Altered my original review (4 stars) because it is now my favourite coffee store

I think this was the best latte of my life. The espresso is really smooth, not too bold and well balanced. Also the staff was super friendly, especially Dominic who explained a bit about the beans they use and pointed out their other location. I hope I’ll be back before I leave London!

Limited seating, better suited for takeaway coffee

The coffee might not have been bitter but gee the female who took my order was. She was determined not to smile or show any sign of pleasant customer service. Perhaps put her out the back as it was not a pleasant experience getting g her attitude.

Filter coffee was tasted stale. Cafe is too cold to stay in although there is seating downstairs. Good service though.

A very pleasant place in the centre of the city. It might look small from the outside, but there is plenty space downstairs if you want to sit down and relax. The wooden interior is different from your usual coffee shop, it's not exactly cosy,, but it's definitely nice in its own way. I ordered a flat white and it was spot-on. The milk had just the right texture and the temperature was perfect. It is clear that baristas have been trained well. You can also get some here, and they really thought about everyone - they cater to different dietary needs.

The girls behind the counter are always so friendly when taking my order and when they’re free have a nice chat while making my drink. The coffee is always lovely and the food is good too.

Great coffee and good place but so frustrating to be served coffee and water in takeaway cups 1 hour and a half before closing time. What's the point in having the ceramic mugs and cups? Not great.

Scenically placed coffee shop with buttery smooth espresso drinks. They carry baked goods from Lockdown Bakery - whose delicious and amazing lamington cakes are the size of a baseball and good to the last little coconut-y bite. 😍

The nose-ringed barista gives a look of such contempt with every order that I usually pick up a second napkin to dry my eyes. The filter coffee is good, but runs out early.

Seems overrated to me. I got an oat flat white. Coffee tasted good but foam was without any pattern whatsoever and was just coffee coloured, very boring especially for the price. Not particularly comfortable to sit either.

Very cool decor and has a spacious downstairs area & ideal for studying, meetings, and socialising. WiFi is available, fantastic coffee & delicious bakes available. Lovely customer service & has a fair bit of hustle and bustle.

I love this place and come here almost every day for my morning coffee, however charging 40p for any other milk but dairy is a bit crazy especially nowadays when a lot of coffee shops don’t :) brings a £3.30 coffee up to £4 which is quite steep just for a small coffee

Adorable little hidden coffee gem in the depths of an area with nothing but not high quality coffee chains. From the friendly greeting of the workers to the calm atmosphere — this place has no flaws. Would highly recommend their flat white with oat milk!

Cool place for coffee. Sandwiches were tasty and service lovely.

Disposable forks are the only option and they charge you to use non-paper cups. While most cafes give you a discount for not using paper cups, this place actually encourages ruining the environment.

Not many gluten free options, but the coffee was incredible. The place is very cosy with a nice warm atmosphere in the basement.

1 week ago (today is 2 december 22) after ordered for lunch a sandwich for take away I go for paying 5.50 (take away price) by card and the young cashier made me pay 5.90 (eat inside price) and when I let her know she looked at me almost disgusted saying "it's only 40 p" instead of saying sorry, then after I decided that just because of that reaction that I wanted to have 40 p back she said "I don t have coins" so after 2, 3 seconds she took the offering jar and after shaking in a noisy and teatrical way she gave me 1 pound so I gave that to her with a more disgusted face and said Goodbye. It just felt I had to leave a trace of that wonderful girl who probably still works there.

It tends to be a good sign when you see aeropress for sale and this place is no exception. Friendly service and excellent espresso - highly recommended.

Not many options around, the cake was lackluster (dry and many days old) and overall it’s a bit expensive. But the coffee itself was delicious, decor is great, and for the area I’d recommend it - just steer clear of the pastries.

I really like this cafe! I had their espresso and walnut coffee cake today, and it was really good. I'll be back for sure - much better than the other boring chain cafes in the area.

Excellent coffee and sweet treats. A tiny place with a surprisingly large seating area downstairs. Beautiful decor. Plush leather seats in a quiet nook. Perfect place to catch up on some work or just to relax and recharge.

Pretty expensive for a coffee shop that does average coffee and has a very limited selection of sandwiches/salads. Some of the servers are super unfriendly too which is hard to overlook at their prices.

Maybe I went in on a bad day because I have encountered many friendly servers at this place.. that being said, I was served by one of the most unfriendly servers I have ever come across yesterday. She was so unfriendly that I actually just wanted to leave despite having just bought a pot of tea.. This place is super expensive as well so it is a lot harder to overlook bad customer service

Great find! A cafe with cosy spaces to sit downstairs and people-watching stools in the upstairs windows. Also, loads of power points for phone charging. We both had couscous salads also suitable for takeaway, and it was very tasty and enough to keep us going most of the day! Coffee and mocha also great. Non-milk alternatives available. Great-looking cakes and pastries and friendly, helpful staff.

Excellent foam on the cappuccino; I only intended on visiting once, but ended up going back a second time because it was quite good!

Excellent coffee and treats. Independent coffee shop on Fleet Street. Check out their sister shop on chancery lane. Arguably the best hot chocolate in the area (5 types of chocolate - with several milk options). Delicious Portuguese and Italian pastries.. try the almond & orange cake… smiley efficient service. Independents are NOT dead. Well done!

Finding specialty coffee shops in cities is my hobby and I was pleasantly surprised with this little gem. Coffee is roasted in in-house, and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and want to chat coffee which Is always a plus in my book. If I’m ever passing here again will def be back.

Press Coffee is a little pricey but the staff here are really friendly. My friend and I got their masala chai and chai latte - both of these are a classic and were super nice. I do wish they had been served hotter, though.

I have been visiting this lovely coffee shop since 2011. I love their Hot Chocolate very much, especially the White Hot Chocolate. Of course, they serve great Espresso.
