The best restaurants in St James's City of London, Westminster London

The last 2 times we have been staff seemed irritable - service was lacklustre, unrefined and slow. Sparkling wine was flat and not chilled, when I politely asked for it to be changed the waiter came across annoyed. They seem to store drinks outside as they prioritise the courtyard area. New snacks are stale and put us off ordering from the menu. Fine for a pub but not for an establishment like The American Bar. I don’t mind wild life but having pigeons in the bar hopping around causing chaos could be avoided by vigilant staff!!Hopefully management jump onto this as the bar was one of our favourites.

Super slow service, bad quality food (ordered chicken and cheese panini and there was literally no cheese) and dry bread. Plus £5 extra charge for dine in instead of takeaway which wasn't even mentioned while placing the order. Also kind of rude.

Best BBQ my friend and I have ever had. Price performance great. Would love to come back. The area is a bit cramped, the grill and furnishings are generally a bit cramped, ordering via tablet - very relaxed. Everything came very quickly and the staff was very friendly. We had the beef combo for €49 for 2, which was perfect.

A lovely, refined hotel in the heart of London. Prime location, exceptionally friendly staff, and a unique boutique hotel atmosphere. We gladly return!

This beautiful art deco lounge is conveniently located in Covent Garden near popular West End theaters. The drinks were delicious, thank you Sam! The environment is immaculate with comfortable seating, relaxing lighting, and pleasant background music. The staff was amazing! Hugo, supervisor, was elegantly welcoming and sophisticated and classy matching the atmosphere of the lounge. James and Kyle were friendly and charming company keeping the clientele engaged and well fed! The food by the way, both nibbles and small meals were delicious. We had a wonderful time and our experience was enhanced by the people who worked there. There were others whose names I didn’t know. They were so very gracious!!! They were happy to be there and that was contagious!!!!

We came quite late for lunch so our usual cafe had sold out of sandwiches and we noticed this place. We sat outside and had a couple of their focaccia sandwiches, one chicken and one vegetarian with a cappuccino. The coffee was very good. The sandwiches were nice but could have had more filling. The prices were good for the immediate vicinity of Covent Garden.

A nice place for a sit down with a coffee that gets a LOT busier at lunchtime when the nearby offices empty.

So so disappointed in the lack of customer service of this company. We came from Canada and booked our tour months ago, which just so happened to have landed on the night before the queens funeral, boarding at Westminster Pier directly in front of the 4-mile queue for the viewing. Being foreigners, roads were closed off like crazy, and despite us leaving early, our bus took us a completely different route. We messaged the tour operator, and when we finally showed up one-minute past due (7:46pm), the crew member looked at us as he denied us entry, then proceeded to undock the boat, and then ignored us as he drifted away (photo attached with time stamp, 7:47pm). When we phoned customer service, they refused to refund us the $75-per-person or even reschedule our tour, but rather just offered us a 50% discount on our next booking. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m shocked that there was 1. No response to our message to the tour operator, and still nothing hours later 2. no grace period, even when the entire nation is

El yogur helado era agradable, aunque un poco caro, pero el verdadero placer era conseguir una pequeña mesa alrededor de la parte trasera del autobús para sentarse en un viernes bastante ocupado en Southbank. Esto puede sonar tonto, pero el yogur helado "original" es muy yogur (me gustó porque la hija de 12 años no estaba acostumbrada a ese sabor). Aunque a los dos nos gustó el sabor a cereza.

This is another Chinatown bakery outlet on Wardour street. Tried the mixed vanilla and green tea taiyaki ice cream and it tasted good.

The food was nice. The service was very considered. The coffee is truly awful. Change the beans/machine or whatever the problem is. It's very expensive at 4.25 an espresso which makes it even more disappointing that it's so rank!

Desayuno inglés súper completo, acompañado de café suave fuerte y coronado con OJ recién exprimido. ¡Muy bien! Y a un precio muy razonable. El servicio era amable (y rápido) y realmente se sentía como si estuviéramos de vacaciones.

Went there today for a wedding lunch and it was so insanely good. Cannot fault a thing and am looking forward to returning with my family for a smaller dinner soon.

Me sentí muy apresurado. No hace descuento NHS/Bluelight. Cuando pedí un intestino de sopa para poder ayudar a consumir parte del caldo que estoy pagando, me dijeron que no bebíamos el caldo. Entonces, ¿por qué estoy pagando por ello sólo para poder cocinar mi comida. No pago por el aceite para cocinar mi pescado y papas fritas. Muy caro £ 86 para 2 personas sin bebidas entrante o postre
