 each plus drinks). When we ordered drinks they took a long time to arrive - surprising when only two other tables were dining - it was apparent at that juncture there was a lax attitude about the staff. We ordered our food and waited for our starters to arrive whilst we could hear a mixture of loud, raucous shouting/laughing coming from the kitchen of which an unacceptable level of repugnant language was heard. When the waitress came to collect our starters, she asked if we would like to order dessert, presumably the staff had had no briefing about which courses were starters and mains. I requested that she would inform the kitchen staff that the repugnant language and noise filtering through to the dining room area be resolved. It wasn’t - it stayed the same. At this point an individual with a grey hooded sweater came out of the kitchen and was leaning over the bar and larking on with your staff. We waited a significant amount of time to receive our main courses before deciding the level of service was not up to standard to stay any longer - no mains received. We offered to pay for our drinks but your presumable lead supervisor on shift simply replied ‘Divent worry about it.’ I suggest you have a word with your staff and improve your standards with a professional manager on shift if you want to avoid losing more money and have people told to avoid your restaurant!

Paid over £6 for bacon egg and mushroom sarnie and coffee wouldn't have minded the price but there was only 3or 4 slices of mushroom in egg was snotty the bacon was cooked well but when they asked if I wanted Brown or White I assumed it would be in a bun (roll, bap) but to my surprise it was in between to slices of white soggy bread. The coffee was good to be fair. Won't be in a hurry to return.
