The best restaurants in West Auckland County Durham North East

Stayed at the Manor Hotel over the road for 1 night and decided to pop in here for a couple of drinks. Has the feel of a proper local pub but the regulars and bar staff (Kieran was a great laugh and very welcoming) were all friendly and chatting away with us. It was Karaoke night with everyone getting involved having a right laugh. If you're visiting the area give this place a visit - you'll enjoy yourself!

Lovely extensive menu and tasty food

Called in yesterday Sat 25th for lunch as normal when we were shopping in town . We found out that they had changed the menu very dissapointed had to send the food back as the fries were cold yet again that was 3 times in 6 weeks that has happened .The prices have gone up which is understandable but you expect hot food . Will not be calling in again, will eat somewhere else from now on .Which is a shame really because its very handy to get to and the staff are always polite

The hotel, rooms and spa are lovely - I often have people staying there who visit us but…….Three of us ( all locals, in our 60’s) have been going to the bar at The Manor House regularly for about 6 years for a monthly get together for wine / whisky and chat and spend well over £150 a session. However since some staff changes (staff leaving) the service and the attitude of some of the (largely untrained) staff has become very unwelcoming. There’s a definite atmosphere of ‘we don’t want locals’ which as we’re often the only ones there is quite surprising and disappointing given our custom over the years.

Had a long day travelling up from Manchester and staying the night. The top banter and help from Rory and Chris was definitely what was needed after a long day. Food was unreal!! Thanks again guys really appreciate it 💪 keep up the amazing work 👍 👏 👌

Where to start as usual a queue one girl working waited 20 minutes she was rushed off her feet while others were putting g stock away Surely for costumer care they should be served first it’s not the poor girls fault it’s Tesco Why oh why don’t you put extra staff on to cope with the steady stream of thirsty hungry people So frustrated might not revisit

Right I got a cheeseburger when I have opened it it’s stone cold and had a bite out of it I AM NOT HAPPY😡😡

TAKE CASH ONLY ...They are always very reliable when ordering or picking up ..sometimes there hit and miss quality wise ..I don't recommend going soon as they open as you are better when they have been open a while and have a proper cook on at a certain time ..say 7 pm ...I would not recommend delivery ,as I witnessed a woman who had been smoking heavily ,pick up delivery ..drop some of it in the car and come back in for a bag to scoop it into ..with a cigarette on ...not good...and must have been freezing by the time they got it ... Last time we ate it was amazing only two weeks ago on a Friday evening ..may go tonight ...see if we're lucky

Great location, plenty of free parking. Staff warm and welcoming. Notbing too much trouble. Dining area spotless. Food was delicious and great value. Will definitely return.

Manager from another branch called CHLOE some blonde lass has the worst attitude available, cant make drinks to save her life and openly and loudly made a remark about my drink she made wrong in which she acknowledged in her snide remark. As a manager you need to be fired and retrained, as a person please learn some manners and respect because lord almighty you are a rude woman

The pizza was thick and soggy too much cheese too much sauce… and the chicken £12.99 box was horrible tiny little pieces of chicken… not even worth it.. wish I could get my money back it was horrible

lack of stock, had brownies still on till bought one to be told they had none left got offered a cookie no refund even though it’s cheaper. Customer service needs work. They also left the sauces out of the meals, then waitied to ask for them ignored when stood near till eventually got them.
