This is our favourite place for a quick meal prior to early football matches. It’s spotless, very friendly and the food is fantastic. We haven’t had anything yet we disliked. I also tried my first Mogu Mogu Lychee Drink which I love! Wish this was in Blyth!

Quick, affordable, and delicious asian rice and noodle bowls. Pretty good portion sizes. I ordered the peanut chicken rice bowl. Super close to Northumbria Uni. Will definitely go back

Wow! It’s really tasty and the meat is nice and tender! The person who was at the front is really kind and jolly! I recommend this place!! The rice is scrumptious and so is everything else!

The food here is incredible and the staff are some of the friendliest people I’ve met , the owner should be proud to have such excellent staff and such delicious tasting food. This is now a place I visit weekly when near by and it’s affordable for students like myself . The miso soup is incredible - I’m always sceptical of trying miso soup as a lot of places make it too strong or not strong enough , but this place makes it perfectly, the crispy tofu is a must for me , it’s sweet and savoury 10/10.

First time to try this resto and I highly recommend. Got this tasty spicy salmon noodles for around £8 (very affordable for a salmon dish!). The service was great and speedy. Looking forward to going back and trying other dishes!

I had the salmon tare rice bowl as my first time being here. Sad because it was after the dentist so couldn't enjoy it fully but the flavour food service was all really good. Can't wait to come back and try even more of the menu.

Very great place! because of how instant and quick the service is, your food comes out straight hot, fresh and ready in like 3 minutes. I have never expected such service to be this fast. I always get the Chicken Katsu Rice Bowl dish. Chicken is soft, outer breading is very yummy, the rice is very yummy, the sauce is very yummy. I have tried beef noodles bowl dishes before and it's very amazing. Plus, the nice gentleman at the back of the counter at some days when he's handling the customer's orders is the best guy ever, he is like my 2nd father, only if he was white like me :3 Great food, always will come back!

Favourite place to go in Newcastle. The food is always so nice and comforting, at a great price as well! I have been a regular for quite some time now and there hasn’t been a time that I left disappointed. On top of amazing food, the staff is great - very friendly, attentive and caring. This applies to everyone all the way from the till to the kitchen, and the owner is the nicest person on Earth who doesn’t have a single bad bone in his body, he will always treat you like a friend and you can tell that he absolutely loves what he does. It being a family business instead of a bigger chain makes the experience so much more personal and it feels great to support it knowing well it deserves all the support it can get. I always recommend this place to my friends and thought I’d leave a review to recommend this place to everyone who wants to find a good place to have a great experience and make their day better. You will always feel so welcome here and will never leave disappointed! Thank you for your always amazing service!

I found the food a little on the plain side. Personally, I would have appreciated a more interesting noodle broth and garnishes. Other than that the place was clean, friendly and efficient.

I had beef curry noodles and gyudon. The curry wasn't bad, but it tasted a bit like paprika and was too salty. It was completely different from the curry udon I had in Japan. And I don't know who cooks the noodles, but they always break down every time I eat them. And the Gyudon was disgusting. Don't expect the taste of Japanese gyudon. It was a taste that I really didn't want to chew. The meat tasted similar to soybean meat and was tough.

We were just searching at first some noodle soup that time when we visited for it was a cold afternoon. We bumped into this restaurant, and voila!!! 👏👏👏👏 Food was really tasty. It’s a budget friendly. I even made it personalize since I can’t tolerate spicy, so they made the dish not spicy 🤭🤭🤭. The space also is warm and cozy 🥰🥰🥰 All in all 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Not a lot of vegetarian options and for some reason we were given duck dumplings even though we didn't order that. A bit confused why, we weren't charged for them either. but we just got them boxed up and gave them to someone homeless. The food was ok, the drinks were limited and unpleasant though. but a decent experience overall!♥️

Excellent tasting dumplings! I wish that there are more pieces! The broth also has a clear and refreshing taste to it. The cashier lady was very nice. She saw that I was texting and waiting for someone to come, so she gave me 2 menus to look at first! Restaurant service and food are all 10/10! Worth the 7£+!

The staff in Kato are fantastic! Food is always prepared super fast even when the place is packed full and queue out the door. The food is super tasty and the price is amazing in comparison to places like Nudo who charge £13 for a Katsu! Thank you Kato for the amazing service 🙏🏼!

Hidden gem! Not many people know about Kato, but it’s a fantastic little restaurant with friendly staff and delicious rice bowls. Food options are really good, and the prices are quite affordable as well. Highly recommend!

One of the best places I've tried and the reviews reflect it. Went in when it's empty, staff are nice and talkative. Cheap food and high quality. Katsu Curry was incredible and was only 6 pound for a large portion. Don't miss out on this Hidden gem.

Absolutely fantastic experience here yesterday. Visited as a family for the first time and already looking forward to returning. Food was a really good price and portion sizes were perfect. We asked for an extra bowl for our 2 year old and shared each of our bowls with her. We were all suitably filled, the 11 year old couldn't even finish his. Food was just amazing. Lovely relaxed environment with good music which the two year old loved dancing to! Staff were great. Could rave about this place all day!

Lovely fresly made food, amazing happy staff

Good quality. Cheaper than Shijos. Workers ensured that halal products are stored, prepared and cooked seperately to non-halal meat. Unlike Shijos where there was obviously miscommunication between workers who couldn't agree on whether or not the pork is cooked seperately to prawn and halal chicken or not. Lost trust in Shijos but Kato has my confidence. And that's because the workers are confident in their product. Katsu curry could do with more veg and sauce tho. I'm sure if you asked they would top it off.

One of my favourite restaurants to go to you need to go to this place. I can’t explain to you how good the food is. Not only is the food cheap, but the quality is incredible. It is so filling as well It has the perfect portion for any person and there is a wide selection of different types of food. You can choose from each of them to the very best quality. At this point, I come here ritually after university, because of how unique this place is from any other restaurants, I’ve been to.

Great place to eat, the food is amazing and well prepared/presented, the staff and management are amazingly friendly and welcoming. I will be 100% returning and after finding out they also have a restaurant in sunnyside I will be trying this out also. Overall this is a fantastic lunch option. ( I even got some take out to eat at home 😋).

I’ve walked past Kato Pan Asian Cuisine a dozen times and have admired their menu, today I finally gave it a try…I think it might end up being my new go to place in Newcastle. I’ve been struggling to find places to eat in Newcastle as I get tired of eating the same old thing but this is a great place to check out/try out. Great and fast service with lots of great cuisine to choose from. I got miso soup and the pan fried salmon with tare sauce and fried noodles. They were both so delicious! I feel like the only downside is that they give you plastic forks even when sitting in and I struggled to eat the noodles due to the flexibility of the plastic fork (I struggle to use chopsticks 😢) and I wasn’t too sure what the etiquette was for leaving whether it’s best to put your own food in the bin and leave the bowl on top of the bin or if you just leave your plate/bowl on the table. Other than that though I will definitely be coming back and trying out more of their menu. I definitely recommend.

Such a lovely place. Delicious bowls packed with flavour and very reasonably priced. Staff are delightful. Welcoming and accomodating for my son (with LD) and his very messy eating. This place is becoming one of our favourites. Bring coins for the tip jar!

This is an amazing gem of a restaurant. The food is the best I have had in a long time, gorgeous and great meal sizes, served really quickly.
