Lovely little place. Called after a beach walk from Seahouses and wanted a simple lunch. Family of four and was allowed to take our dog in whilst we ate sandwiches and ice cream. We got seats inside as was sunny so most people wanted to be out but it is very small. Staff were courteous and kept very busy as constant queues out the door. Cost £40 for four sandwiches, ice creams and drinks - but then we are in prime Bamburgh space ! Was lovely though and just what we wanted. Ice cream was amazing !! Would go back.

Delicious ice cream! Not much more to be said but the choice of ice creams and sorbets was great, was particularly impressed that when we asked for sorbet the friendly staff checked if was for an allergy reason. The ice-cream was delicious and really good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Great ice cream, lovely flavours to choose from and definitely worth a visit. The reason for the low rated review is that it was a shame about one member of staff with short grey hair who was extremely rude to a senior member of our party who she made it very clear was in her way whilst looking at the flavours of ice cream to choose. I suggest if they want to make people queue in the doorway with a barrier in the middle that the staff are a bit more polite to their paying customers or change the layout.

We've stopped here a few times while walking around Bamburgh and always enjoyed their products. This visit I had a latte which was very good. And also had a cranberry and cinnamon cookie dough square which was really really good! Lovely cinnamon flavour with lots of pieces of cranberry and had a really good texture (almost more like flapjack then cookie dough) Will definitely come back again next time we're in the area!

This place is a gem for ice cream in Bamburgh. In fact, I believe it’s the only real ice cream shop in Bamburgh. However, it definitely doesn’t disappoint. It’s really easy to access and is a cosy small place. Never tried alternative food/drink other than ice cream. Queue can get big but only as a result of the small inside so don’t be put off. Massive variety of flavours, many of which are way above standard and very delicious. My personal favourites include the white chocolate flake and the Creme Egg I had last year (I’m guessing some flavours change regularly). Scoops are massive and very good value - with a wide range of cones and tubs available. A must when visiting Bamburgh.

A nice coffee shop with a few extra sandwiches, snacks and ice creams. Coffee, hot chocolates and soft drinks all good quality. 1 loo, so when it’s busy there becomes a long line quickly.

Although the cafe was still serving “takeouts” to customers, it had just closed the toilets and when I asked if I could take my adult son with autism and diabetes to use them, the woman behind the counter refused on the grounds they had just been cleaned. It might be part of their “regulations” but kindness costs nothing compared to the extortionate price they charged for three polystyrene cups of tea and a couple of small ice creams and cakes. The star I have allocated goes to the young waiter who fell over himself to be polite but we won’t be going back there again.

We chose this spot for lunch whilst visiting Bamburgh, however, I would not recommend it for lunch based on our experience. I first ordered a coronation chicken sandwich but was advised there was not any left. I then changed to a tuna mayonnaise sandwich and paid extra for the salad. Unfortunately it was not a sandwich but a rather dry bap with a quite tasteless filling and very minimal salad, despite paying extra for it. My husband had a falafel wrap with mango chutney. However, he said it was very dry and quite difficult to eat. The redeeming feature of Wyndenwell however was the ice cream. I took a two scoop away with me as we left and it was delicious! So five stars for ice cream and 2 stars for lunch. Sorry for negative feedback.

Called in while visiting Bamburgh over the weekend for an ice cream on a hot afternoon. Vast array of flavours on offer and the young guy serving was very polite and chatty. The ice-cream was a little soft however but delicious flavour. Definitely call again.

Very rude older lady told us off first for sitting down when they were stopping serving indoors (as though we should know, we live 100s of miles away so not aware of this cafes serving times), but begrudgingly said we could buy drinks "if we were quick drinking them". We later took our drinks outside as it was hot inside and an outside table became free, and she marched outside after us to tell us in front of our children and other customers we were not allowed to take our cups outside. Her manner was unnecessarily rude and offensive, and we were quite upset. Another customer looked quite shocked by her outburst. Not a good advert for Bamburgh I'm afraid.

Staff very rude, my order was incorrect and I informed them. They said I had definitely ordered the coffee because that is what they had written down. The man then proceeded to abruptly place my coffee (which was not my order) on the table, turned his back and walked away. I would definitely NOT recommended this place!

This place is let down badly by very rude staff. One girl in particular, visibly rolled her eyes and sighed when I asked if I could have extra milk in my coffee. She went to grab the cup from our table outside, and in doing so, she collided with my hand and the hot coffee spilled out of the cup and dropped onto our dog who was sitting at our feet. Not even an apology or a check to see if our dog was okay, just a nasty look thrown in our direction as she walked away with the cup. Shocking! I see quite a few reviews of the same nature here so maybe a review of their staff would be an idea. I'll not be back for sure, there are plenty of other, friendlier places to take a break.

We took a trip to the coast from staying near Kielder Water. Having walked from Seahouses to Bamburgh, we were in need of some refreshment. On all our visits to this area we have always stopped at Wyndenwell, never disappoints on friendliness, service and the lovely coffee. Keep up the great work.

A lucky find, wandered in delicious millionaires shortbread and scones, good covid care, cheerful staff

After a great walk along the beach, we called in at Wyndenwell for a ice cream and a can of pop. I had the Rocky Road ice cream and it were great . We sat outside to eat it. But it were windy, nearly blew it away. But it was still great.

We only stopped in here for food on the way out of Bamburgh but the white chocolate & raspberry muffin was so nice, we wanted more!! Was only let down by the softness of the pastel de nata .... it's meant to be crispy filo and it was soft and chewy.

We nipped into Wyndenwell whilst passing for a latte and a sit down. The guys serving are doing a brilliant job due to the new covid restrictions by limiting customers in the store at one time. Especially given the amount of people that seem to struggle with this.The latte was fantastic and we settled on a scone which again, was delicious.We also witnessed an epic 'Karen' battle which was handled wonderfully by staff.#alwayswatching

We visited on a warm Tuesday afternoon in September after walking from Seahouses. As we got more than a little warmed up from the walk an ice cream was in order!I had salted caramel and vanilla and my wife had chocolate orange and lemon meringue. All of the flavours were exceptional, the ice cream was very smooth and creamy and definitely a step up from that of any of the major ice cream brands.Service was swift despite the understandable queue and covid19 arrangements were in place and being followed.We took our ice creams outside and enjoyed them in the sunshine and they really were the tonic needed before setting off on the walk back to Seahouses.

After a long walk on the beach we saw this place had a few table outside so thought we'd have a look.I thought I wanted a coffee but after seeing the massive selection of ice cream flavours I had to have one!I got the Eton mess ice cream and it was really really good. Lovely flavour and texture and was the creamiest ice cream I've had.My wife got the Rocky road ice cream which was also really creamy and tasty.The one way queue was well organised and clear (with a blackboard outside with their rules on) and the staff were really polite.Will definitely come back for more ice cream next time I'm in Bamburgh!

Where do you start? firstly I'm frankly shocked at 'Andrea T' s review of 'The Wyndenwell & would strongly recommend Trip Advisor to withdraw such a petty,spiteful piece of slander (you only have to check her other reviews to see there's an agenda going on). Anyway back to The Wyndenwell, brilliant friendly service, beautiful shop/cafe and if you sit outside one of the finest views ever. Beckleberries icecream is amazing offering loads of unique flavours & the cakes to die for. When I was there the staff were run off their feet with the amount of customers queuing for icecream, it was a hot day too but they were friendly, humerous & made everyone welcome. Brilliant

Lucky enough to have Wyndenwell over road from our holiday home, so popped over every day for our regular takeaway caffeine intake. Whole family loved their coffee (supplied by Ouseburn Coffee), particularly recommend latte and cortado.

I arrived at the cafe at 8.29am, cafe wasn’t open, I stood outside waiting as I only wanted a latte to takeaway. The owner came to the door asking what I wanted, he told me he wasn’t open as he had things to do! He proceeded to walk past me putting tables and chairs out, hanging signs up, blackboards etc, there was also another person there who wasn’t capable of working the coffee machine as I was told! This man is rude and awful, I’m not a tourist, I live in bamburgh every weekend, in fact I’m in the cafe often for a takeaway latte, whatever happened to customer care, we don’t have it anymore! THIS CAFE OPENS AT 9AM

We stumbled upon this cafe and it ticked every box. The cup of tea was the best I'd had on our trip to Northumberland and there were many tempting cakes to choose from. The decor had a modern vibe and the music was great. One thing I need to mention is that the toilet was a decent size with baby changing unit. I would love to return to have lunch. Next time!

Really well prepared for Covid and social distancing, but still making it a good experience to buy coffee and ice cream - we’ll done. Other place in Bamburgh like the Copper Kettle should visit you and find out how to adhere to social distancing properly.

Have visited this ice cream shop on many occasions during our holidays to Bamburgh over the last five years. It’s always a treat to look forward to after a long walk on the beach.The staff are always polite and helpful.One small thing that could make our visits there much better would be vegan ice cream. Even if they only do one flavour then my vegan daughter wouldn’t feel left out.They do gluten free but not dairy free. I find this strange as there are many vegans and many people with dairy allergies. I usually have the dairy free options at home so I’m pretty sure there are a lot of people would really appreciate a dairy free option. They do two flavours of sorbet but it’s not the same as having an ice cream.Apart from that one thing which is easily remedied, lovely little cafe/ice cream shop.

Takeaway only due to COVID, had toastie sandwich and coffee both were lovely, as were the staff. Ate on a bench outside on the grass with a lovely view of Bamburgh castle in the sunshine, lovely way to pass an hour

Called in many times for coffee and their mint choc chip ice cream, fantastic, served by Noel and Cameron who are always welcoming despite it being extremely busy.

After a couple of hours walking the coastal routes we stopped by for coffee and scones. Of all the places on the mains street, Wyndenwell looked like what we were after. I ordered an Americano and a Latte, 2 fruit scones with butter and one jam. We got 2 lattes and 2 jams. When I queried I was told that I had been charged for 2 lattes . Doesn’t mean I ordered 2 lattes. Like the staff member said - they usually drink it anyway! That aside, the coffee was really nice and the scones huge and tasty. At £8.60 I found it reasonable for what we had. Quirky surroundings but the customer is obviously not always right!!

Visiting Bamburgh as our son & girlfriend wanted to visit the castle, while we went for a walk on the beach. Afterwards we stopped at Wyndenwell, having visited a couple of years ago. The cafe is lovely with rustic furniture, plenty of room along with being light & airy. Had a peppermint tea and hubby & I shared a chocolate chip shortbread & a millionaires shortbread they were both delicious, the teenagers enjoyed their's as well. Great service & value. Highly recommend.

We visited here 3 times over the course of a week. The ice creams and scones are beautiful. There is a large choice of ice cream flavours. I loved the chocolate orange one! On the Saturday of the August bank holiday the queue went to the back of the shop but it moved really quickly and the staff were still pleasant even though it looked like they’d had a busy dayIt’s a must if you’re stopping off in Bamburgh

This place is extraordinary!! The ice cream is without doubt the best. Choice of flavours, the usual culprits but for the more adventurous of us, new ones. Iron brew was one on the menu this year together with Bamburgh Berry! We do takeaway as have dogs and can highly recommend both the coffee and the hot chocolate. This place is a must for anyone who goes to Bamburgh.

Delicious ice cream, it gets super busy in peak summer so be prepared to queue for a little while it’s worth it. There’s loads of flavours to choose from the salted caramel, candy floss and kinder are lovely.

I wasn’t expecting much from this place when I stopped by. But what a nice surprise. I was supposed to stop only for coffee but the sandwiches looked really good. And it tasted great too. The coffee was also really nice.This place is really friendly place for everyone. You will not miss it since it is on the Brambugh main street. I highly recommend it.
