Stayed in Room 4 for an evening whilst in the area. Great find, room was spotless and very comfy. Bed (king size in this room) was also fantastic. Had evening meal with friends and this was great - chips to die for! Very reasonably priced. Yes, it (the room) was maybe laid out strangely but that didn't distract imo. All about the food and service which both first class. Pay the extra for the breakfast - you won't be disappointed! Lots of choice.

We arrived at 12.30pm and had previously booked for the 6 of us to eat lunch. It was extremely busy with a big queue for food and no obvious visibility to the bar. Holly ensured everything was handled professionally despite all this showing no angst whatsoever. She ensured the excellence of service. We all went for our food which was a superb carvery. The carver ensured that there were no complaints on meat amounts āļø. The kids meals arrived in a timely manner and it is a definite return journey for us all. Well done .

Had to wait to be seated. Then had to wait for table t9 be cleared. Currently been waiting for 15 mins to be served. Others arriving after us have been seen and served. Appreciate it's busy but doesn't account for rudeness. Had to go and request to be served. No apology when I challenged why it had taken so long and that others served before us Food arrived wasn't very nice. Black pudding mash over the top and not really mashed. belly pork overly fatty. Mustard slaw in sandwiches??????? None existent Not impressed

Stayed at the Manor Hotel over the road for 1 night and decided to pop in here for a couple of drinks. Has the feel of a proper local pub but the regulars and bar staff (Kieran was a great laugh and very welcoming) were all friendly and chatting away with us. It was Karaoke night with everyone getting involved having a right laugh. If you're visiting the area give this place a visit - you'll enjoy yourself!

The hotel, rooms and spa are lovely - I often have people staying there who visit us butā¦ā¦.Three of us ( all locals, in our 60ās) have been going to the bar at The Manor House regularly for about 6 years for a monthly get together for wine / whisky and chat and spend well over Ā£150 a session. However since some staff changes (staff leaving) the service and the attitude of some of the (largely untrained) staff has become very unwelcoming. Thereās a definite atmosphere of āwe donāt want localsā which as weāre often the only ones there is quite surprising and disappointing given our custom over the years.
