The best restaurants in Newcastle upon Tyne North East

Went for a meal here on Sunday night on the recommendation of a friend from Edinburgh. I must say the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Moreover, the staff were absolutely superb. Attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend if you are in Newcastle.

We went for dinner on Friday last week, the food was excellent, and the service was too. We are both veggie and so tried pretty much every vegetarian dish on the small plates menu. The food was very tasty, maybe a bit too fussy if I was going to be over critical. The menu was small plates, a bit like tapas. I have to say it seemed a bit pricey, especially as it was just veg. Overall the experience was really nice, the venue is great too and in a great location for a pre dinner drink in one of the Ouseburn pubs. Would definitely recommend for vegetarians, but be prepared to spend some cash. Also, would be good to see some veggie options on the large plates menu.

During restaurant week - lovely fodo, decor and atmosphere.

Lovely pizzeria in Heaton. Really enjoyed my potato pizza. The small plates and desserts also sounded good but we were far too full to try any.

Incredible food, wonderful staff. Dog friendly! Highly recommended.

Popped in here for a coffee with my partner a while ago and it was such a lovely little cafe, can't wait for it to reopen so we can try the food

Keto is my go-to in town, whether it's for a workday escape with my work bestie, a boost after a tough workout, or a rainy day mood lift. The teriyaki salmon, eel, and chicken are all fantastic, especially with their fried rice (not your typical egg fried rice, but way better! You won’t regret the upgrade). I haven’t tried the udon yet, but the ramen is equally amazing. If you’re in town, definitely give it a try! Update: The staff are amazingly friendly, even during peak rush hours! They’re incredibly efficient, which seems almost impossible, but it’s clear they’re both passionate and professional. 5/5. A+ team!

My husband arranged a surprise birthday party for me at Lovage where they had to mass cater for for our guests. They provided the most delicious meal for our guests which was consistent with the very high standard of food we always have received at Lovage. Every fillet steak was cooked to perfection and came with the most wonderful side dishes. The starters were perfect and the sous chef made the most delicious fresh cakes for our celebration. I’ve had wonderful feedback from my guests with some even saying it was the best meal they have had in their life. Service was excellent and nobody’s glass went empty all night. Special thanks for my Margarita which was ready for me on arrival … clearly my reputation precedes me! Thank you for making my special birthday a memorable one 🥂

Delicious foods in Sri Lankan style with different spicy levels. Great customer service and easy vehicle parking. After a long time we enjoy with amazing Sri Lankan foods with masala tea.

Good Italian food made with good quality ingredients. Menu is a little small but better this than a large poor menu. Service was fast and the only real "complaint" was not being shown the specials menu. Quite a small venue so nice for couples but maybe not for larger groups.

Literally the best coffee in Newcastle and the staff are always lovely. Baked goods are always nice too!

Such a cool place with the best lemon meringue pie ever, even bought some to bring back to Manchester with me!
