Fantastic cafe with affordable and really tasty breakfasts and lunches

This is an absolutely excellent cafe. The staff were friendly and greeted us nicely. Food was tasty with generous portions, and really excellent value on top of that. My wife had the Yoghurt Pancakes and I had Eggs Santiago. We swapped half way through to get a taste of the two dishes. We struggled to finish everything but it was really good. It's busy here for a very good reason.

This cafe is gorgeous in lots of ways AND run by Smile for Life /volunteers supporting young people with learning difficulties. I got a lovely vegan brownie which was really rich and yummy. Prices are great. The cooked food looked spot on so will be trying that next time. They stop serving cooked food at 230 at the moment. Service is very friendly and attentive. They are dog and family friendly. The setting is gorgeous, a lovely bright room with comfortable pretty furnishings. Toilets were really nice too.

Lovely little hidden gem in the old firestation in Gosforth. Very nice lemon loaf, which was gluten-free and gorgeous cup of coffee.

I cannot tell you just how good this place is. The atmosphere is great but the food is even better. Josh is an hilarious and well organised host and Lewis is also brilliant at his job. I think the owners/managers of Cafe Beam should be congratulated for what they do. Don't ever change.

We visited on a Saturday lunch and had a thoroughly lovely time. Cakes, fry ups, sandwiches and great coffee were enjoyed. The staff were lovely, attentive and super friendly. A new fave and we’ll be back.

Came in yesterday, was our first visit and not our last. Staff professional and friendly and very attentive, in fact the most attentive service I've had in awhile. Food excellent and gorgeous flat whites! And toilet immaculate. 5*****

I like cafe beam don’t get me wrong. Its great to support people into employment being neurodiverse myself and have a learning disability I appreciate the struggles people get in this very difficult world we live in where its ever more difficult to find work with more people and less jobs. However last Saturday the service was super slow. We were informed it would take a little longer than usual for our order a few coffees, 2 bacon sandwiches, porridge and 2 cakes that were in a glass cover next to the till. I have no problem about this especially if I am aware, the layout and decor is lovely in the place, and I can talk away. We waited just over a 1hr. As we sat down we were welcomed by our host, the next table arrived next to us. They were served promptly after us. They too waited nearly as long as us. One of the staff then went over and said to them we are sorry for your wait can we get you some complimentary coffees? Of course we looked and thought they might ask us the same. Nothing…my children asked if they might ask us since we had waited longer….nope….Eventually when we were given our food, a new waiter said sorry for the wait. The food was nice, but it wasn’t anything complicated, being a small cosy place there was 6 staff and I didn’t really get why it had taken so long because it wasn’t busy (1230 by this point when food arrived) and after we arrived only 2 more parties arrived of people (7people). My relative went over and paid up in the end happy with his sandwich so thats a good point :) Certainly not the best experience this time round. Just like to point out these things for suggestions / improvement. I’ll definitely come back but not in a hurry thats all.

Loved it! What a fantastic initiative for young people with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties. I popped in for breakfast and was warmly greeted by the friendly hardworking team. I ordered eggs benedict which was huge! and a coffee. The staff made a real fuss of the dog too offering water and treats. Thank you for a lovely experience, can't wait to come back soon ❤️

What an absolute find this place was and you literally could not fault it in any way at all. Food and drinks were excellent, gives value for money but without a doubt its prize asset are the staff who are faultless in every way and you leave with the great satisfaction that you have contributed in a small way yourself. Will definitely return and highly reccommend.

Excellent combination of food and very friendly service. …and, the place is also dog friendly ! If you’re in the neighborhood, jump in. You will not regret it.

The café Behan is a very special restaurant and I’ve used it at least three or four times a year to great satisfaction the services phenomenal. The food prices are low and the quality is brilliant.

We were there by chance with our dog and were very satisfied. The staff was very nice and there was water for the dog and even an extra dog menu for the dog - very great Jerry gives 5 paws

The happiest cafe I've ever been to! The food (and coffee) was outstanding, but the staff and atmosphere really make it something special. Everyone genuinely looked really happy to be there and there was such a buzz around the place. Credit to the chef for the delicious food and wonderful presentation. I can't wait to come back again soon!

Beautiful vibrant cafe with a wonderful atmosphere. I’ve only had a brief breakfast but it was delicious and beautifully presented and the coffee was good. You’re spoilt for choice in Gosforth for awesome cafes but this is one of the top ones. If you’re sound sensitive it can be noisy but that’s part of its vibe. Great place.

Wonderful cafe - you’ll be served by colleagues learning the trade. They’re all friendly, helpful and attentive. What’s even better is the food is fantastic. All with a lovely chilled out vibe. My favourite breakfast spot in Newcastle.

The best eggs florentine, exactly as requested. The bacon sandwich was huge for the price. Our server Ross was an absolute delight. He took our order with enthusiasm and professionalism. Fantastic food.

It's always good service here. Great food and drink options too. Although we usually have the avocado on sourdough because it's always so tasty. Only a small venue but we usually get a table.

My daughter and I shared the yogurt and fruit pancakes and smashed avocado on toast. Genuinely the best I have had. Service was quick and the servers were an absolute delight. Looking forward to our next visit.

A nice quiet cafe tucked away in Gosforth. Very friendly and efficient staff. A good selection of meals and snacks and space for the younger children to play. Also a mini enclosure holding Willow the cow, goats, rabbits and piglets to keep the little ones amused.

Recently visited here for the first time. It’s such a lovely little cafe with fabulous staff. The food was delicious and I cannot wait to return.

Fantastic gem situated on the North end of Gosforth High Street. A very welcoming place that provides not only excellent food but valuable training and life skills for young people with disabilities and learning difficulties. I would certainly recommend a visit,you will not be disappointed. Very reasonably priced.

As a family we couldn't rate Cafe any higher. The food is delicious and unbelievable value for money. Kate and James are incredibly talented chefs. The front of house team truly make you feel valued and their level of customer service is unrivalled anywhere in the north east.

A lovely hidden gem on the high street. I read a previous review that said good breakfast and an outside area to eat and I was sold! We ordered the full English which was divine and the eggs benedict were cooked to perfection. The toilets were really well kept and the whole place was just a good vibe. I was so happy we stopped here - why waste your time walking down the high street when this is one of the first places that greet you!

My first visit to Cafe Beam today, and I’ll certainly be visiting again. My coffee and scone were delicious, and the service with a smile was excellent.

It was amazing! The staff was super friendly and the food was excellent. Perfect for any occasion. The portions are very filling and you can even bring your dog along!

What a fantastic place that just makes you beam. The food is fantastic- freshly cooked so you might have to wait if busy. The venue is warm and cosy - again it could get busy. BUT I AM PLEASED TO SUPPORT. Many of the team have special needs and this is a great enterprise to give them experience and support and practice many skills. Thankyou to those who are behind this you are doing a great job.

I had to try an actual English breakfast while on vacation in England and I am glad we stopped at this Cafe. The breakfast was very good and the people were very friendly. Luckily, the Cafe was within walking distance from the apartment we rented because there is very LIMITED parking around it. I believe I got more food for my money at this Cafe than I get back in America.

My kids pancakes looked amazing and the vegetarian breakfast I got was gorgeous, fresh and everything was perfectly seasoned. Thank you for a lovely time and I'll be back again soon!

Popped in here today with a colleague and the disabled lad we support and it was a brilliant experience. The staff are absolutely wonderful and are very attentive, and the food (and coffees) were amazing. Our compliments to the chef. It was also so wonderful to see how dog friendly the place is - with one lucky dog being given plenty of cool water and a big bowl of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. 10/10 See you all again very soon. Cafe Beam is part of the smile for life charity and offers young people with a variety of disabilities and learning difficulties work placements to support them in seeking full time employment, I was intrigued, and after hearing good things, me and my wife called in for breakfast, shown to our table by a young enthusiastic lad who was right on point, ordered a tea and a coffee, my wife had poached eggs on smashed avocado, eggs perfect, she said her breakfast was a ten out of ten, I ordered the full english, all the elements on my plate perfection, I was really taken back at how good the quality was, a wonderful little cafe with wonderful staff, well done cafe beam.

Café Beam is a truly special place to visit. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is so warm and friendly it just makes you smile. The menu is amazing (student-friendly prices!), and the staff do a great job of serving and attending to...

I have been a few times now. I love the cheese scones and cappuccino. I love the staff and the customers alike. The dogs who frequent there are fab too. Not to be missed. Great quality, service and prices.
