My husband(!) and I had our wedding lunch here 31st October 2024. What a delightful time we had! As we were catering for 30 people, we used outside caterers (can recommend Community Catering) and The Hub made sure there was enough space for them to set out food lovely. The bar selection was great for our needs and they even ensured there was a small cocktail menu available at our request (pina coladas are delicious!). Jill and Heather took care of our every need when arranging the event (and during) and I think were even more excited than me! They made the space absolutely beautiful for us. Many of our guests had not been before and were very impressed and will certainly be back again soon as customers. The other staff in attendance on the day were great too, happy, friendly and polite. It is a fabulous little hidden gem of a location which is perfect for a walk (or cycle!) along the Quayside or the Ouseburn, with beautiful views along the river Tyne with backdrop of the bridges. Although we were unable to use their food at our event, we have eaten here before and it has always been delicious. It is worth noting too that they use as many local suppliers and small business as possible which in my view is really worth celebrating. Keep an eye on their drinks menu as it changes with the season which is a lovely little touch too. On a cold day, you can still sit outside to enjoy the view too as they even have some blankets that you can borrow to keep the chill off. Thanks again, from the new Mr and Mrs Burnett.

Went for our son’s birthday party, have never been there before but what a smashing place. Lots of space to sit, stand and just talk and drink. Good range of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks for the little ones. There is also a lovely lit terrace which looks down to the bridges and has blankets to use to wrap yourself in on a chilly night. The staff were great, pleasant and friendly. We were impressed by the whole set up. Didn’t have any food here because alternative catering had been arranged but were informed that it is very good. At the end of the night staff were also very tolerant of the tardiness of us leaving. Would recommend for a casual do or night out.

Not the right place to go if you want to grab a quick coffee. If there’s more than two people in the queue you’re better off going elsewhere. Painfully slow service! Far better head to Northern Rye 2 mins walk from here & much busier cafe but at least you don’t have to negotiate with disinterested youths or lose interest & walk out!

I had just arrived in Newcastle via ferry from Amsterdam and stopped at the Cycle Hub to ask for directions to a storage facility for my bike and gear. Without a moment's hesitation Alan offered take care of my things while I walked into the nearby city center. He even let me use his WC to change into city clothes. What an amazing introduction to Newcastle and the UK!! Thanks Alan (sp) . Much appreciated!

I’ve been here previously for drinks which has been ok but recently went for food and it is an absolute ripoff. Paid £4.80 for a cheese savoury sandwich and had the smallest amount of cheese savoury! Why be stingy with the filling when charging customers a fiver? Should have gone to Greggs.

I bought two fruit scones for £3.25 each and two coffees. The scones were so dry and old I’m guessing they had been in their stock for at least a month. We ended up feeding them to the pigeons. It’s disgraceful that old scones should be sold for this price. Yes I should have complained but honestly you get so tired of spending your life complaining that I save my anger and energy for something more important than scones. Get your act together Cycle Hub.

It's hard to rate this place really, as we didn't get to try any food or drinks. We have eBikes and had heard there was a solar charger here. So we planned on getting food and drinks and charging up our bikes while we refueled ourselves and enjoyed views of the Tyne. However, the charger wasn't working and the staff on shift didn't know this nor how long it hadn't been working for. I seem to remember he also said he'd never seen anybody use the chargers. So, it appeared to just be a funky looking ornament or statue. Such a shame. It'd be a really useful thing for eBikers and would garner the cafe more passing trade if the chargers worked. As it was, we left without purchasing anything and charged our batteries in a nearby bar. 🤷🏼♀️ The adjoining cycle repair workshop looked cool though and stocked some basic accessories and gear. 👍🏼 NB: Even paid charging stations would be useful at this location given that it's on a cycle route, (though SOME pubs often let us charge for free if we're eating and/or drinking there, but still... chargers here would be very useful when in a bind).

There were no drinks advertised so I panicked and asked for a fentimans as I saw a bottle on the wall. We sat on the only table that did not have a sign on saying closed at 2.30. We assumed all other tables were booked for a party. A staff member came over at 230 and took away our plates and told us we had till 2.45 due to a party.... luckily we were finished food but not drinks but we felt rushed so left and so did everyone else. The atmoshere and service was awful it felt like we were not supposed to be there and rushed. Dont get me wrong the food was soo good but the service was awful. Try not to inconvenience the staff too much by asking for a coffee. Waited 5 minutes for person in kitchen who was stacking shelves then feel like the worst person in the world when I said “excuse me”. He grunted, made the coffee then left the card machine while he went back to stacking shelves. God forbid I had to then “excuse me” once more for a spoon to stir my coffee. The staff are very friendly but the food is terrible and a complete rip off. They tried to help as much as possible but... we asked for a BLT and there was no bacon so we asked if we could have Tuna mayo sandwich without sweetcorn, they said yes, then the lady in charge of the kitchen said no sorry they can't, we said OK anyway so we're getting 3 Tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches at this point, on brown bread. At a cost of £4.50 each. When they came they consists of 2 slices of bog standard brown bread with a really sloppy pre-made Tuna and sweetcorn mix in a bag, not on a plate, The sandwich wasn't even cut in half and no salad or crisps or anything. The mayo was dripping out the bottom it was so runny. My wife sent it back before touching it they gave her a soft cream cheese bagel as a replacement. I ate mine and my son ate half of his. The bread was the biggest issue, for £4.50 you would expect better bread and presentation. Sorry can't reply to your message so will edit mine. In the picture is shown the Tuna and sweetcorn sandwich, this is on the menu hence ordering it. We asked what the bread options were and we were told white or brown, we assumed nice bread, we asked for brown and got this served in a bag, not cut, we were told the filling was a pre mixed bought one hence sweetcorn was already in it. Regarding not knowing what it is? I looked on-line at your menu and if you look you will see you have a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich on the menu, it comes in a nice tray, with lettuce and has a nice seeded bread bun in the picture. If I had actually seen a picture of that before I ordered there is no way I would have accepted any of the sandwiches you served us yesterday.

Located along the Tyne quayside heading out of the city towards Ouseburn, I stopped for a well earned cuppa whilst participating in the Shaun on the Tyne sculpture trail in August 2023. The café is, as the name would suggest, geared up for the cyclists many of whom where meeting here to fuel up before, during, or after there ride outs. It was notable that many often stopped here and were known by name to staff. The staff were helpful and friendly as were the lovely patrons, of whom some advised they were regulars not of the cycling kind. They serve hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes, scones, hot and cold sandwiches. There's also a cycle workshop onsite for all cycling maintenance needs. Seating is available indoors and outdoors, there's a convenient kiosk on the roadside for takeaway, a cycle ride through. Plenty of cycle racks and a pay car park. Toilets are located inside that were well kept and clean. The views were definitely my cup of tea especially with the fishing fleet moored alongside. As luck would have it the worst of the days rain fell whilst having my Earl Grey, and I was able to don my waterproofs before venturing out again! If you're in the vicinity do pop in and see what you think. I would have no hesitation going back.

Small group of 4, work's Xmas meal out. Service was absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere was great, and it's a lovely historic building. Food was excellent. 2 of us were driving and their non-alcoholic options were great. And we weren't rushed out the door either. Yes it's more expensive, but I'd say it's definitely worth it, especially when you consider how overpriced mediocre food/drink can be at this time of year. Thoroughly enjoyed it and can't recommend it highly enough.
