What a place! Being a Newcastle United fan living abroad. I always come here for food and drink when I’m in toon. I’ve watched games in here, incredible atmosphere. Loads of TV screens. Very smiley and friendly staff. Great food. Recommended.

Great bar at the home of Newcastle united, the food was great , I had a double bacon cheeseburger which is part of the main meal on the menu and my wife had chicken fries which is on starter on the menu and got fries with it seperate , great service and is always nice whenever I visit , atmosphere will be more lively couple hours before a kick off when newcastle united are playing

I had a cup of coffee with Fries and you get a packet of crumble biscuits with your coffee very good value for money.

Nice place to go before or after the game. We visited the bar before the match against Brighton. We had a crossing with DFDS and a weekend at Newcastle with a match. We had a beer here and there were many supporters present. These are supporters of both teams. We also did a tour of the stadium on Sunday. And afterwards we had something to drink and eat here. This gives you a discount on your food and drinks.

Visited here after the Stadium Tour and used discount, £10.95 for Double Cheeseburger, you get fries included in that, surely it couldn't be that good. It was absolutely amazing, hefty burger, seasoned fries, sauce was amazing. Pint of Guiness nearly cost as much as the food but in all, you can't complain. TV's had a technical error when we visited so it was very quite. Will definitely visit again.

Absolutely brilliant in here. Visited for the weekend with a couple of mates and we loved it. Even tried the food and it was really nice. Big shout out to Charlie and Sarah!

Fui a almorzar con la familia. Habíamos estado 2 semanas antes, desayuné todo el día y el tocino estaba tan duro que no se podía cortar. Decidimos darle una segunda oportunidad a la comida y fuimos de nuevo. Cuando llegó mi comida se podía ver de inmediato que las salchichas no estaban cocinadas correctamente, cortar a través de ella y era rosa. Muy mal cocinado.

Here on an away match day. Lots of TV but all are too small and too high. I am not local but most of the locals seem to come here more for a chat than watching game. Still, the name Shearer is all that matters.

Cool bar at St.James Park. Great spot for a quick pint with your friends inside or on the patio.

First time visit , friendly staff , relaxing atmosphere ,very clean environment will be visiting again . No food at this time as family already ate , But looking at menu next visit ,like choices & prices 💯

Amazing bar just at times not enough seating

Had the Halloumi fries and chicken bites. Really tasty! Just a bit awkward sitting at the table for wheelchair user.

Got to be the worst selection of “beers” in the whole of Newcastle. Not a single craft or ale in the place. Closest they sell is Guinness which is why they got an extra ⭐️ instead of just the one. All they sell is cheap watery lagers. Such a shame. Get with the times guys!! Not everyone is 19 and likes beer flavoured water!!!

What a place first time iv been their everything well priced the bar staff couldn't do enough for you when the footys on theres enough tvs& big screens to watch football & the red button competition when your buying a drink is a great idea

Not very busy and lacked atmosphere but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Although this place is nice inside and out and the drink was nice. Had good choice of drinks but the food let it down. Had potato skins they came out burnt and warm, not nice at all. So I said I was happy with them. They were replaced yes they were warmer but to me still burnt but that might be the way they serve them. Not for me though. Would possibly pop in for drink but probably not food. Third picture are the potatoes skins that they brought out second time first two pictures of the potato skins were how they were actually served first time. Warm burnt and tasted burnt

Just called in for coffee, quiet when we called but must be buzzing on match days.

Pre booked a table for myself and my grand daughter , the table they picked for us was high table and chairs , squashed next to a table where 4 other people sat , plenty of comfy booths upstairs which we asked to move too we were told if one is free yes , we were the first to order food just before 12 yet took a hour for our food to come , I'd asked for child's starter to come with the mains , it never so we had to wait longer for our mains we were on a tight schedule, the waitress just snapped there was a hour wait on food , if I knew that on ordering I wouldn't of stayed , this meal was a treat for my grand daughter and was booked well in advance , disappointing that we were shoved on a high table , the customer service is shocking , I'd went to order my grand daughter another drink then realised you got a drink with the kids meal so I said I'll leave the drink , the bar tender then rolled her eyes at me , the food was delicious and you get loads , just a pity we didn't have time to eat it all, i wouldnt go again for this reason , but the venue is nice and so is the food, i have directly messaged the venue with my feedback but doubt I'll hear anything back

Food prices were surprisingly not expensive, tv's all over showing sport, plenty seating around the venue.

Amazing, friendly, well trained staff. Quality of food and drink fantastic. Very good value for money, half the price i thought it would be. Waited in here and had lunch while our son did the tour, which he really loved. Only £22 for this years shirt in the next in the shop next to bar. Even the staff running the tours cound not be more helpful. I would highly recommend 👌

Horrible wait time and not having all stock unbelievable service ruined my whole trip to Newcastle won't ever come here ever again

Came here after Newcastle Stadium Tour as we had a discount on food and drink from booking our ticket. We were unfortunately let down by fact our food took an hour to come. However, we were given a full refund and free chips and free drinks. They did make up for it thankfully.

We done the stadium tour and decided to head to shearers for drinks and food. Food was not nice at all burgers looked like they had been cooked in the oven bland no flavour at all and toppings missing from burgers. Chips were bland and not seasoned and looked like chips served on a match day. Tatta tots were stone cold within a minute or so being served and the no check from servers to see if Food was OK. Will not be eating there again.

It was Thursday afternoon but it was still busy. Plenty of draft beers, a good selection of wines and spirits, and plenty soft drink choices. Had Nachos and some chips. The food was served quickly, the nacho chips were lovely. No complaints from this reviewer. Has just been on the stadium tour (another happy story) so got a 10%+ discount too. Happy days :-)

Called in with two aussies enjoying their first visit. They loved being in the bar Friday night knowing they'd be in the ground the day after!

Visited on a Monday night 13/11/23. Not busy so had plenty of time on the table. My friend arrived late but the staff were all very understanding and friendly. Every floor staff and hostess on this day was amazing. I had to write a review once I got home. We moved tables as we preferred another table and our waitress was very happy to do so. Special thank you to Nesrin who was very patient with us when arriving late and moving tables. The food was amazing. Especially love the shrimp tempura and chicken dim sum. Very aesthetic restaurant, took lots of photos! Deffo will visit again soon!! 10/10

Called into the bar with my two younger sons following a stadium tour. Staff were very friendly and helpful, despite being busy they made a fuss of the boys. Well worth the wait for our meals.

Popped in after doing the tour around the ground. Staff were pleasant and attentive. I tried the nachos and dips while watching Newcastle vs. Manchester City. The food service was good, and the atmosphere in the bar was brilliant. Good day out . I would recommend visiting to soak up the atmosphere, especially when a game is on

Wij zaten hier voor de wedstrijd in de VIP Lounge aan een tafel met 6 andere gasten. De sfeer is er perfect. Het eten dien je zelf te halen, iets wat wel een minpunt is in deze setting. Het eten is niet bepaald smaakvol, het lijkt wel alsof het gebruik van kruiden verboden is in deze keuken, De 'Barnsley Chop' was compleet smaakloos en het varken was gort droog. Het dessert zorgde ervoor dat we gelukkig nog met een gevulde maag weggingen. Echter was dit totaal niet in verhouding met het betaalde totaal bedrag.

Nice way to start a Sunday morning, ticks all the boxes.

For £8.50 and a 25 minute wait this plateful of food was hardly worth it. More hard breadcrumbs than chicken wrap with nearly cold chips. Staff pleasant

Fine sport bar right at the St. James stadium.. named after Alan the Great! Large indoor space, outside terrace and well chilled Guinness that match perfectly to The Magpies :-) Superb friendly atmosphere and great place to watch the match on TV. Pretty bussy during the game. I really liked original memorabilia display!

The best bar I’ve ever been to! While I stayed in Newcastle we came to this bar 3 times! Friday we went to visit the store and seen the bar was opening in 10min so we decided to pop in, and have a drink! We went in and I found they had my drink on tap ( Rekorderling Strawberry & Lime) my partner had a beer. Two came to £10 which was great. I noticed their weekday menu that they offered vegan chicken so we ended up staying for lunch! We got cauliflower bites and vegan chicken (5 pieces) and waffle which came with fries for £10 again bargain! We came back Sat for the Newcastle game, they had a other menu, which we got tater tots and cheese pizza which both were incredible! Best Tater tots I’ve ever had too! The atmosphere for the game was great it wasn’t hostile or aggressive I felt safe as women, and I didn’t have a panic attack as I get anxious in loud crowds but it was totally fine! Staff are friendly and attentive always clearing tables and making small friendly conversations even although it’s busy! Before we left on Sunday we came back for last time. Had apple juice to start with as didn’t feel like drinking at 10am think it was £5 for two full glasses! At 12 they served food which again had to get vegan chicken 😍 also got some tater tots as the day before they were so good had to get more! Had a drink or two before leaving for the train was a nice chill atmosphere and watched the Sundays games on the telly! Overall; good veggie/vegan options, lovely friendly atmosphere, friendly attentive staff! And defo will be back the next time we are visiting Newcastle! Best place ever 🥰

Not enough good can be said about Shearer's. The staff are excellent, always friendly, and quick to help. With a place that offers vegan food as an option, there is always a fear that ordering something like vegan chicken, you may get a real bird. This was never an issue across the multiple times over a few days that we ordered. Drinks are well priced, and food was cheaper than expected. We also went to watch the Newcastle v Aston Villa match in the bar. The Newcastle fans were all pleasant. It wasn't hard to get through the crowd to get to the bar, order drinks, and make it back to the table on the opposite side of the room. The food on offer during match days is well priced and easy to get to. We will definitely be going back for food, drinks, and to watch more matches if we can't get tickets to the match (or its an away game).

Lovely bacon double cheeseburger with colesaw and chips just over £10

We had a great tour around the grounds then came here for food which was a big mistake. The bau buns were hard (which they did replace after saying that they had probably been put in the microwave for too long). The kids' food took an hour to come out and was also wrong so needed to be changed. The chicken was tasteless and the steak was chewy. It's such a shame as we were having a great day!

Fantastic place first time here took all my family which was 19 People the service, the staff and especially the chief who cooked all our meals to perfection was brilliant after the tour around st James park It was a perfect ending of the day cheers guys will definitely be back👏👏
