Lovely place with some antiques as a bonus. Usually don't choose Italian food but this was definitely one of the best I've tasted.

Any connoisseur of the burger needs to try the Duke burger. Absolutely out of this world, as was the haddock. Prompt friendly service as well. Definitely worth a visit 🤗

Sunday lunchtime visit with my wife. The Robin Hood delivers every time. We both had roast beef, which was tender, tasty and plentiful. Surrounded by great roast potatoes and a variety of winter vegetables. The Yorkshire pudding and gravy were exceptionally tasty. For dessert we managed somehow to fit in apple and blackberry crumble with a jug of custard. A wonderful end to the meal. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and just get on with making sure you enjoy your meal. Highly recommended and it will not disappoint.

Lovely feeling when you walk in, it seemed quiet when we got there around 6.45pm. Sat at a table looking onto the outside garden area. It took almost an hour for 3 tiny duck pancakes as a starter to arrive! Average in taste. We waited a further 10-15 minutes for our mains: Steak pie, mash & veg and a smashed burger. I hate it when I expect a pie but only get a pie crust! Mash was cold, small jug of gravy was ok. Burger was ok, but not what we were expecting, smaller and underwhelming is the best description. On a lighter note, the South African Sauvignon Blanc was delicious. Overall cost us £64 for a mediocre meal that neither of us really enjoyed.

I checked into a single room, I had no problem with the size of the room, the decor was clean and fresh. However I checked the bathroom and found no soap, shower gel or shampoo. I went to the bar and the employee, or owner looked at me as though I had two heads asking for the items. He said we never put soap, shower gel or shampoo in rooms, he did say that he'd put soap in the room later, I felt that he just wanted rid of me, the soap never appeared.

Brilliant spot for an evening of drinks after a long day of walking. Friendly bar staff and locals - we were made to feel truly welcome. Thanks very much to Helen and the team. Really impressed by family friendly bathrooms!!
