Pret A Manger in Newcastle upon Tyne

Lovely staff every time I pop in. Would like to mention heidi in particular. Lovely smile and customer service.

It is very convenient for a snack shop and coffee in the Newcastle city centre

We always have our lunch in "prets" when in the town. Lovely sandwiches and coffee at reasonable prices. Only thing spoiling it was our wait, again, for a table due to people sitting for hours with their laptops. Buying a coffee does not reserve the table all day. There are signs on the walls with an hour seating limit, not big enough I might add, which is totally ignored. Its like sitting in a classroom. Good idea would be to cancel the free WiFi.

Friendly staff. Prompt service. But the music is always ridiculously loud. Even when I have asked in the past, it has been refused.

Expensive food and drinks, lack of sitting areas as many visitors had to leave. The fact you have to clear up your own rubbish for the price you pay. You should be waited on.

The food is yum, everything is good. I came everytime i go to train station. However I need to make a complaint about the charity contactless machine at the counter. It should not be placed there, I was charged a few times just because my phone is next to it. I know its a charity and out of good will but I felt like I was being scammed. I hope the shop can do something about it.

such friendly and fast service, eating in facilities are a little dated and the whole place could probably do with a refurb however can’t fault the service and products

Astonishing hot coco and excellent staff members in Pret Newcastle. Would love to know when the Christmas menu is available soon as it’s our favourite time of year with the wife. Well done Pret!

One of the nicest groups of staff I’ve ever encountered in a coffee shop, they’re always smiling and helpful, even when it’s crazily busy, or even just before close. Not sure what I’d do without them, their hot drinks are holding up my degree. And a special thanks to Julie and Alex for always remembering my order, even when I can’t!

The ladies at the till today were very amiable. I couldn’t read their name tags but they were in between 15-16. My drinks were also pretty spot on :)

Service is always good. And a guy named Alex is always friendly. He should be getting a pay rise for his customer service alone. Good work go guys.

staff are all very nice and i never have any problems. been coming here for ages using subscription and it’s more than worth it. only thing i’d say is they often run out of certain drink options but that’s to be expected later on in the day.

Always great coffee but fixtures and fittings in need of some TLC now.

I love Pret. I really do. I think the quality of drinks and food served is excellent as is the variety of products available. However, this is let down by their continued use of disposable paper and plastic cups for their sitting in experience. Contradicts their sustainability and green credentials. The Newcastle branch is a bit of soulless experience if you're sitting inside. I understand that there are limitations if there are no windows in the area so no natural light but the staff aren't particularly the most welcoming either (perhaps they were distracted and having an off day..who knows). Thoughts are... great if you're coming with your own portable to takeaway and enjoy their excellent offerings elsewhere but don't sit in if you care about the environment or want that comfortable, welcoming feel; not the Newcastle branch anyway. Updated this two months on because they still choose to use disposable cups for eat/drink in orders and I sent a query to Pret about this and was fobbed off with a "thanks for your thoughts and feedback to the store". No update, no change. Just disappointment and more waste to landfill.

Cancelled my order when I got there. Should have put me out. Sorry but won't use this business again

Had a light breakfast and a coffee. Nice friendly atmosphere, liked the banter between the regulars and the staff.

Consistent standard of decent coffee... Using the subscription really makes this good value for money.

Unfortunately the avocado of my sandwich was rotten, so of course the taste was awful. :( I was so disappointed. Surely I'll never order food from you again.

Best spot for Grab&GOs on the high street

I like the Pesto Pasta Salad Box it was delicious, convenient place especially when you work near the city and the place is clean to sit down, it does get busy especially lunch time, but love this place and the food.

Yeah, coffee was good, but when did pret turn into an internet café? Plenty of single people occupying big tables and not buying much but Plenty of paperwork and laptops spread all over😡

Great. Very friendly staff. Always a pleasure to visit. The place is clean, well maintained and the service efficient. Heidi is a superstar - very welcoming and serves every cup with a smile.

This particular branch is insanely busy compared to what it used to be. You get served very promptly but then havd to wait an age for a hot drink. Although I don't have any issues with the food or drinks, it's not worth the wait

Seriously good coffee! And nice membership😍 Lots of respect for the staff! Really busy all the time with people who mostly get coffee for free. They stay calm, even when no one comes to pick up their coffee, which they called out several times. Gonna support them for the months that I’m here!

I visit regularly on a morning commute to get a latte and the service is okay. The staff are cheery and there is not really a long time to wait.

Lovely place for a catch up with friends or even by yourself..I love their latte, their falafel wrap, croissant...n I tried their chocolate n almond cookies which were delish!

Staff always AMAZINGLY HELPFUL. Even during busy periods staff will take the time to answer questions or assist with anything you need. Fab place....

We wanted a filter coffee on a Saturday afternoon after walking around the shops and discovered that this branch closes at 4pm! On a Saturday! What on earth!? All the other coffee shops on that street close at 6pm. What is going on? I think this needs looking at, even 4:30 or 5pm would be far better.

One of the finest, friendliest and efficienct prets in the country. The staff are awesome. The food and drink well prepared and tasty. Coffee especially good.

Great service and quality food like any other.

The most lovely, decent and hard working staff at this Pret - most days the queue is a mile long because of the new subscription offer but they are always cheery and my Americano is always perfect.

This is another fine example of Pret A Manger. There was a long queue to get in because they were restricting the number of customers allowed in the store at any one moment as part their social distancing measures. the staff were polite and helpful.

Love this pret, always treated so nice by all the staff! Every time I’ve came in Heidi has given exceptional customer service, as someone who worked in the hospitality businesses I know how stressful and exhausting it can be, which is why I’m so amazed at how Heidi stays so enthusiastic and friendly all the way through her shift!

Pricey l, any frap or milkshake is unbelievable tho

Really Polite and Happy staff, great selection of food and fast service! The Chocolate Frape is my favourite; i do recommend everyone who likes chocolate to try this as there is no taste of coffee.

Heide - one of the females working there - one of the most lovely and bubbly staff members ive ever met. Brilliant service and so polite.

Toilet was dirty and 3.99 for a sandwich 3.80 for caramel frappe without cream topping but breaker has lid with domed top for cream. Was disappointed. There was a lot of spilt food and drink on floor and only one member of staff on floor and she was trying to serve everyone. Won't go again.

There was a good choice of food, and everything my friend and I had was lovely and tasted fresh. It was rather busy but we were served quickly and efficiently by very friendly staff. The only issue: hygiene! It was a battle to get a table, and when we did, it was filthy. Moving on to the toilets - also disgusting! There were two toilets, and both managed to be so filthy that I couldn’t bring myself to use them. The staff were clearly all extremely busy serving customers, but I really didn’t enjoy the lack of cleanliness.

Their newly introduced Turmeric Latte with Coconut Rice is AMAZING! Everyone should give it go! Deeply soothing drink! Most of the drinks are fairly priced as compared to other high street coffee shops!

Staff are Always polite and shop very clean excellent place for Coffees and Sandwiches but the Soups that they make are beautiful and tasty , love Pret A Manger Food.

Always busy mid afternoon as it’s popular here for the large student population in the area. Food always freshly prepared on site. Coffee is very good here. Service is 2nd to none.

This pret is really nice, lots of choice of wraps and sandwiches. The hot chocolate was perfect and the staff were pleasant. The only downside is that it’s always busy and there isn’t much seating area.

Fantastic service, fab pastries and pies especially the one with pecan 😋i love falafel and hallomi wrap they make, you’ll never love wrap in any other place except the one they make.

I’ve taken a macarroni cheese, an salmon wrap and a coke for lunch. It was too much food, but all delicious. I spent 11 pounds - coke 1 wrap 4 macorroni around 6.

Inadequate and badly maintained toilets, with recurring faults that are not rectified. Dirty tables. Very expensive for what it offers as regards atmosphere and facilities. Limited access to napkins etc.
