Busy on a weekday. Lots of locals. Great food.

Lovely place with some antiques as a bonus. Usually don't choose Italian food but this was definitely one of the best I've tasted.

Had Sunday roast here. Lamb with gluten free Yorkshire pudding which was a great meal. Plenty of well cooked and tasty food. My partner had the crumble which he was very 😊 with. Friendly staff and great service. We will be back. Thank you

Love going to the Duke, the staff are so friendly ,attentive ,polite and professional. The surroundings are lovely, clean and with a peaceful atmosphere and the views especially from the outside terrace on a warm day are perfect . I think however it's about time the menus were changed, the food is always beautifully cooked and served but a new menu would enhance the experience.

Very glad to be able to edit my review, the place has changed hands and the improvement has been incredible. Two of us had the classic parmo, one had the lasagne. All the food was fresh, delicious, served quick (despite the place being fairly busy) and came in generous portions. It’s still way too expensive for what it is, but if you’re out to treat yourself you can do a lot lot worse.

We found the Bait Box at the Black Bull by chance - and were very glad we did. Helen's soups were absolutely perfect! Between us we tried the potato and leek soup, and the carrot and coriander. The stottie sandwiches were spot-on too. All with served with a cheerful smile. Thanks Helen. We'll be back for more.
