Without a doubt this hotel serves the best Sunday lunch in the Seahouses area, and being local I have tried all of them in all seasons. The choice is excellent, the portions generous and the service excellent. The price is excellent for both the meals and the drinks. I know it's out of Seahouses in North Sunderland but it's well worth a stroll up the road. Thank you for everything today.

We had booked a few days before as we had the dog which is probably just as well as there only looked like 4 or 5 tables in the bar area. The tables were well spaced out. The food was pretty good (homemade chicken kiev, 2 steaks and a beef stew). The staff were friendly and efficient. Car park decent size too.

Received a warm welcome from the staff, shown to our table, drinks and food orders were taken straight away. Longstone Lighthouse is very famous for the heroine Grace Darling’s daring rescue rowing from the lighthouse in a coble with her father William to save 9 lives from a shipwreck on a stormy night. We toasted Grace as it was today, 7th September 1838, the brave deed took place. The food menu was very varied with fish, meat and vegetarian on offer, all freshly made. It was difficult to make a choice, we ordered crab and black pudding Scotch eggs for starters, extremely tasty and fresh. For mains we had pork, scampi, beer battered fish and a huge bowl of mussels. My fellow diner told them that they were the best mussels she had ever tasted and she’s had a few! Apparently they had received 3 compliments on the mussels that night! The dessert menu was a joy to read, sticky toffee pudding was top of our list. I would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant, it was a delight to eat there.

We were a family of 6 who died on a Monday evening, and were delighted when our dog was allowed to join us, in the bar area rather than the restaurant. The bar area was well presented and suited us well A wide selection of starters were chosen, from mussels to a delicious fish chowder and some excellent potato skins. Portion sizes were large and well presented. Mains chosen included belly of pork, cod loin, mussels and fries, also beef stew. Portions were again plentiful and of top quality. We were all absolutely stuffed after sampling the desert menu! Prices were reasonable and drinks served to the table quickly. The staff were friendly and prompt - it did seem a bit quiet for them but 2 of our party ate there again later that week and standards were high again I really hope business picks up for this place, the restaurant and bar is part of a hotel, a 10 minute walk or so from Seahouses harbour. There is a car park on site too, dogs accommodated too.

Sunday lunch, a rare treat to eat out but a holiday tradition. Visited Longstone previously and enjoyed drinks in the bar. It's a 15 minute walk from the centre of Seahouses or a few minutes drive. Menu offered pink beef, lamb or belly pork. Beef was not pink possibly as it was reheated, Yorkshire pudding was home made but overcooked and crusty. Veg was very overcooked, swede tasteless and watery, one roast potato per person! Watery carrots and green beans, disappointing 😞 lamb was full of garlic, pork was fatty and stuffing unpleasant. Just ok.

I nearly avoided this place as it appeared as promoted on trip, very glad I didn’t. Excellent friendly but respectful service, very good choice of food. I had crab to start and cod loin as main, my husband had lamb, we both had bread and butter pudding. All beautifully cooked and tasty. Somewhat out of the main melee of Seahouses which was nice as town was busy. The hotel is clean and modern and dog friendly.

Visited last night with wife and dog, nice restaurant received a warm friendly welcome. The drinks order was promptly taken while we looked at the menu which had some different dishes available as we have found nearly every restaurant in Seahouses serves the same meals only the prices vary. I had the chicken Kiev on a bed of Caesar salad and the wife chose the mussels both meals were well presented and tasted lovely. To finish we shared a mixed berry Eton mess which proved to be a good decision. To sum up good food at reasonable prices well delivered would definitely return and recommend.

Fantastic group Sunday lunch. We booked a table for 10 & 4 dogs in the bar. Our table was ready on time & we were seated all together in the bar with water bowls already in place for the dogs. Bob was really welcoming & quick with drinks service. We had starters, mains & desserts & all were delicious. Food was served hot & quickly. Glowing reviews for the lamb & Yorkshire puddings! Lovely Eton mess puddings served in large glasses. Only feedback would be beef said served pink but was more medium/well done. Although still delicious.

Lovely restaurant located in the hotel. They only accept advanced bookings so be sure to book in advance. We visited on a Thursday evening when they do an offer of 2 ribeye steaks and a bottle of wine for £27, excellent value. We opted for the normal menu and had delicious mussels with fries and chicken in a peppercorn sauce with crushed new potatoes, excellent. They appear to have a limited choice of wine so of the 2 options given we chose Pinot Grigio, which was very quaffable and great value at £15.95. No room for deserts, however from what we saw they look fabulous. Great service and the bill was a pleasant surprise too. Highly recommend.

The Longstone was recommended by a friendly fellow camper ( Thanks for that Mate) The staff immediately made us welcome and settled us down in a window seat with the dog say at the side of us. I decide to go for my normal pie and chips whilst my wife went for the fish and chips. But you know that Marks and Spencer food advert on telly where they ramble on about "It's not just fish and chips, it's M&S; fish and chips... Well believe you me, you ain't had proper food till you've tried Longstone food... It's absolutely delicious, and the portions are nothing to laugh at either! Good job we had Jazz the dog with us. Well done the chef... He's a magican, and the staff were lovely particularly the barman who replaced a half lager which I accidentally knocked over. Nearly drowned the dog. Called in here a couple of times for a drink and were very impressed with the welcome and the style of the bar, so decided to give it a try last week for Sunday lunch. We found the menu a bit limited, only one choice of roast, beef. We decided on the slow cooked Blade of beef instead having heard some one praise it the week before. It was cooked perfectly and delicious, the veg was very nice also, on a personal note I was a bit disappointed with only roast potatoes, I prefer boiled new or mashed potatoes as well. All in all a very nice Sunday lunch, I think a bit pricey for what is a very cheap cut of meat. We had no children with us, but be warned the children's menu is £10, a bit pricey for a drink, sausage and chips and an ice cream. Nice place to call into for a drink, especially on a nice day to sit outside.

We were delighted to see that this Hotel and restaurant had opened after being closed for a lot of years. The refurbishment is stunning now and what was years ago a rather tired pub is a very chic Restaurant and Hotel. We are local and called in for lunch today which was very enjoyable with freshly cooked food, a good choice and, a bit of a novelty nowadays, cooked to order. I liked the fact that you can have any of the starters as main courses or just a starter portion as a snack. I like this as I can't manage two big courses at lunchtime. The fish was fresh with lovely crisp batter. In this fishing village it isn't always the case that fish will be good with light batter - we have had awful fish and chips from local seafood restaurants in the past. We will certainly visit again soon and it will be on our list of good places to eat from now on.

A very welcome and overdue reopening for an old favourite. Popped in for a drink last week and was impressed enough to book lunch for today. Beautifully redecorated and boasting a fine range of beers and lagers, the cool and shady bar area offered respite from what had turned out to be a bit of a scorcher. A warm welcome from an obviously well trained staff carried us through to our table in the spacious conservatory. Our drinks appeared within moments and were shortly followed by a delicious roast beef lunch. The meat cooked to perfection and a good variety of vegetables to accompany. I noticed that there were two vegetarian options available if required. The waitresses and our hostess were pleasant and attentive throughout and I was pleased to see that there was a good proportion of local people dining as well as some visitors to the area.. The dining room has several sections to it and the tables nicely spaced to allow for some privacy.
