The best restaurants in East Gosforth Newcastle upon Tyne North East

The William IV on High street is a local pub in Gateshead that offer a decent range of beers and was one of several pubs that we visited on a day out around Gateshead. A solid old style boozer that is housed in a traditional pub style building'the interior is again a traditional pub interior with lots of good seating options and an outside area at the back with extra seating options. I don't know why but I adore going to pubs like this as it brings me back to when I first started drinking many years ago and most of the pubs I visited where like this. This pub was very busy when we visited as where most pubs we went to in Gateshead and when here we had a couple of bitters from the John Smith's brewery which were well served and priced. This is another superb local boozer and is well worth visiting as the staff were friendly and they offer a well priced range of beers and is very easy to locate from High Street bus stop it's a minute's walk.(This is my first review of the William IV). Popped in for a pint while waiting for a takeaway order, staff were very good quick service and the estrella galicia lovely well recommend.

We have been using this takeaway for over 20 years , absolutely excellent again tonight and thoroughly recommended. Thank you Standard .

Ideally situated on Gosforth high street, near parking, always warm and welcoming, feels like a coffee shop should do.

Flat white coffee was okay. There are seatings in the back shared between neighboring restaurants. Thank you

Great atmosphere. There are lots of boardgames to borrow, a huge chess board and they do pub quizzes. Food is American diner style and the portions are huge. Dog friendly.

I am working in Cramlington and fancied a curry for dinner ,,, checked the reviews on TA and really was not disappointed,, i had king Prawn puri starter it was fantastic with really well presented prawns still in half shell but easy to pick out ,, then for main i had chefs balti special which had so much taste ,, the chillies had been fried and had a little burnt flavour ,, had a side of Bombay Aloo ,, all ery very good ,, i recommend this restaurant. Oh service was good and reasonable as we 👍

Tried their similar muffin & coffee special for 5.35 .muffin is really tasty. Great deal.

Went for tea with my son and 5 year old granddaughter. Lovely pizzas and great service. Good mix of music in the courtyard

A beautiful meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Every part of the meal was delicious and the ministrone soup was absolutely amazing!

We didn't book and the restaurant was very busy when we arrived. Staff were helpful and quickly found us a table. Food was served quickly and enjoyed by all. The service was excellent from all the staff we came in contact with. A lovely evening was enjoyed.
