Costa Coffee in Newcastle upon Tyne

I became a fan of their banana loaf bread. My boyfriend has been so crazy about it and finally had me to try it and now we both are it's fan.

The manager of this site must recognise the exceptional kindness & customer service from the barista ‘karolina’. An absolute asset to the company. From a business owners point of view staff like this need recognised!

Just another Costa. No phone signal towards the rear and virtually no seating at the front.

Uncomfortable, echoes as all wood and hard seats, crowded with school kids (3pm) Internet unreliable as shop is inside concrete bunker of a shopping centre. Had far better

Always very welcoming and excellent service. Standards are high in a chain such as this but they are always maintained and are cannot recommend it enough.

Great local Costa. Order drinks for pickup regularly. Staff always polite especially Shahan who is always very helpful and goes the extra mile!

Coffee, snacks etc. as you would expect at Costa. Pleasant staff. Went about an hour before closing time. Loads of dirty dishes stacked on serving counter, tables needed wiping down, staircase filthy and toilet needed a good clean.

Nice coffee shop, what you'd expect from a Costa, good accessibility for wheel chair users from within the shopping centre, off the street there is a large step in the shop down to the serving area, so keep that in mind if you are a wheelchair user.

Costa is the only coffee house I use as the coffee is the best.

Manager very rude…. Refused me a refund when I found hair in my toastie. Guy with glasses who made my drinks needs some training cos the latte was rotten. Not returning!

I love coming here in the morning. Karolina, the barista who serves me daily is a beautiful person! Friendly welcoming and really does pay attention to you! The other guys who work here are so attentive and are always working hard. Everyone who works here has an amazing relationship with their customers. Staff are knowledgeable about coffee and are confident in answering any questions! Seating area is always clean and inviting. Pop in and have a coffee, you'll definitely return!

Lovely staff, order a americano with almond milk, tasted as good as a costa can.

Friendly service even when busy.

Called in for breakfast last Saturday. Staff really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Coffee and food excellent

Lovely coffee! Friendly, helpful staff who constantly keep the seating areas clean and sanitised between customers.

Twice I've tried to place an order through deliveroo from this Costa and twice they've just not accepted and the order has timed out. If you're not able to fulfill orders just go offline or at least reject orders instead of allowing your customers to wait an hour before eventually telling them they can't have their coffee!!

Excellent, nice to sit down again and have a coffee after walking around, staff very alert regarding rules for customer's safety, tables & seats cleaned down before next customer was allowed to use them, whole team great.

Annoying screeching repeating beep when any new customer enters. Service slow considering volume of customers. However, coffee up to usual good standard.

Gosforth is my local Costa which i use regularly, normally you are greeted by very friendly staff but on this occasion it was very abrupt by the deputy manager. I understand stand this is a different time with covid 19, but if you are unable to take a seat without being very rudely and abruptly spoked too and told to leave the table in a uncurtly manner. We did mention this to another member of staff in which she apologised alot. If he had have took more notice of his customers instead of chatting to what seemed to be a friend when its busy he would have probably noticed customers not using the one way entrance and exit which does not seem to be working unless staff direct the customer. The drinks were lovely and hot and presented very well by the other Batista called Elliott who was very friendly and helpful.

We just popped in for a coffee and a small cake. It was clean enough, decent service, quite well patronised.

The worst coffee ever. £2.85 for med cappuccino with horrible sour taste. Also the place requires solid cleanup/refurb.

The staff are really friendly, always talk to me and me kids when I go in. Staff know what my order is so have it made ready for me when they see me.

Busy, noisy, no attendant to clean the table.

The sink was broken and manager made me and my mate come in and clean it up and called the police on us so now I have my 2nd strike from the police

Coffee lovely as always. But went to loo no paper and hand drier hasnt worked since refurb in the summer

Not the best Costa iv been into as it seems like some of the staff was not treating other staff fairly the lady in the till did not explain my order correctly to the lady doing the drinks I felt in an uncomfortable position when the the lady on the drinks ask the service lady what I ordered again her response back seemed very snappy to her I don't like people who do this to people.

lovely staff, great location, clean and tidy. I really hoped during the refit the step on the entrance from the centre could have been rectified despite the tape it is a hazard a poor young lady went tumbling on our visit. Also please adjust the AC its really not necessary or the eco friendly to have it so cold its Newcastle after all not the South of France.

My daughter who is 32years of age and I always a enjoy morning coffee and lunch and Costa Gosforth. Staff are always very willing, a smiling face and can’t do enough for you! On our latest visit my daughter wasn’t feeling too well and started to have a seizure. All staff were very helpful, but one member of staff (unfortunately I didn’t get her name) couldn’t do enough to help. For me it was a lovely feeling being helped when we have been treated without care and dignity in other eating places/shops. I will thank her myself when we next go, but I thought she was worth writing a review for.

What on earth has happened to this Costa? Have been a patron for many years (usually a quick lunchtime weekend stop with the family) and was our favourite local Costa with a homely atmosphere, great food and service. Today the food and coffee were great as always but what has happened to cozy feel?? Air con turned up way too high so a fleece was needed. Too many new smaller tables where any more than two people struggle to eat at accompanied by new chairs that are totally uncomfortable. Divided sections have been removed so now like a school dinner hall. I hope they are in the middle of a re-model? If not it would seem to be the new aim of the owners to keep traffic moving rather than have an enjoyable stay.....maybe they had too many people sitting on one coffee for hours on end? Disappointed to say the least hence my first google review! Will think twice about visiting next time as Nero is a stones throw.....

I regularly visit here for drinks. Always served quickly although like any coffee shop it has its busier periods. The staff are always very friendly and cheerful.

Called in for a coffee and snack. Chose a Flat White and a Bacon & Brie Panini at a cost of around £6.50. Was served quite quickly as the shop wasn't too busy. Panini arrived later - very hot. By the time it had cooled enough to eat. found it very difficult to bite as the bread was so hard. The filling was tasteless and I couldn't identify any bacon or brie. Had to leave about a third as it was so hard. Also found the coffee to be quite bitter so not impressed.

Quick service, plesant staff, feels as if its just the right size, and not too busy (plenty people in though!) Not a bad Costa at all

I would like to say that the shop is kind of wheelchair accessible from the outside but not from the inside. I would also like to add that the drinks and food were really nice and staff could not be nice enough to me who me a big deal welcomed.

Went in with 30 mins left till they closed, the assistant manager Jonny could not have been more accommodating, really good flat white and made to our specification. Will definitely be back when we are next there.

Staff more interested in their own conversation than serving the queue hence poor and slow service. First time I have had poor service in a Costa - won't visit this one again.
