Had a great couple of hours on the brewery tour with Lee, followed by beer tasting and a burger. The tour wasn't so much of a "tour" ... we stood amongst the brewing mash tubs, kettles and barrels whilst Lee entertained us with a history of brewing, especially centred on the North East. His knowledge and story telling were second to none. The beers and food were very enjoyable. Five stars!!

Meat was absolutely amazing, so tender and just fell apart. The roast was served with a lovely yorkshire, mash, a hasselback potato and seasonal veg including parsnips and red cabbage. We also got extra gravy at no charge which is always good! Just wish there was proper roasties and more of them

Overall Bad. There was zero customer service. When the waiters took our order they were blunt and unfriendly, which came across very rude. Our Sunday dinners arrived with veg that was not on the menu with no roast potatoes. The food did not look at all like other photos and was just all piled on the plate like mush. I’d pay £5 for the Sunday dinner not £15.50. We were never asked how our food was or if we were happy with everything so we didn’t have a chance to speak to anyone until after we asked for the bill. After we payed the waiter grunted and walked off, no thank yous or goodbyes or have a nice evening. All staff we encountered need serious customer service training. Cannot understand how or why they have a job in a customer service role. They absolutely loved themselves and were focussing more on acting cool than waiting on our table. Would not recommend.

It should be great! By the looks of things it used to be good but as it stands the food fell well below average pub grub and a meal and a drink cost me £30... Mouldy olives in a clumsy greek salad. The lamb tacos were actually just really lazy; un-seasoned lamb mince in a cheap white tortilla is not a taco. It was all pretty flavourless and left me feeling pretty sad as the vibe was nice it just felt like the kitchen staff didn't care. I'd expect this from a chain but not from an independent. Please do better

Highly entertaining (first and foremost) and informative tasting 'tour', not too taxing on the feet...(clue: microbrewery!). The beer/tour guide and founder is a born raconteur and the beer is well worth sampling, all of it excellent and one or two that are in a class above (Groovy Juice NE IPA!). Food was not included on our ticket but we'll be going again to complete the experience - all looked (and, as we were reliably informed, was) mouthwatering.

Been visiting this place when in Newcastle for a few years now. The last 2 visits the beer quality had dropped. They have cask and keg on offer. We usually eat here aswell, the burgers were always great. You can actually see straight into the open kitchen and see food being prepared. One of the lads had blue hygiene gloves on but was constantly using his phone. The beer this visit was absolutely shocking, after having 3 tasters at the bar I had one that I have had a few times before. Even this was bad. Didn't even drink half of it, and just left . They have certainly lost my business for good. A shame because it was always an excellent place for both food and the beer.

Visited for the first time for a Sunday lunch. The bar was very cool and retro with good vibes and the service was ok-ish. Outside garden area was less impressive with flimsy chairs crammed around big tables in a small space. Was a bit disappointed with our Sunday roast. The food arrived probably less than 10 minutes after we ordered (as it's pre-prepared) before we had even received our drinks, which was a little off-putting. The roast was ok, felt a little bit like a school dinner with three boiled potatoes instead of roasted ones and slightly overcooked meat (to their credit the Yorkshire pudding was good). I ordered a Bloody Mary to drink and received a sort of slushy weird tasting drink that I wouldn't have guessed was a Bloody Mary if I hadn't known! Was also pricier than expected for a mediocre experience and we left feeling slightly robbed. I'd probably recommend sticking to beers and bar food and forgoing the cocktails and Sunday roasts if you do go.

I've been to Brinkburn prior to tonight and decided to take my mother who was visiting us for the weekend out for some food. Unfortunately, there was a little mixup with the food order and the kitchen hadn't received our order, maybe due to how busy it was, that meant we were waiting over an hour and 20 min for our food. The staff member who brought our food was really great and offered us a free round to make up for the mix-up which we really appreciated (and needed after the wait lol) The food itself was really tasty and I'd definitely recommend a visit for both drinks and food but maybe during less busy times to ensure they don't forget your order!!

While the food was nice enough, the service and atmosphere was terrible. We ordered ahead as we were a large party, but the staff did not read the order correctly and brought out incorrect dishes and missed some entirely which meant that some people were done eating before others even got their food. In addition our waitress was quite rude to us, we only asked after the dishes once after we pointed out that there were 3 meals missing, and got a rude and sarcastic answer. Additionally, the room was incredibly loud which made it impossible for me to hear anyone on the table not sitting directly next to me. I personally would not go back, and would suggest that you avoid this restaurant for any family or group meals.

Had high hopes based on reviews etc, however after visiting for Sunday lunch I was left somewhat disappointed. Chicken dinner was served with no roast potatoes, the chicken was cooked about 15 mins too long and there was enough red cabbage on the plate for 3 dinners. This then made everything else taste of red cabbage. The gravy had the consistency of weak tea and left the dinner swimming in translucent goo. The 3 sliders were nice, but a little dry and small for the price and the small amount of chips served needed another 5 minutes in the fryer. All this coupled with chairs which almost fell to pieces when you only thought about sitting on them left me wondering what we nearly paid 50 quid for 2 dinners for. The beer was excellent though.

Food was good but our experience was blighted when things went wrong. Some of our Sunday lunches were served cool and one did not arrive. Ok things can go wrong, but tables are pre-booked, they know what’s coming, and Sunday lunches are not cooked to order. They are precooked and assembled before service. I have no problem with this in principle but mention it because it should have been easy to deliver the missing meal swiftly after being told. However, it took 30+ minutes to deliver the missing order and, by then everyone else in the party had finished even through several meals went back for a reheat. Basically, they did not put the initial problem right in terms or customer service. A glass of wine was not charged to a booking of 8 people. Not a very good response and one of a party of 8 had nothing to eat. This was our first visit, recommended by friends and it is evidently popular place. The food quality was good but apart from 3 chilly servings and one missing meal.

The food once we got it was mediocre at best. No condiments on table, no soup spoon and had to ask for gravy. Desserts were also pre ordered and we waited an extra 30 mins for those to arrive, with one missing. Staff outside main entrance smoking/vaping some still in kitchen whites NOT A GOOD SIGN. Live music on Saturday was amazing, full of 90's rock songs that bring back such nestalgia, just sad we only heard the last half an hour. Drink prices were very good, all round exciting and friendly atmosphere! We will be coming back next Saturday at 9 pm Sharp for the band starting 😀 so few hang outs for rock lovers now, well worth a visit!

The shakshuka had an huge overload of seeds and nuts on top and I couldn’t see the eggs. There was very little yoghurt used, also everything was freezing as soon as it arrived including the coffee. The cake was very dry too. Also I ordered bacon with the shakshuka and it was rock hard and I could barely chew it. My partner got French toast but it actually tasted ‘eggy’ and seemed more savoury than sweet. The staff were lovely but it was clear to see there was one tiny understaffed kitchen with a mass amount of seating which was around 80% full and staff running around trying to keep on top of everything. The atmosphere was very dark and you couldn’t decipher the style they were going for. The premises was actually lovely just needed some TLC.

Good juke box. Shame about the prices though. £14. 75 for a pint and a double gin x tonic was a bit steep.
