We picked this tea shop at random from the several cafes in Corbridge and are so pleased we did. The friendly staff serve delicious home made food - I particularly recommend the lentil soup on a cold winters day. Do come here if you are in the area.
Well what a brilliant place. We got room 16 the view was good and no noise.
The room smells of gloss paint so we think recently decorated.
Very mod and clean, reasonably price with breakfast.
We had our evening meal here as we were tired and ate in the bar due to having 2 well behaved dogs.
We both had prawns and burgers and they did not disappoint.
Definitely stop here again.
I'm on record as having said on many occasions that if they awarded PhDs for scone-tasting, I should have a dozen. I've eaten scones in venues from the Orkney Islands to Australia and written about them in more publications than I could possibly remember. So, you can take my word for it that the freshly-baked, home-made scones (with butter and strawberry jam) at No.6 are quite possibly the best I've tasted in recent years. Cafe No 6 is a quaint place with a very atmospheric first-floor eating area, a delightful owner and staff who look like they are actually enjoying the job they do. My wife and I were just as impressed with the special 'doggy menu' on offer. We shall be back!
Free motorhome Park up fir the night prompted us to stop by. Lovely warm welcome, good prices and a selection of ales made a great evening. Pet friendly so could take Dougie our cat in with us. Have been back multiple times. Our favourite park up in the area. ❤️
Una familia de 5 generaciones para el almuerzo del día de Navidad. Gran comida y excelente servicio. Definitivamente iré de nuevo. Buenas porciones de comida y relación calidad-precio.
Very disappointed no atmosphere felt cold, got there at 9 mins to 2. Albeit food till 2pm wanted soup and sandwich but was told the chef had already closed the kitchen. I had a black tea which had a coffee taste. Husband had a pint which was cloudy and of poor quality. Would avoid this place at all costs. Everything you don't expect in a pub.

Over 2 hours to process an order, over £30 might I add. No communication updates from them, we had to chase it up 2 or 3 times. No apologies for the wait not even an offer of a free item for the inconvenience. If I could put no stars I would have.
Called in to Seaham hall for a cream tea with a friend. Directed to the bar area which was unstaffed. Waited 10 minutes then had to go looking for staff to serve us. We were served cold coffee. Had to go looking for staff to advise of this, no one to be found. Eventually caught the attention of a passing waitress who renewed coffees to slightly warmer ones. Scones were beautiful but no one came to check if we were happy and I again had to look for someone to pay the bill. Very disappointing service for what is meant to be a 5 star hotel!
We called in on Sunday hoping we could get a table for 2 without booking. It was quite busy but we were shown to a table straight away, in the Conservatory. Drinks ordered and menus brought over. My wife chose the chicken and I had the beef. Absolutely beautiful and very reasonably priced. Staff were all extremely friendly and professional. We will be back, but will probably book in future.
We stayed for a few days at Purdy Lodge in September & October. Whilst there, we decided to have dinner there on one of the nights. There is an area of the restaurant which is dog friendly which is great.
Staff were pleasant and friendly
The starter in Sept was delicious! Sticky Belly Pork & Black Pudding Salad. When it came out you would have thought we were dining in a fine dining restaurant. It was beautifully presented, and a good portion size too. It tasted amazing and the belly pork was soft and tender. It was just a shame when we visited in October it was no longer on the menu. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!
The mains and pudding were just as good, but the belly pork was just next level.
pizza was normal. i think they just need to hire more service staff. need to order extra and i'm like monkey on an isolated island need to keep waving to get attention
