Love this place! They make good coffee!

The ice-cream is very good but once that leaves, just go to one of the many surrounding coffee places

By far the best coffee shop in Newcastle. Staff are great and the food options (including ice cream) make it a great all round place. But the coffee tops the lot!

An amazing cafe on acorn road. Has a great range of coffees and other drinks. Great customer service and nice seating. Has a selection of flavours of the best ice cream that I've ever tasted, wonderful on a nice summers day. 10/10

A must visit when in the area. The coffee is top quality!! The baked goods and ice cream are also delicious. Staff are super friendly, and I love that there is so much local produce available. Dogs are welcome with bowls left in the outdoor areas. Try it, you won't regret it!

Lovely team, been regularly visiting for 2 and a half years or so. It’s definitely the best coffee in Newcastle and surrounding areas !! I love coffee and love trying new places, my wife and I always look up most popular coffee shops to try and local is by far number 1. I cannot emphasise how lovely their team is, not just with us customers but also the family vibe they give when treating each other. I really love how they know the names and orders of their regulars, I feel like it’s because they are all genuine and kind. I must say, my daughter’s babycino has been given to us for free multiple times, and promptly replaced without charge when she’s dropped it. Finally , they are always happy to accommodate. For example, this one day my wife wasn’t feeling very well and wanted a coffee super early (8am) and because they know what she does for living and is in a rush they prepared her coffee for her and gave it with no charge !! 5/5 all round ! Keep up the good work

If you want a warming welcome and community atmosphere to enjoy incredible coffee, LOCAL coffee is the go to!! I only occasionally visited the shop as it was a bit out the way for myself, but after having such a lovely experience at their 9am Sunday run club from both the LOCAL team and other runners, It’s become my go to - and is worth the detour!! Would also recommend the baked goods - they’re incredible! 🫶

Great coffee shop with a good variety of local breweries coffee along with some more niche coffee. Ideal for a takeout or even a sit in when the weathers good ( very dependent of NCL weather). Overall wicked 🤘🏼

I absolutely love Local. The coffee is amongst, if not THE best in Newcastle, you can buy lots of speciality coffee in store too as well as lots of other local treats. My go to for presents. The overnight oats are also stunning!!!

The best coffee in Newcastle, without a doubt! Amazing selection of pastries and meals as well, and a brilliant showcase of products from local businesses- it's our go to for buying gifts. We moved to Newcastle last summer and we felt a big gap to find our "local" coffee shop again, and then we discovered Local (clue is in the name :D ). Super friendly staff and overall great vibes. From the moment you walk in, you can see how much Local is a part of everyone's daily lives (including ours)

I just moved to Newcastle from Malmö, Sweden, one great city to another. But I was worried that I wouldn't get that same cozy home feeling that comes with all the small local stores... But then my partner showed me LOCAL, and I felt that home feeling straight away. Wonderful social atmosphere, great selection of beer & wine, tasty snacks, and best of all, coffee that just makes you go to that relaxed state of mind. If you haven't been to LOCAL, definitely give them a visit! <3

Worst coffee I’ve had in ages. I’d rather have Costa and that’s saying something! (I wouldn’t, I’d rather go without) It’s so bitter.. probably the third time we’ve tried this place - but it’s genuinely undrinkable. Cakes are ok. The door is in a very awkward place which makes it more annoying, obviously difficult to move/change though. Staff are always nice. Just disappointing that there’s no small businesses that do decent coffee. Settling for a chain feels bad sometimes. But we did end up going to Nero… so paying twice for coffee but only drinking the latter. It’s usually busy so, that’s good 👍

A beautifully run local cafe. Millie’s eats are the perfect lunch time grab and go. The atmosphere in local is always so warm and welcoming. There is also a run club out of here on a Sunday which is the most inclusive and friendly run club I’ve been to in the area. Get yourself down for great coffee and great vibes ⭐️

My favourite coffee shop in Newcastle! Great for filter coffee, which they change up all the time. I also get my coffee beans from here and they’ll grind to suit whatever you use at home. Lots of really good gifts too, I’ll usually pick up a bottle of wine and a few local beers when I’m passing. Super friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere!

Remembering your go to drink (dark hot choc always - trust me it’s amazing), doorstep delivery whilst isolating with covid, providing you with great wine/beer/coffee recommendations, these guys go above and beyond. my favourite coffee shop, most likely ever. the staff are extremely welcoming every time and welcome you wish smiley face on every return. from going through almost the entire menu i can safely say that the cookies are a must, with the seasonal mini egg flavour awaiting its come back every year, and i must say hands down the greatest chai latte. but really something for everyone, orange juice to a array of coffee selections to buy. you cannot go wrong !

Honestly one of my favourite coffee spots in Newcastle. I’ve been going here since it opened and it’s been amazing to say the growth of local. I love Local! The staff, coffee and atmosphere are always top tier. Sunday run club has become a weekly ritual thanks to the friendly and wholesome vibe Guy, Kate and the team have created. The post run OJ also makes that 8am alarm on a Sunday worth it!

Local NCL is my go to coffee shop and they never disappoint, the overnight oats are so good you can get various toppings to go with them, also not to forget the banana bread or cookies are 10/10, Always a good service and the staff are super friendly!

Just found this little gem, and boy do we love it! The ice-cream is heavenly, the sour dough bread is absolutely delicious. I look forward to making this my go to coffee shop. The only thing that is a little disappointing, is that the loyalty app is only for Iphone users.

I really like coffee, and I'd put LOCAL in my top three places in and around Newcastle, alongside OCC in Heaton and North Shore in the Grainger Market. On top of the good coffee they've got loads of nice stuff in like cookies/cakes/sandwiches/icecream, wines and beers, locally made preserves, chocolate, and a big selection of coffee beans from loads of different roasters. 10/10 would recommend.

I got into a very near car accident on the street outside of this cafe and the staff were incredibly kind to me afterwards and offered us free drinks. Would recommend this shop to everyone (the hot chocolate I got was also top tier!)

Gorgeous cafe serving elite coffee and food, absolute must-visit in Jesmond! The overnight oats were delicious with loads of toppings to choose from and we also shared a toastie which was divine. Really dog friendly and the place is full to the brim with products to take away, all from independent brands. I couldn't resist buying a couple of bottles of red wine which were really reasonably priced and will make lovely gifts as the label is really pretty and quirky. Staff were absolutely lovely too, 10/10.
