Lovely food the staff are lovely and friendly

Visited St Helens Bishop Auckland. Dirty place, poor quality and expensive food. There was a 20min wait for a ham and cheese panini. The tables were filthy and plates of food left on the table plus food debris all over. We had to clean the table before we could use it. The table needs to us was covered in food and had dirty plates on it. Ten minutes into our meal a waitress came over and using a serviette she swiped the food onto the floor, piled up the plates and left them on the table. We left straight after that and won't be back. What a mucky hole.

Once again there is no one out front to serve . We come here twice a week and most time we have to wait for someone to come out from the back to serve . Should have someone out front all the time or have a bell or something to let them know customers are waiting . . I have just sat here eating and there have been customers waiting for over 5 minutes to be served

Very slow service, need more staff on a Sunday. Had to ask for my table to be cleared. Not enough people running it

Regularly have a coffee during the week. Food is very good and good choice

Regularly visit our local tesco cafe and can't fault it

Tesco cafe is one of the friendliest, most accessible cafes in Bishop. The cafe is family friendly, with attentive and warm staff, tasty food and an excellent coffee akin to other local coffee shops. There is a range of food , from breakfast items (breakfast items served all day which is a bonus) to something more hearty for whatever you feel like eating.

Staff very pleasant, bacon roll simply awful. Cheap bacon and even cheaper roll.

Not a good experience today. We come here twice a month and normally no issues. Today though we paid £2.50 for 10 chips. Told this is a normal portion. I'm sorry but this has never been the case when we eat here. No real care when told about it just walked off with empty bowl without addressing the issue. The kids meal we ordered had more chips. We can normally share a portion of chips between 2 of us for reference. It may be trivial but spending £20 every time we come here to be ripped off just once is enough to sour our experience of this place. I don't plan to return. Just a heads up for anyone craving chips!

Fast efficient service,good value 4 money & friendly staff! Placed order then realised my mate wanted fried bread on his breakfast not toast (my mistake) spoke to a member of staff & sorted 4 him! We will definitely b back soon!😁

Me and my Dad went here today. First time in probably 5 + years. We got jacket potatoes and cappuccinos. Nice staff and nice food. Well priced. We will be back. Thank you. Oh and comfy chairs and tables.

Sold me a tea and a cake and then told me they had no white sugar fir my tea as they had run out! This is a supermarket cafe.....with no white sugar......in other words can't be bothered to get some from rje shop floor. Disgraceful.

Chips were great. Much better than sainsbury's café

Worst breakfast ever tasteless and greasy

Nice little cafe, breakfast was good and it was everything you’d expect from a store cafe.

Came here to eat at around 3pm. Wasn't too busy and there was plenty of tables free. Sat overlooking the shop floor so we could people watch! I had the vegan breakfast, and it tasted great but was a little lacking. No bacon substitute and no hash browns sucked a little. The mango smoothie though - WOW. Food took quite a while to come, but I'm guessing there's only one person in the kitchen so don't mind that to much. The menu has recently changed and the vegetarian/vegan options arent the greatest, but that's personal opinion. Will come again.

Ordered a Sourdough ham and cheese toasties and a chicken burger. What we got was a plain white bread toastie and little chicken goujon on a bun. Pretty rubbish fare. There's no excuse for not having the bread when it's widely available downstairs. Disappointing.

Small cafe above Tesco Extra, struggled to find it in store until my 8 year old pointed out the sign was very hard to see the one above the lift, is almost like one of those pictures when you hide the numbers like colours. But found it, staff on the counter seemed lovely. Although they advised it would be a half hour wait for food it was only about 15 minutes. We did have to wait for the table to be cleaned as the woman who was meant to be cleaning was too busy talking to her friend so I had to stand holding the tray until she could be bothered. Then she promptly swept all the crumbs on my husband's knee. But her service doesn't reflect in the food which was amazing, the chips were cooked to perfection and the buns crispy and golden, the chicken burger was juicey and my husband even said his Macaroni cheese was fantastic and it does take a lot to please his autism. Overall it was worth the short wait for the tastey food and would have had a 5 star review if it wasn't for the poor waitress service.

I will give 5 star for food but today myself my 3 grandchildren and my nana went we were served by lovely young lad however the tall slim lad was very rude I asked if he could clear our table and clean it before our food came out he mumbled something then said you will have to wait which we did for 5 then 10 then 15 mins he took plates away and after 30 mins I had asked him again to wipe down tables eventually our food came and the girl had to wip table before putting food down I told her and she assured us she would tell manager but then on way out her wS very rude to other customers we go in everyweek but after today we won't be back because of him

There were no free tables that weren't still covered in the dirty plates from the last people to sit there. Chips were dry and covered in black bits and coffee was like warm. Will not be returning.

You can sit and people watch from the upstairs seating area 😂 Coffee itself delicious and reasonably priced lost only a star because the staff on the counter wasn’t behind the counter and we had to wait and never bothered asking if we had a club card - pedantic maybe but all other Tesco staff automatically ask you if you have one

Just had breakfast here, we had a full breakfast & a sausage sandwich, the sausage in the sandwich was cold and the breakfast was luke warm. Normally we cook breakfast at home but decided to dine out, not great, wish we'd not bothered.
