Great place to stay on the island. Nice room with tea and coffee what more can you want.

Call here often to sit in and enjoy hot fresh fish n chips which are reasonably priced. Never disappointed.

Popped in because I couldn't be bothered to cook. Had gluton free sausages on daughters recommendation as she thought them tasty. I didn't think so, but that may be just my palate. Chips, gravey and tea all good.

Chips were hours old. All dried up and not at all fresh. The fish was nice though and staff pleasant

Went in here on holiday. Food was good but our waitress was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful, and looked after us when my partner had a nosebleed.

Definitely recommend ….as we just had a really good Cod & Chips from them. Reminded me of the taste and quality years back! 😃

A nice, bright, modern fish and chip restaurant. We were seated quickly, and our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was brought out fast, we ordered the Light Special and it was the perfect portion size. The fish was a little greasy on the plate but overall the batter was good, chips were great, sides that were included were tasty. Recommend.

We intended going to Neptune Fish Restaurant but the eat-in area was closed so we went across the road to Hook Fish & Chips where we found they were both owned by the same group. The restaurant was clean and the staff very friendly. We both had pie & chips as a change to the ubiquitous fish & chips and the portions was large and the food very tasty. An excellent experience.

Nice eat in fish and chip shop. Although it was pricy, the staff were friendly and the plates were generous. I had scampi and chips and my husband had cod and chips. We were given bread and butter with both. Dogs are allowed as long as they are well behaved. This place I think closes at 7.45?, so don’t leave it late to eat.

We visited on 16th Sept late afternoon for an early dinner. We were seated straight away and the gentleman who seated us explained he would come to take our order shortly once we had chance to check the menus. We ordered the light bite fish and chip which comes with a drink of tea or coffee. It was a very generous portion for a light bites option. The fish tasted really good and the batter was light and crispy. Would definitely recommend visiting and will be coming back again next time we are in the area

Stopped for early teatime. Service and staff very helpful and friendly . Food was well presented and tasted wonderful . We had the lite bite fish special and there was plenty and very good value for money

Good food, fast and friendly service. Gluten-free is well catered for, which is unusual for a fish shop. Fish was chunky and flavourful.

One of the best fish and chips I've ever had, I went for the light portion and it was still plenty big enough, fantastic price too. Top marks for being dog friendly and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit!

We all enjoyed our visit to Hooks whilst at Seahouses. The light bite fish and chips were a bargain as they came with a drink and were delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient making the meal an enjoyable experience.

Stopped by here with friends and their dog. Excellent food, freshly cooked and tasty. Served with Costa coffee/tea. Very good customer service. Would recommend 👍

The staff were proactive in getting out the ramp to allow my disabled daughter to enter the restaurant, even before we had asked for it. They were exceptionally attentive and accommodating and the food was lovely. All the family enjoyed it, even the fussiest child. Would definitely recommend this place!

We ordered a cod and chips and we were very happy with the quality and price. The food was cooked fresh so there was a short wait.

Visited with wife, both had haddock fillets and chips. Fish was very good fresh from fryer but chips were rubbish, had been standing, looked dried plus 'bitsy'. Food got 3 star rating, 4 star for fish , 2 star for chips. Paid 16.95 each for meal, 3.00 for small 1cup pot of tea and 2.50 for something described as Fanta orange. Meal included slice bread and butter. Not sure I would revisit.

The food was very good and being able to take our dogs in with us was helpful. Just compared you menu prices on your web site and they need updating.

First and last time, came to seahouses for day out and went to hook (takeaway) for lunch, lukewarm, grease tasting chips and a fish that tasted and felt frozen, had better food from other coastal areas and better prices,

Dogs welcome! That lured us in and what a lovely greeting we received. Our booth at the far back was the best seat in the house, meaning our Golden Retriever had space to lay down without being in the way. Our meals - lite bite, scampi, posh fish burger and children's nuggets were all perfectly cooked, the chips especially. Would recommend.

One of the best gluten free fish and chips I have ever had - very light batter, perfectly cooked fish with great chips and even a slice of gluten free bread and butter! Top notch service and dogs allowed.

I collected cod and chips for my family and it really wasn’t good. The cod was really thin and chewy and either the cod or batter had a strange taste. My wife and children wouldn’t even eat theirs! It was just chips for tea for them.

Was really busy and we had to wait a couple of minutes until they had cleared and cleaned a table, did not mind,. I am coeliac and was able to get gluten free jumbo sausage(2) and chips and my husband who does not have a big appetite anymore ordered children's fish and chips. We both had a diet coke which was flat when it arrived, they could not apologise enough and instead of 2 glasses of juice we were given 2 x 500ml bottles. 10/10

Formerly Pinnacles now The Hook. This is our normal place for a fish tea in Seahouses. A little nervous when we saw it had changed ownership but the quality of the food is very good. Lite byte for me and fish cakes for my wife. Batter is light and crispy, portion size is large. Thoroughly recommended. EDIT…. Were back 2 years later and the quality and speed of service are superb. Theres no need to queue at any other restaurant, The Hook delivers high quality fish teas in rapid fashion. Still our goto restaurant in Seahouses. Thoroughly recommended.

Great fish and chips, dogs welcome 👍🏼

We visited Hook for the first time today and are very glad that we did. The staff were all lovely, welcoming and seemed like really good workers. Portion sizes are very generous and prices are reasonable for a seaside location.

Really good, the Fish was excellent, very fresh with a light Batter, my partner is Gluten Free - absolutely no problem with Gluten Free Bread ! Family of 5 everyone was very happy. The service and staff were all excellent, very happy and helpful, would definitely recommend.

Spent a little time and visited Seahouses for the first time. Had a walk along the pier, looked into a view shops and had lunch in Hook fish and chips. We sat inside 8 of us all together. We had to sit in two groups of 4 as no tables big enough for us all. Sat down no problems and service was fast. Lovely greeting and food was delivered hot and quick. Not a single one of us were disappointed. All left with full bellys and ready for ice cream. Shout out to Alex our server nothing was too much for him and had a smile on his face from start to finish.

Good takeaway, quick, efficient and tasty especially the chips and the scampi loved up to my mum's high standards. Disappointed however they couldn't give me a chip butty, I guess they're not allowed to use the burger buns. Would still be willing to try put the restaurant though.

Relatively quick service in takeaway. Fish was cooked nicely. Battered sausage was good, not too oily like some places are. £12.50 for fish and chips and £7.50 for battered sausage and chips.

After a really nice meal our plates were cleared by a memeber of staff even though 1 of us was still eating. This put us off because they could have waited until the whole party had finished eating before clearing our plates. The place wasn't overly busy either so this can't be used as an excuse.

This was probably the best fish and chips I've had in a while, great value too at £44 for two adults and two kids, the clear plate says it all, and it's dog friendly.

Visited with a group of students and they completely looked after us. Food on point and plenty of room to sit and enjoy our meals.

After a poor welcome across the road (“no of course we don’t have vegetarian food we are a fish and chip shop”) we walked over to Hooks and it couldn’t have been more welcoming. Perfect fish and chips. Fish well skinned and filleted and no bones at all. Chips not too greasy. Tables clean,tidy and condiments on hand.

Absolutely a must visit, food is good, service is excellent and dogs are allowed, and sausages cooked just for your pet.

The food was beautiful. The menu had gluten free battered sausage and it's a shame the rest of the battered menu items such as fish was not an option.

Staff are very helpful. The food is wonderful try the posh fish butty well worth the money and there tartare sauce is beautiful. Visited it twice while we were on holiday. Wonderful place to eat

We visited Hook on a recent trip to Seahouses as it was one of the only Fish and Chip restaurants in the area that welcomed dogs and how glad we are that we did visit. The welcome was very warm and friendly (especially for the dog!). We were seated quickly and given time to browse the menu. After ordering, the drinks arrived almost instantly and the food not long after. The food was hot and incredibly fresh and tasty. The batter on the fish was perfect! It was a nice touch that bread and butter was included. The gentleman who served us (sorry, can't remember his name) was lovely and spent plenty of time talking with us and telling us about his dog too! Overall, a really great experience and would definitely visit again if we were in the area.

Firstly, the food was awesome! fresh and tasted really great and very well priced, very kid friendly restaurant with plenty of space for high chairs, pushchairs etc. We were sat down and served with both food and drinks within 15 minutes, which we were very surprised at and shall be back for more!

Fish and chips straight from the friers to your table. Cheerful, friendly service; avoids the queues for the takeaway.

Excellent & you can take your dog

Absolutely delicious small plate special, although not so small. 2 cod fillets, chips, mushy peas, homemade tartar sauce, bread and butter, and a pot of tea. Great, friendly service. I highly recommend you try this place out.

We've been going to this restaurant for over 20 years - never again. At the booth next to us, there was a human, then a large dog, then another human. The dog was sitting up at the table, on the seating, like a human diner. The waitress brought their food, including a sausage for the dog. She said the dog had to eat it off the floor, but the dog objected to having to get down and barked so long and so loud that we couldn't hear each other at our own table. It did the same again when a dog walked by outside. There was also also another dog a few tables along squealing and begging for food. It felt like we were eating in a zoo, and really unpleasantly unhygienic. It's one thing to have a dog under a pub table, another to have it sitting up at the table.

We enjoyed a really delicious meal here yesterday. Perfectly cooked fish and chips, beautifully presented. Lovely tea from pots that pour without dripping! All staff were polite, smiling and friendly. Dog friendly too! Very happy to recommend this restaurant.

Would not eat in here as allow dogs in while eating im not eating in a place with dog hair etc

Got a table straight away despite it being a busy lunchtime. Order was taken in good time and food arrived quickly and was hot. Staff were lovely, food was amazing, price wasn't too bad. Was a little noisy but was busy.

Staying in the area and looking for somewhere to eat. We had our dogs with us so sometimes finding a restaurant that’s dog friendly can be a struggle. Delighted to have found Hooks that is very dog friendly and served delicious, fresh food. Service was friendly (the dogs even got a biscuit) and very fast. Restaurant was bright and spacious and clean. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

Went in for takeaway and the older woman serving no smile not polite had to ask if they were doing gluten free (you ether do it or don't) I then asked for some on the squid and was told we can but will be sit in price! Why!? I'm not having waitress service you not cleaning up after me I'm taking it away. So I left and went to Lewiss up the road polite service with a smile doesn't cost anything does it We won't be back

I was looking for lunch, and of the available eating places in the centre of the village, this one looked the cleanest. It was, disappointingly, more like a slightly up-market McDonald's. The servers were friendly and young, doing holiday jobs for what must be minimum wage, and I felt sorry for them in the busy restaurant. The food was unadorned and thrown together, and the open kitchen looked quite chaotic. It was OK, but more fuel than food.

Rude waitress and said it's closed at 7 even it states 8 pm everywhere else. Won't recommend

Lovely dog friendly fish & chip restaurant (and a take away). We chose to eat in, and dogs are allowed inside. The staff were welcoming, and friendly. It was great to see a ‘light bites’ option which was a smaller portion. The food was lovely, quick service, and hot! We’d return here again.

Dinner out for 5 and the food was fresh and quick, big portions too for 3 hungry teenagers, friendly and efficient service

The food was very nice and the service was unbelievably fast, we were given our food almost instantly and it came out hot which was a surprise considering the speed, we were given the wrong order at first but it was replaced quickly Quite expensive at nearly £40 for two people

Delicious fish but waited for AGES for takeaway even though we were the only ones in there with 2 tables taken in the restaurant. Overpriced and portions small. Double the staff to customers. Staff unfriendly and uncommunicative. Generally disappointing. Avoid as there are much better places nearby.

Great food and lovely serving staff minus a rather abrupt older lady who was quite rude and made us feel unwelcome. Given the competition in Seahouses, I very much doubt we will be back.

The food was brilliant. The chicken burger was perfect, the scampi amazing and the salt and pepper squid was delicious. Dog friendly inside so we could sit in the warm and eat and drink in comfort. Will be going back during our stay.
