We stayed for a few days at Purdy Lodge in September & October. Whilst there, we decided to have dinner there on one of the nights. There is an area of the restaurant which is dog friendly which is great. Staff were pleasant and friendly The starter in Sept was delicious! Sticky Belly Pork & Black Pudding Salad. When it came out you would have thought we were dining in a fine dining restaurant. It was beautifully presented, and a good portion size too. It tasted amazing and the belly pork was soft and tender. It was just a shame when we visited in October it was no longer on the menu. PLEASE BRING IT BACK! The mains and pudding were just as good, but the belly pork was just next level.

Nice food and atmosphere. Special mention to Robert who went above and beyond when one of the granddaughters was unwell. Delayed one meal to allow daughter and son-in-law to swap career duties.

Stopped off at Hook for lunch after visiting Bamburgh Castle. Staff were pleasant and able to answer our gluten free questions. Food was value for money, freshly cooked and served in good time.

We have been 3 times now played crazy golf which was absolutely fine, then every time we go to eat in the diner we are told there’s a party so we can’t make your food until after that…40 minutes the lady said as they hadn’t even started cooking the party food yet…. Doesn’t take long to cook a few extra burgers and chips. Missed out on quite a bit of money as there were other families too. Obviously don’t need the business. It’s always empty when we go too. Won’t be back! Shame!

Been here twice now for Sunday dinner the last couple of months & enjoyed both visits. I had pork both times & deserts were lovely too. Staff were great especially the small lad with the shirt & tie on (sorry for his name)

We needed a bite to eat and a hot drink before going on our boat trip. Always prefer to support independent and local but not sure this was the right choice. £14.50 for 2 cups of tea and 2 teacakes is not unreasonable if service is efficient. However it was slow - very slow. Made worse by waiting so long I thought I would use bathroom whilst I waited. No customer toilets. So to summarise: Slow Expensive No facilities I am happy to say the teacake was at least delicious.
