Good little pub with live music every Friday night

Proper boozer , great jukebox, live bands Friday night. Pool table , loads of screens for Football, racing - all sports. Great management and staff

Excellent place to see bands of bygone days. Could do with a bit of refurbishment. Staff served quickly and efficiently.

Great little pub on Gosforth high st. Plenty of choice of beers, lagers and spirits at great prices. Great for watching football and horse racing on multiple TVs. Pool table and good jukebox when no football on.lol Staff/ owner are excellent and polite and friendly. Customers are very friendly and enjoy a good crack. Highly recommended, unless you sunderland supporter. Lol Thanks Alan

Tried out my new bass at a gig there last night, lovely bar, friendly staff. Cold beers and a great audience, doesn't get any better

We didnt have food. Only drinks but it was quite full and a very busy bar. Lots of karaoki with many different age groups enjoying the night

The BLACKSMITHS used to be FAB - Bands on etc! It is now simply a bar that is NOT WORTH A VISIT. Last orders 10 30 - unless your in the know. No atmosphere at all - so sad that this Gr8 bar in the past is just a drop out bar, came our early in the rain rather than watch the pessimistic outlook of the bar. been going for years but NEVER AGAIN. No welcome at all - 3 ladies been visiting for years to gosforth hugh street!

The Blacksmiths Arms is a proper local pub on the High street in Gosforth that offer's a decent range of well priced beers. Located in a lively area of Newcastle were there are some excellent pubs'this brilliant pub has an open-plan Interior with superb seating options.With a traditional look and feel a pool table and friendly staff and well kept beer's the Blacksmiths Arms is without doubt one of the best local pubs we visited on a six day city break to Newcastle. When we went here in the evening this pub was rather lively with a nice atmosphere in here and when here we had a Guinness an excellent choice as it was perfectly served and well priced. The Blacksmiths Arms are the pubs we like to visit as they are traditional boozers with bags of character and serve decent beers that are well priced.So easy to locate from Brandling Arms bus stop its just a couple of minute's walk.(This is my first review of the Blacksmiths Arms ). My twin brother Stephen and I decided to jump the tram to Gosforth and visit some of the great pubs in this area of Newcastle Upon Tyne and The Blacksmiths Arms Pub was one of the best pubs we visited. A traditional pub,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a totally relaxing pub. We were here on a Wednesday evening, we ordered a beer at the bar and luckily managed to get a table in this very popular pub were we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My beer was really good, a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink,on a hot evening a totally refreshing brew. We really enjoyed our beers in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit to The Blacksmiths Arms Pub we had a great time. The Blacksmiths Arms Pub is easy to locate along High Street Opening hours are ; Monday to Sunday, 11am till 11pm. A wonderful traditional pub,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

It was OK and it was full of customers so it must be a popular pub.

Went for Sunday Lunch.The place was quiet but the food was very nice.Great flavours and a lovely twist on the veggies. We didn't try the deserts because the main course was so filling we couldn't manage. Would defiantly go again for Sunday Lunch.
