McDonald's in County Durham

Your a joke how can you get an order wrong when it comes direct to you on just eat half the order missing and it’s cold every time you can’t blame just eat either as you always do they don’t do the orders and put them on the bag you do they just deliver it

The strawberry milkshake looked half drank and was slimy with bits in it and they missed half my order. Don't bother, learn to cook.

I never write reviews but I used to work for macs for nearly 15 years and I know how many people complain and how demotivating it can be so I thought I would share my positive experience. We arrived to the drive thru around 1130pm and were greeted straight away. Our order was taken promptly we then paid and went to the last window. There was 1 car in front of us waiting so they were asked to park in the hold bay so we could receive our order. The service was quick and friendly at this window too. We then parked up to eat our food which was nice and hot (including the fries!) and all of our dips, napkins etc were included too. Great experience overall. Keep up the good work! Thank you.

Order totally wrong when I got home as usual. Stone cold also. This is the worst McDonald's in the area. Not once have they got my order rite.i got a cheese burger to days ago the cheese was frozen solid.

Absolutely ridiculous. Nothin but a den for teens 2 sit on there phones cudnt get a seat then they running all all over. Shudnt be allowed

This review is about a particular member of staff. As someone that works in a very similar field I have never seen such appalling customer service. I understand that it isn’t a job you’re going to be ecstatic about, but I do expect at least an ounce more politeness. We ordered our food, payed and then waited at the last window. Shannon opened the window, gave us our food and slammed the window before we had a chance to say thank you or ask for any sauces. She didn’t hand us our drink so we tapped on the window and she opened it with a very blunt “what”. We informed her we hadn’t received our drinks to which she replied “what drinks?” Again very blunt. We told her it was a latte and she once again slammed the window then returned with the drink. No sorry or politeness what so ever, not even a word. I don’t normally complain but I feel like the manager should be aware that their staff member, Shannon, needs a refresher on basic human manners.

Ordered on the App for restaurant collection and as I approached the front doors two employees emerged. The smaller of the two who looked like a scruffy smack rat coughed openly in the face of approaching customers before spitting towards the bin located directly outside the entrance. On leaving rat boy was standing in a cloud of vape directly in the path of customers. I know recruitment is difficult but come on surely you can do better than employing someone who is totally devoid of basic manners and social skills. As said in previous reviews I’d avoid this place at all costs.

On my way to chemo and really craving a cold creamy drink to help my infusion slip down and no milkshakes! Come on McDo- what's that about?

Fantastic meal best I’ve had in years chips were soft and fluffy. I’ve got loads of those are the burgers out of this world. I just can’t wait until the big test comes out in September. I think I might even pitch a tent outside the day before keep up the good work. From Mr Long Beard

Went for some much needed hangover cure food. Whilst the food I got was fairly standard McDonald’s (could have done with topping up the chips I got but that’s life) but by the time I got home I realised one of my main burgers was not there. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me at the restaurant. The food came fairly quickly for a Saturday dinner time, just a shame I’m always missing part of my order.

Why should a fast food joint take 20 minutes to serve me a burger so tepid the cheese had not melted one bit? I suspect that staffing levels have stayed the same despite all the takeaway drivers adding to demand. If you like cold burgers with cold fries go here.

Yet again for how many times at least the last 4 times I've been to McDonald's in Bishop Auckland the food is either wrong order, part of meal missing & hot drinks are always cold. I've had to take my food back at least 3 times when sitting in before I get correct hot food & drinks. Been again today & food & got drink cold.😡

I have been asked many times to not go into McDonalds at Tindale by family members, but I wanted to make a full day of fun for the grand children. After going in to this particular McDonalds I was horrified. One of the ladies was very helpful and cleaned the table when I requested this as well as the seat which was covered in sauce. Then I went to the toilets the wall was smeared with "poo", and it was poo/stains all the way down the outside of the loo. I felt sick after eating and then when reaching the table the grandchildren wanted to go, again it was like an assault course, taking each one and telling them not to touch the wall, or door as I kept it open with my foot. You had to pick the best toilet, it was that bad! I couldn't even say that it was cleaned regularly as it was clear the time I spent there it was not. The stains are terrible, it is not deep cleaned, as it should be. I have to say after this visit, I would not visit this place again, and certainly will not be purchasing from this particular McDonalds in the future. Food Hygiene rating after looking at the establishment, is zero and I felt physically sick all evening.

It’s like hell here people’s cars getting hit. People’s orders not being served as quick as they should be. Lots of people swearing.

Hopeless! 30 mins to order a Big Mac meal!! Travelled the world over and never witnessed such levels of inability and poor customer service!

I ordered 2 plant burger meals, no mustard, cheese, pickle or raw onion, for which I waited for over 30mins. When I got home with the now cold food, they had given me the wrong item, instead of the plant burger I received veggy fingers, which I do not like and am allergic to some of the ingredients. - I called them and did not get a reply. This place is dreadful but today was just unbelievable!! £3.69 for a fillet-o-fish which was dry, had half a cheese square and a dollop of sauce which was half on the bun half in the box! I've been trying to ring for over an hour but the line is busy (probably because of people ringing to complain!) Unacceptable and will definitely be my last visit.. they should be ashamed

Milkshakes unavailable far more often than not these days. This is one of the main attractions for most people and often causes disappointment. There must be a behind-the-scenes (probably money or laziness related) reason as machines never used to be this unreliable.

I had to wait an hour for my mozzarella dippers. After speaking to staff three times, I finally got my order. The first time I spoke to someone, I was told that it would be ready soon, that was after 20 minutes of waiting. After 40 minutes I spoke to someone else and I got my drink and McFlurry and was told they were waiting for the mozzarella dippers. After 60 minutes I asked for them for the last time and was finally given my mozzarella dippers and a refund. Unacceptable, thoroughly disappointed.

The meals was just as always for a fast food chain but how ever I wish they would do decaf tea and coffee as the other fast food out lets do this so come on get with the programme so to speak.

Waited in ordering queue yesterday for 10 mins, being ignored. No one taking orders and machines overtaken by loud school children. Walked out. Staff really stressed and seemingly unable to cope at lunchtimes. More staff and further training needed. Can't comment on food as didn't get any!!

It’s probably 2 years since I last had a McDs, but just had a fancy for one. I used the drive thro and was served immediately. The staff I spoke to or saw were cheery and friendly, and I had only a few minutes to wait for my meal. Tried The chicken Alabama with fries, followed by a McFlurry. Chicken was very tasty as was the McFlurry, fries were a bit soft but ok. Would definitely go again.

A teatime treat for our two grandchildren turned into a shambles disgusting food cold coffee and young teenagers being very unruly they were promptly told to behave by ourselves but no notice was taken staff polite but were under pressure needs someone older in charge to supervise the floor during busy times

Visit here from time to time. Food always hot and tasty. Staff friendly and always apologise if there is a wait.

You visit knowing exactly what you want and that's what you get, always good service speedy , and very friendly

I cant believe how bad this McDonald's is. Not only fo they rarely get an order right but when they do its freezing! Ive had a few codes to redeem because they replace meals occasionally.. however those meals are usually rank as well. Today was the final straw. The porridge was a giant lump which i tried to mix up but it turned into a million little lumps. DO NOT GO HERE!!! The lady who cleans the table is the only good member of staff. The rest are always laughing and acting the fool. The place is vile,the order machines dont work and the toilets are flooded with wee. Never again!!

Went through the drive through. It was very busy but the staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. Considering the queue of traffic we were served very quickly. Due to hot weather just had a crunchie McFlurry . Up to its usual standatd. Very pleasant experience all round.

Food is kept warm under heater rather than being cooked fresh. Been a couple times just in case it was a one off, but same experience. Food arrives cold or Luke warm. Only decent thing is the breakfast.

This McDonald's is located on a small retail part on the outskirts of Bishop Auckland. It is next to several supermarkets and shops, as well as a Starbucks, KFC and a Pizzahut so there is a lot of choice to contend with. As a McDonald's you should expect the food menu to be similar, as you would for the decor and the price, as well as the standard of cleanliness and service you receive. That said, I have been to this restaurant three times and I have always left disappointed.When it is busy, it is busy and you appear to wait a lot longer than the three minutes you should in the queue (more like ten) and it looks like there is no-one to clean the tables of the floors. The place, for a restaurant with a modern interior, feels like the spark has been taken out of it and no-one really has any passion for maintaining it anymore.The last time I went my mate ordered for me for the at table service and it took about fifteen minutes for my food to arrive which when it did was luke warm with limp fries. The place was heaving with people just standing everywhere in the way and the tables looked like they needed emptying. The whole thing just felt chaotic and manic and like the priority was to get people in and out opposed to helping them to 'have a nice day'. I used to work for McDonald's and I passionate bout the customer service, quality, value and cleanliness that they represent. I am also a fierce advocate of value for money and people being given a service and product that is up to standard (having worked in retail, hospitality, customer service and catering) and I think this restaurant has let his standards slide. This is more surprising given the competition that it available within a few minutes walk where us, as consumers, have the money to make choices where we spend it. Would I recommend a visit? If it is not busy, you are not bothered about having luke warm food and you want something cheap and cheerful then probably.

And many others thought the same. Tasteless burgers. Buns sliding in opposite directions due to too much sloppy sauces. Diet watery syrupy drinks and a car park full of kids with nothing better to do. Overflowing bins by midday and not much change out of £20. McDonalds is old fashioned and over priced

It's fair to say from day one there has been issues with the machine which dispenses milkshakes. I cannot believe a company which belongs to such a large complex cannot get there act together, it's so disappointing. I will in future will consider using the Thinford branch as they don't seem to experience these issues ! get your act together Bishop Auckland

New style. Very clean, staff very friendly and the food was actually hot. Loved the Jamaican Chicken.

I went to this restaurant as a means to kill time and get out of the rain.The staff were friendly and helpful, the place spotless - looked clean enough to be able to eat off anywhere.From placing the order, receiving it, to sitting down was about 3 minutes.The quality and quantity are good for the price so if you have some time to kill around that area pay this place a visit.
