Farmer J St James’s in City of London, Westminster

I found the portion sizes generous and the menu incorporates Middle Eastern flavours. Delicious and nutritious at the same time. I’ll be back and next time I’ll definitely build field-trays.

This is just not for me. If rated on appearance I would give a 5, on flavor 1. I disposed of 2/3 of my meal. I just could not eat it. How can you fail with flank steak, potatoes and rice. Rice has the texture of gravel. Steak was seasoned with something awful. My favorite comment was when my wife said “these beans are fresh, like uncooked fresh”. I hope my disappointment doesn’t deter your visit, I would normally love something like this but it just wasn’t to be. The apple crunch was amazing. I really believe this just didn’t fit my taste but I struggle to explain why.

Food was ok nothing great. Ordered a tofu bowl and a brownie. Can be more environmentally conscious as brownie came in a plastic box.

Extremely small portions, effectively a light snack, in two mouthfuls the lunch tray was finished. £12.75 for a small meal like this is unacceptable. Only saving

Best fooddd. They have a variety of dishes and they are always great. They also have matcha and the food is healthy which can be taken for take away. The breakfast options are very good

Decent spot for a quick bite Not exactly a full-on restaurant, but a decent place to grab something to eat. The food was fairly good overall — just avoid the steak, it wasn’t the best. Portions were a bit on the small side, but for UK standards, the prices were quite reasonable. Worth a try if you're nearby and not too hungry.

So grateful that Farmer J doesn't serve veggie protein options after 17:30 so us carnivores can have a safe space to eat away from the wokes

Really cute lunch spot with lots on the menu. If you are looking for healthy but yummy lunch I definitely recommend. The staff member that served me wasn’t the nicest but the others were. The food was delicious but on the pricey side. Definitely recommend trying.

Genuinely delicious! I felt I had lots of choice even as a vegetarian.

Food was genuinely good. Reminded me of Sweetgreen in the States. Issue is with this location half the seats are taken up with people on laptops or revising without buying any product, leaving you having to ask people to move their items off the three chairs they're taking up. Not ideal to do as the customer.

Ordered Salmon but was given Chicken. Didn't realise until I went back to the office as lunch hour is a rush in Farmer J. Couldn't eat my lunch as it ended up not meeting my dietary requirement and wasted £10

The greatest gift for all mankind. I eat here every other day and I’m still not tired. If anyone wants to do research of how to create a viral successful restaurant - take notes. The brand is warm and welcoming - from use of wood and plants to yellow lighting. The food is very affordable AND delicious AND nutritious. It’s open 6/7 days a week am to pm. Coffees are great, snacks and sweets are great - my everyday fav mic is Charmoula chicken w grains, cabbage n aubergine, ceasar salad. But I alternate with sweet potato and other salads. All are insanely delicious and I genuinely am in 7th heaven every time I have this meal. Try tahini hot choc if you want a really sweet soothing beverage. Obsessed with reemies banana bread bites - you’re welcome.

Fresh and well cooked food, varied and healthy menu. Fast and essential service. Very nice and functional environment. A fast food restaurant with fresh produce, lots of vegetables. Medium-high prices in line with the area.

Was recommended to come here for a quick, tasty and affordable meal. I had the spinach base with steak and 2 sides, and the portions were just nice. The quality of the food is quite evident and most of the dishes were tasty without being overbearing. The staff were welcoming and friendly and I would highly recommend anyone to come here for a meal instead of at the main tourist areas that may be a little crowded.

The staff are rude specially in launching time when the place gets busy, specially the ladies staff, they are damaging the restaurant’s reputation. They don’t serve the customers nicely. They don’t give a chance to customer choose their food carefully. They should be trained very well!

I went for 3 hours trial shift and unfortunately it was a bad experience. No assistant manager and General Manager asked me about myself and my experience. They just invited me for timepass. After 2 days I got an email that your interview has been cancelled but how it could be possible when i already did 3 hours trial shift but I think they are not doing their job properly so its better to them resign so another person can get chance. I would like to give in minus rating but it is not possible.

i was really craving lots and lots of veggies and this totally hit the spot! (i got mac and cheese, mushroom and winter veg?, and another salad that i don’t exactly remember) sure it was pricey for £9.25 but so is…pret and all the other lunch spots where the food is not nearly as fresh

Got lunch from here on a working day. There was a really long queue outside, but moved very fast. It seemed to be a really popular place, and if I had more time I would have liked to sit inside to enjoy my lunch. The markdown on food is because a tiny pot of extra sauce was 50p! I would have expected a lot more for 50p. The extra sauce must have been just a spoon-full. The choices of salads and bowls are good and offer a good mix of greens and protein. Good location too just off St James Park.

Fantastic tasty food at very reasonable prices. The menu allows you to choose a base of brown rice, farmers seed or spinach. To the base you add a main course which for me was the Seasonal Mac & Cheese, for my partner he chose the Curry Tofu. To the base and main you are asked to add 2 sides which for both of us was the Cauliflower and Broccoli. Fantastic flavors and very fresh food. Overall, quality food.

Stumbled across this when looking for somewhere to have a quick pre-theatre supper, with vegans, in Westminster. Perfect! Like McDonalds, only with delicious, freshly prepared food! We liked the cauliflower side in particular, we've all been googling the recipe!

Can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is great both at breakfast & lunch that you feel like you’ve had a filling healthy meal. Coffee is also great & the staff are so nice, attentive & efficient. Don’t let the large lunch time queue put you off - you’ll be in and out within 10 minutes

Spacious and spotless lunch place in very central London. Despite the location the prices are reasonable, they run a tight ship so you can get served very quickly from a rotating variety of world cuisine dishes that are delicious and with enough nuance in spices to beat your usual quick lunch joint.

Fast food and therefore what we are going for. I value the service better because of the treatment that the employees gave us, in terms of information and help. They prepare it for you on the spot to take away or eat there.

This was the most memorable eating experience of our vacation. Not because its sofistication, but because its simplicity anda beauty. Topu was amazing. Anda the have sustainable practices,lise single use Woods utensils. Loved the whole thing.

Nice and correct to have something quickly for breakfast but there are better options in central London to choose from. Price is ok though.

A good price-performance ratio. If you are looking for an alternative to the classic street food burgers, pizza and others, this is a good choice. Being able to eat on the go and eat well. I appreciated the wide choice of vegetables offered, steamed, raw in salads, hot, cold... for all tastes.

We have just spent a few days in London with our grand children and found Farmer J by accident. We loved it so much we kept going back. The food was excellent. It was great to find a place that provides such healthy food . The variety is superb and we enjoyed trying the different dishes. We hope to go back to London and will be certainly going back to Farmer J. Wish we had Farmer J up here

Got SEVERE POISONING when ordered from that place . This was the only meal I ate that day. Part of the sizes were burnt , of course I did not eat it. It must have been meat or rice , or tahini aubergine. This poisoning was worse than being sick from shellfish. Never again . So many ingredients, they probably don’t control well the hygiene, washing practices or freshness of what is on display. Maybe don’t throw away what is left end of the day ..

I stopped in here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. This is akin to chipotle with different food, but the concept is the same. I thought the food was very fresh and it tasted great. I got the chicken with the sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese. The price was reasonable for what you received and I really can’t complain. I’d visit this chain again if I visit the area again.

I had the harissa habibi bowl and it was honestly better than I was expected. The salted caramel cookie was absolutely horrendous, gummy, flavourless and expensive. I can't believe they are selling something so terrible. The employees are rude and the tables were all quite dirty. The harissa chicken was really good though. I can only recommend that.

Rudest staff you will ever see. Incapable woman leading the staff. Unhygienic handling of products by everyone. Products are not washed and everyone touches the products on each tray with bare hands. Shocked by these peoples behaviours.

Ordered a bento and chose mac & cheese and sweet potato, which are good, but aubergine is a bit too greasy. Base is farmer J grains which is okay. Overall the taste is good but not as healthy as I expected 😂 but will visit again to try more options. (Second visit) love the salmon and sweet potatoes again 🤣

Rapidly declining value for money I have been visiting Farmer J at least 3 times a week since it opened in Victoria last year. Sadly, the quality of the food and size of the portions has been on a gradual decline, leaving me to now sadly consider taking my business elsewhere. Portion size: within the first 6 months of opening, the food portions were generous, which meant value for money was just about OK (given you tend to pay £10-12 for what tends to be a very simple meal). Since the turn of the year, the portions have been getting laughably small - to the extent there are now gaps on the prison-like cardboard tray. We have queried this a few times with the workers (in the most part are very friendly and happy to help!), who begrudgingly added a smidge more rice to the tray. Food quality: the meat has declined in quality. It is rubbery, and often not hot despite the staff putting new portions under the lights regularly. In addition, the sweet potato is now rancid. I suspect there has been a change in the oil used to cook them… would not recommend. Would like this place to turn around (there are only few adequate lunch spots in Victoria), although it’s becoming more challenging to remain loyal.

It’s the best place to eat healthy. Who says British food isn’t tasty? Give it a try.

I wish this concept and quality was implemented more broadly across the country, and I'm happy that during the lunchtime there is usually a long line of customers there. A very good place.

Attended yesterday and there was no macaroni in the macaroni dish! It was like a cheese and peas soup instead! I pointed this out to the staff and then the manager, after the staff insisted the dish had macaroni but the peas were runny! The manager, who said her name was Giselle, acknowledged there was no pasta in the dish. When I asked how long for a new dish of macaroni, she abruptly stated there would be no more macaroni available for the entire day! I felt like she was annoyed with me for pointing this issue out and was being unhelpful on purpose. She never apologized for the inconvenience and was indifferent and dismissive instead. I was most disappointed in the poor service. Matters were made worse that I had travelled an hour into London with family to eat at Farmer J.

This is a nice cafe for some coffee and breakfast. Lots of food on offer, from oats to sandwiches to super food. Just order with the staff behind the glass and follow the queue to the beverage line and then followed by the cashier. I had fresh avocado on sourdough and the servings of avo is pretty generous. There are a lot of table available and I saw quite a number of working adults just sitting there having their breakfast while working on their laptop. Found the high table seats just in front of the full glass window extra therapeutic especially on a rainy London day.

It's a great place. Shame the servers a not as committed to service as you'd like them to be. During quieter times ( not lunch) the staff appear very disinterested and the service reminds me of "canteen" servers, not happy, just going through the motions of service. The quality of food in the evening reflects this. Lunch time the food is fresh and staff seem energetic at dinner time the food sat under the hotplate for far too long, overcooked and tired (the staff and the food). I've eaten here often enough to say that's a fair review of my personal experience.

First impression was ok, but the portion of the meat is small and way too oily.. which is not healthy!

Many food options, taste is great. Queue goes very fast as well. They seem to have obviously started to reduce the portion sizes in the last weeks.

I was introduced by a work colleague and the food was amazing! The queue was not long at all and the menu was very easy to read. I ordered a field tray, which consists of a base, main and two sides; I chose grains, harissa chicken, mac n cheese and the kale salad (the croutons was the best part!). I paid £10.50 and it was definitely worth it. They also have various baked treats which looked delicious. I will definitely be returning very soon and will dine in next time !

The food from here was really nice, had a bit of a wait for my meal but wasn't the worst. Premium London prices but I expected that. Overall worth a luxury lunch every so often.

Great place to pick up a quick morning breakfast. Healthy, quick and good value for London. The shakshuka bowl is a real winner! Only bit of feedback is the coffees are left a little lacking here - so maybe ask for a double shot if you need that kick.
