Gorgeous setting on a lovely sunny day. Tables inside and outside overlooking the valley. Home made cakes a bonus with hot tea or coffee. Lovely home furnishings inside to buy as well as candles etc. Lovely place to visit.

First class food, attentive staff and relaxed atmosphere!! We will DEFINITELY be back again!!!

A Google find when my usual coffee shop was busy. This place was very busy but managed to find a table within 5 minutes. Great place with a reasonably priced home furnishing store within on two floors which I would also recommend. We will be back for more coffee and some home furnishings.

My partner and I love having a snack lunch at the Bywell Barn - it's elegant, well run, the staff are charming, the soup is always delicious and the scones tasty and nutritious. The only complaint I have is the choice of artworks in the main cafe area:- four quite well-executed paintings whose subjects are, to say the least, bizarre! I can perceive no virtue in sticking an animal's head on the corpse of a Regency buck! They are really irritating to my simple mind: I do wish someone would buy them or they might otherwise be placed out of sight. However, I could not in all honesty say that, even if they remained, I would not always enjoy my soup and scone!

Wonderful little cafe out in the countryside

We popped in on Sunday afternoon in the final hour of business. We received a warm welcome and there was still an excellent choice of cakes and traybakes. We enjoyed a lovely coffee and tasty traybake each. We will definitely visit again, perhaps enjoying a light lunch next time.

This is a cozy little café with a difference, it also extends into a shop selling home furniture, etc., which extends into two rooms and space upstairs. There are some very items for the home to be found there. The café itself is rustic looking from the outside and the interior is modern. There is a nice menu and what we had was quality. The only mild criticism I would have is that if you like toasties and you don't like cheese, you're snookered. The ladies that served us were very polite and helpful. One last thing, the location is wonderful, countryside all around and you're cut off from civilisation, which is nice from time to time. I imagine it's beautiful in the summer.

Super place for lunch, the food is excellent, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The service great, but it isn't 'Ready-made' food so takes a short while to prepare, but always worth the 10min wait. The coffee is excellent (illy). I particularly like the 'Bacon, Brie, & Cranberry'. The Coronation Chicken Sandwich is amazing.

I went to the coffee shop for afternoon tea with friends. It took 20minutes to get our coffees then a futher 20mins for our afternoon tea which was pre-ordered. The staff were attentive, came over to ask if we would like more coffee and if everything was alright. The afternoon tea was well worth the money, good varitey of food and good size portions. But the real problem started when my friends and I left. A waitress came after to accuse us of giving them a old £10 note. Which was not true. The waitress said 'sorry but my manager said I needed another note'. If this was the case, the manager should of came to speak to us and not send a young waitress. No matter how many times we said no it wasn't us, she would not believe us. In the end my friend gave her another £10 just to end the conversation. It was completely inappropriate for the waitress to speak to us in the shop next door, in front of other customers. I should of gone inside to speak to the manager but I was fruststrated and just wanted to leave. My friends and I will not be returing after the way we were treated.

First visit this morning on recommendation of the friend I was meeting. Lovely environment with fantastic friendly and professional service. I had a bacon sandwich, it was delicious, probably the best I've had in a very long time. The bacon was excellent quality. I drink decaf black coffee and I'm often disappointed by what I get served but, here it was really good coffee, so much so I had two. Loved it. Definitely going back.

Visited this absolutely delightful coffee shop for the first time as part of a large group for Christmas afternoon tea. We were in a room by ourselves with a Christmas tree and Christmas music playing creating a lovely atmosphere. The afternoon tea was absolutely fantastic large assortment of very tasty goodies beautifully presented. The staff were so friendly and welcoming I will most certainly return. Highly recommended.

Went in for early lunch. Location is good - but - 2 toasted sandwiches, cup of tea and Diet Coke - best part of £30. Ok we could see the price but we couldn’t see the quality before we’d ordered and paid. Dry and very average toasted sandwiches served about 10 minutes apart. The thing that annoyed me the most was request for a tip on payment- you pay before you are served! We added a tip assuming things would be great based on what we had heard. Not doing that again. Rip off.

Disappointed with the full breakfast, 1st was cold - returned it, 2rd breakfast no better baked beans luke warm, bacon hard been in the oven since when?sausages skins hard not from a butcher's shop. Only good thing was the coffee and toast differently not worth £13.45

Sunny day. Sat outside ,view over Tyne valley breathtaking. Very busy. We had to wait for a seat. Spent time looking in Christmas shop. Well designed.

Beautiful coffee shop with great food and friendly folk.Its also an impressive interior design shop with lots to see and ( I thought ), excellent prices on some beautiful items that I expected would be much more expensive It's also Shockingly & beautifully styled and absolutely immaculate. We visited last Thursday as one of my birthday treats with my grandson, and enjoyed wonderful tea & scones sat outside on the terrace overlooking the beautiful Tyne valley. The weather was perfect, and the service was wonderful, our waitress found the last 3 cheese scones for us, and they were yummy! Many thanks to the staff, and we definitely will be returning! It's a little gem!

This is our go to place when we're in the area. The cheese and chive scones are awesome. Good tea and coffee aswell. If weather allows sit outside as the views are stunning.

Waste of time! Do not got to this coffee shop! They gave you the wrong drinks, stop serving breakfast 45 mins before stated time. Went back a week later for a coffee, they had closed up & turned all machines off 35 mins before closing time. Very poorly run coffee shop.

A beautiful coffee shop situated in Bywell. Amazing food and coffee. We had scones and coffee which tasted lovely , not to mention the clotted cream and jam. Situated within the coffee shop you can browse the the old barn conversion which has items to buy. Lovely staff , very friendly. Would highly recommend this place. Looking forward to my next visit.

Had a soup which was fresh and homemade and cakes which are very generous portions Beautiful views and the extra interior shop within the building is lovely, we visited in Dec so full of xmas decs so nice to go back in summer see what it has in then . Plenty outdoor seating to give a try on some warmer days.

As always, lovely to visit and jasmine n lilah interiors who use the rest of this traditional farmhouse as rloom displays for interior design items. Furniture lighting picture art etc. especially their seperate Xmas decorations at this time of the year Both as lovely as always

I visited yesterday with a young man with autism spectrum disorder, this is one of the few cafe's that he is comfortable visiting. This time, he was scared by dogs barking in an adjacent room and was quite distressed by this. However, the staff were brilliant with him and he soon calmed down and stayed for another drink. I'm sure he will be happy to come back thanks to the way that this was dealt with. Thank you and well done!! I know how hard everyone works to make this such a nice place and the owners and team deserve credit for this. Great coffee too!!

Whilst out cycling we found this place , staff were friendly & welcoming , service was good range of food was good , it was Busy but our table was cleared and efficiently cleaned :) Cake was enormous but I managed it ,cherry & almond sweet & rich ! Lovely !

Worst experience I’ve ever had, customer service was an utter disgrace, completely ignored when wanting to be served and when I finally got served took over 20 minutes to get a cup of tea and a coke and people coming in for food and treats getting there’s within 5 minutes. Also manager man handled me, grabbed me harshly to push me out the way and with attitude said “I did ask you to move” 1. You have no right putting your hands on anyone 2. I’m completely deaf can’t hear anything and I rely on lip reading and 3. Patience cost nothing, don’t be a rude ignorant prick! Wouldn’t recommend stopping here at all even if you’re just passing by like myself.

We like coming here and today went on our way home from Whitley Bay specially to have a brew and a sandwich. We weren't disappointed and discovered the lovely seating area at the front. The food is good, and reasonably priced. The staff are really friendly and the service is very good.

Nice location .good views ,good looking cakes .Other than that cannot make one other positive comment . We ordered Coffees ,with 2 soups c/w scones 1 with a roll and 1 Panini. Drinks served quite quickly ,soups took quite a while and they were stone cold .Went to desk to complain as to the fact the soup was stone cold, waitress took them away ,the scones/roll were used to identify the individual bowls as the 3 of us had taken our one and only spoonful . Waitress came back to the table to inform us the microwave had broken and that was the reason the soup was cold. Now I am no chef but I do know that soup produces steam and microwaved bowls get hot . However it seems no one had noticed on taking the soup out of the microwave the lack of steam or how cold the bowls were. So,we were informed , the soup would have to be heated in a saucepan .Now whether the 3 bowls of soup were combined in a sauce pan or we were given a new batch of soup I have no idea .Though we did get the original scones and the roll back which were by now also stone cold . All drinks by the time the reheated soup arrived had been consumed .We did get an apology when the soup was returned.BUT no offer of another drink ,no one came back to ask if the soup was hot this second time. Nor were we offered any monetary recompense . VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED . The Manager should be highly embarrassed about this basic mistake happening in their establishment . Yes things go wrong but you go over and above to make things right ,but not here.

A friend and I enjoyed the Scone platter for lunch. Choice is savoury scone, with cheese, crackers a pickled onion and chutney. Yum! Service was amazing. Definitely recommend a visit!

A friend took me to The Barn for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t know it existed but what a surprise! It’s fabulous, I can certainly recommend and will be returning very soon.

Really enjoyed my first visit here with my wife and daughter. It is arranged as if it was someones home, so different rooms to choose from all with their own characteristics. It also houses a furniture shop part of which included displays on the first floor and all very tatefully presented. I enjoyed poached egg on toast and the ladies each chose from the cakes to accompany tea and Latte. The service was excellent and the staff were attentive and very friendly. It is set in a lovely location near Bywell. A gem to be discovered by anyone who hasn't yet had the pleasure. I would recommend a visit if you are ever in the area of Bywell, Stocksfield.

Lovely café with multiple cosy corners to sit. Outdoor tables with views of the Tyne Valley in good weather. Enjoy browsing the furniture displays set out in the other rooms of this lovely old building.

Little hidden gem in stocksfield. The staff are so friendly and you can see it's genuine, and not because of the job. Ordered a coffee to take away which was lovely, even my mate who is really picky liked it! Had a pea and leek soup too. Absolutely outstanding. The place needs better signage but might not be possible where it is. Highly recommend this place
