The best restaurants in Bamburgh Northumberland North East

We ordered two English breakfasts with poached eggs. The quality of every ingredient but the bacon was below par: Eggs - Rubbery Sausages - Inedible Rubbish Hash Brown's - Disgusting Toast - Seemed to be stale bread All for £27 I do not recommend.

The hotel is clean and recently renovated. It’s a 19-minute walk to the town center, and the breakfast is lovely. We’ll definitely return next time

The Pack Horse Inn is a gastropub in the village of Ellingham, a short drive from the A1. There is limited parking in front of the premises, but on street parking is available too. There was a set menu for Sunday lunch with 2 courses for £27 and a little more for 3 courses. There was choice for those not wanting traditional roast, including fish and a vegetarian nut roast. The main menu is more extensive. The meals were all well presented and tasty. The flavour of each part of the dishes was distinct yet complimentary. Vegetables were fresh and cooked with some crunch left in them. Several vegetables with each meal. Decent portion size. A range of beers and wines is on offer. Service was adequate and with a smile. The bar is small and it felt awkward waiting for drinks before being shown through to the table. We were booked for lunchtime opening time and had to wait for the front door to be opened which was after our booked time. The restaurant warned up after the fire came to life but it was cold when we first entered. The separate bar and dining area gives the bar the warm feel of a traditional pub. Price was as expected in this popular area of Northumbria, a little lower than at the coast. Confident enough to post the menu outside the entrance.

On the expensive side but very enjoyable meal. We had the soup and tuna melt and really enjoyed both.

Great little spot, lovely scones, nice staff and pleasant surroundings. Lovely breakfast and lunch menu and reasonable prices.

Rating as an whole experience.. Food was nice and would say we was not disappointed. However as a whole the service was poor ... late to serve drinks, and the young lad serving consistently forgot what he was doing. Charged us for somthing we didn't recieve and when stating this when paying the bill the other young waitress didnt attempt to rectify it. Reviews claim to be great but we would not return as this was a poor service and ciuld of been easily rectified.

Cannot recommend this restaurant too highly. All 5 of us agreed it's the best curry we've had for ages, packed with flavour, subtly spiced and generous portion sizes. Staff attentive and engaging too. Perfect meal, wish it was my local.

Brilliant, attentive and lovely staff and excellent food. Me and my family shared some popadoms and a pickle tray and it was lovely. Great selection of drinks including a 0% option (Heineken) which was perfect for me. I had a lovely chicken tikka starter which was the perfect size and delicious. My Dad tried the Pakora and said it was delicious. I had the classic chicken korma for my main course, Mum had the Prawn saagwala and Dad asked if there was any chance they could do him a chicken nawabi and they delivered! We shared some rice and different naans and it was delicious! 10/10 will definitely be returning.

Great hotel on the high street in beautiful Bamburgh. The room was huge, and windows overlooked the outside seating area but, was very quiet by 10pm on the Sunday evening. The bed was so comfy, and we had a good night's sleep. The bathroom with a good sized walk in shower was spotless. We had breakfast on Monday, and the staff were so attentive, and the food was delicious. A good choice of cereals fruit,pastries and yoghurt etc and a very good cooked breakfast menu too. We enjoyed our short stay but would go back and we recommend this hotel.

Been tonight Grate food and service

Pizza was great, seafood pasta was average. The lasagne wasn’t good and when we brought this to the attention of the waiter he refused to take it off the bill because we said the food was ok when he came round initially. Maybe we should have said something earlier in hindsight. Regardless the waiter was a quite aggressive with the situation. Sadly I don’t think we will return which is a shame.

Went to listen to some music and had a really great night The chap playing was excellent Got talking to a couple of guys from Yorkshire Mark and Alan who were singing along with us Thanks Guy

This place has got it right 'so few do' A tight efficient hardworking team producing nice food at good prices in a pleasant environment without long waits.

Excellent selection of shellfish, lovely staff & although a little expensive, worth every penny. Lovely atmosphere & waitig staff were superb
