Had a fantastic stay at the Victoria hotel over the weekend. We stayed in room 41 a superior delux and it was lovely. Light, spacious, beautifully decorated and spotless! The staff were very helpful when we arrived and checked in. The bar staff were really friendly when we went down for a few drinks in the evening and despite how busy it was we managed to get a table and the atmosphere was great. The breakfast was very nice, a continental buffet and variety of cooked breakfasts on the menu. The hotel also offer a free and secure car park just down the road which is always a plus. I can highly recommend this hotel and say with confidence that we will be returning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This establishment is what I would normally look at, as a luxury to what I'm used to. The reception, bar and dining area is exceptional and stylish. The room in which we had, didn't quite live up to the price we paid, compared to other hotels we have stayed in at less cost, which let it down. We ate at the hotel (I booked B&B)in the evening. Food is excellent no faults at all, hot and delicious, luxury priced!. again my personal opinion is it's over priced to what I'm used to paying.. staff in the hotel are wonderful, helpful and very polite. It's a fantastic hotel. I did my research around the local area and I was one of the best prices overall. great location to all the attractions we wanted to visit. I've had my experience and enjoyed my time here.its not somewhere I'd rush back to.🤷

Arrived at hotel in the lovely village of Bamburgh to be told at reception that there was a power cut but the electricity company were expecting it to be restored by about 6pm so no problem with dinner. Were shown to a recently refurbished and attractive room and bathroom. About half an hour later we were told that the power would now not be back on until possibly 10pm so no dinner possible. They immediately offered a complete refund of the room, although we had sprawled on the bed and used the bathroom, if we wanted to check out. We didn’t! Very pleasant hotel, friendly and helpful staff who directed us to a village which still had power and a choice of restaurants. Excellent breakfast next morning too. Definitely recommended.

The food here is absolutely superb. Been going for years and consistently good. Staff are lovely and welcoming, and service is good. But they need to manage the eating side of the bar area especially when it's busy (especially Friday and Saturday evenings). Too many times we've seen families who want to come and eat, having to go elsewhere because larger tables are filled with couples nursing one or two drinks for a couple of hours. It's happened to us too and whilst there is a restaurant it quite rightly gives priority to the residents so they get to eat. It just needs to be better organised, manned or even signs on the tables for busy times. They must be missing out on so much income and it just deters us from going there after 6 on a busy night.

The Hotel is located in a beautiful Victorian Building. Location is great. Rooms are ok. Beds are quite comfortable. Breakfast service is terrible. Unfriendly and unengaged. We felt like our existence was a nuisance to them. Breakfast was not great all together. We also ate in the Restaurant last night. Food was not great either. Service ok. We will look for another place in Bambourgh next time.

Family of four enjoyed a fantastic meal at this lovely restaurant. The service was perfect and the staff were super friendly. Sadly we were sat near to a very rude man and his only slightly less rude wife, who ruined the atmosphere (some of the other customers actually asked to move as they were so rude). The staff dealt them very professionally. Fortunately they didn't ruin our evening and we would definitely go back. Prawn spaghetti is an epic portion, beautifully cooked, magnificent steak burger and the monkfish curry was exquisite!!

Great place for a pint 🍺 in the sunshine ☀️ at the end of the day in this gorgeous village. Dog friendly bar area for food was very nice and the food was very good. Some interesting choices on the menu. Slightly let down by the service I felt but maybe I am being harsh.

Made very welcome on arrival and it was great that the hotel has it's own private car park. Hotel is generally well maintained and the staff are friendly, efficient and helpful.Bedroom was a bit oppressive because it was hot and only one small window opened so the room was airless. Otherwise the room was well equipped.

It is okay certainly resting on its laurels for the Location everything felt a little cheap. Poor water pressure for showers, minimal shower gel etc. Nothing done for an extra payment for a dog, mediocre breakfast selection and all for a £220 room, which seemed steep. A real shame as with a few more touches instead of scrimping could be great. Staff all friendly and helpful.

Visited the resturant for some food last night and was very pleased by the quality of food and service. We had the steak burger and fish and chips which were both reasonably priced. The lady serving us, Carol, was lovely!

Apart from the fact that the previous occupant of the room had gone home with the room key, probably attached to his car key-ring (idiot), a problem efficiently solved by staff, this stay was great from start to finish. Without exception, all the staff were great, a fabulous breakfast, an omelette the size of a piglet, we would definitely go back.

We stayed here on Sunday May 26th (Bank hotel). We stayed here for one night and the room was lovely, big and spacious. However we did run into an issue. When we returned to our room Sunday night, we got locked in the room. We physically could not get out of the room and the latch wouldn’t turn. This is a fire risk, as we had no way out in the case of a fire. We had to ring reception to come and try to help us get out. However the only person in the hotel for the night doing the nightshift was a young girl, again why is a young girl being left to man the hotel on her own for the night. After ringing reception and explaining we were locked in the room, she came up with some keys. The keys wouldn’t open the door and she was just a panicked as us not knowing how we were going to get out. After me pulling the door and her pushing we managed to get it open, however once the door was open we tested the lock and it was evident that if we shut the door properly again we would be locked in again. Her suggest was for the night to shut the door (not properly) and put a chair in front of it. Again not an ideal solution as this meant anyone would be able to enter our room in the night. An ideal solution would have been that she offered us another room if one was available. Instead we slept with a chair propped us against the door for the night and when we went down for breakfast we had to just shut our door (again not properly) with our personal belongings in the room. Meaning anyone could enter and take our stuff. I paid £175 for one night, to stay in a room which we got locked in and then had to sleep with the door open. When we checked out the next day we explained that we were the room that got locked in. An apology was given but considering we paid £175 for the night and I did not feel safe, you would have expected a bit more, especially since we weren’t even offered an alternative room.

I am reviewing with the help of my partner who is 6 feet tall.. Therefore from his prospective the room we had with slanting roof was a problem, as he had to pay particular attention to not knocking himself out. (the room was on the very top floor {22}. Also there is an issue with dogs. Whilst I don't have a particular problem with them I still would have a preference to not have to sit near by when eating a meal. My partner was put off his breakfast by the smell and also we didn't have enough space between tables. On a positive note. The breakfast was amazing, but would like to have had coffee on the tables rather than having it poured for us. The room was nice and clean. The complimentary tray /box was replenished whilst we stayed.heck out time of 11am was appreciated. Would we stay again? Yes. But we'd definitely make sure that we are away from dogs whilst we were eating.

Food good apparently but not really a village pub anymore. Called in for a pint and although there are four hand pumps there are no kegs attached to them so no proper beer. "We don't sell enough to warrant buying it in". So if you're looking for a meal probably ok but if you're wondering about a pint you'll be disappointed. Shame, it used to be good.....

Portions are sometimes huge, see the seafood risotto for example with a lot of mussels too However flavour was generally lacking, if harmonious cos of how mild it was. Texture of risotto and pasta are almost a pass. Not the most authentic but overall it's passable for UK standards
