A lovely place to stop for a light snack or tea and cake. Good value, charming staff and exceptionally clean. Plus some lovely characters for people watching 🙂.

Out clients just wanted cake and tea, my colleague just wanted a drink I wanted a snack as I hadn't has had any lunch. a good place just for quick bite, soup and sandwiches, home made cakes, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

The staff are incredible hardworking volunteers. They work so hard and nothing is a bother to them I am telling you something if you could bottle the kindness from these people and give it away the world would definitely be a happier kinder place .. each and everyone of them are an utter god send and I am happy this place exists .. god bless you all

Passing through West Auckland and needing a break from travelling, we noticed 'The Well' tucked into the corner of the green. Plenty of parking, a lovely clean place and plenty of variety on the menu. One other good thing - the ability to buy & leave a coffee for someone who might not have enough money on the day.

Have visited this place many times. For hygiene, value for money and friendliness it's 5 star! It's the only place I would go on my own as someone will always chat to you. Lots of home made cakes and treats! Well worth a visit

What a lucky find! This place is run entirely by volunteers and is also the local food bank and "drop in" centre as well as being a great coffee shop. They also sell Fair Trade goods. Passing through en route from Northumberland to North Yorkshire, we looked around for a decent place for coffee and found The Well. Well.... The volunteers are friendly and only too pleased to talk to us as strangers and told us they're happy for people with issues to come in and talk (or not) and even stay all day and buy very little. This is a credit to the local church and the community as a whole. My wife and I do not profess a religion but that didn't matter, they were such lovely people. When in the area do go in and say hello! OOPS, nearly forgot. Because it's run by volunteers, the prices for coffee and cakes etc is very cheap, but that's not the main reason to go.

Passed it many times without realising how good it was. Fresh home made soup and coffee was lovely. Plenty of regulars in there as well without being too crowded. Will certainly be back!

We were travelling from Lindisfarne down to Oldham and were very much in need of a cup of tea and a nibble when we came across this cafe. They were just closing, but made us a pot of tea and got sandwiches out of the fridge for us. We were made so very welcome and we were told not to rush our food and drinks. We were delighted and so grateful that we had been able to have something to eat and drink to sustain us for the rest of our journey. Thank you to the lovely staff at this wonderful cafe.

Popped in here simply because there was a massive queue at the local post office. A very nice place for a tea or coffee, very friendly staff and customers. will use again.

We find the Well very friendly & welcoming. Staffed by volunteers from a local church, they have a tempting menu of light food, & nice teas & coffees. No one tries pushing religion at you, but if you ask for help, we are sure they would give it. They also have a food bank, for those in need, in these trying times. But the food is very nice, and appears to be made in house, and we enjoyed a lovely tea, & a Cappuccino. Excellent.

Now called PLATFORM ONE- Fifteas Vintage Tearoom. Same type of seating indoor and outdoor but a brighter, fresher look with clearer signage. Cornedbeef pie was the order of the day. Nice light pastry
