Genuinely one of my favourite pubs, Patrick was our server and took great care of us! The roast was one of the best I’ve had in the area! Can’t recommend enough!

Would not go again. The staff was kinda pissed when we ordered, the whole atmosphere was bad and didn't really invite us to stay. Also saw how the cook was handling the food with bare Handy after touching his mouth and nose without cleaning, not really hygienic.

What a smashing place. Not many people there when we were there but the staff were great. Really friendly and accommodating (even playing music that we requested) - And there’s a pool table which provided hours of amusement. We will be back.

I’ve been here a few times now in the last couple weeks and it’s no short than amazing service, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting staffs, ashantè, Zaire & Paris & they are lovely… very accommodating and efficient!! I’ll definitely be back & the food was a 10!! Also good music

Excellent service on a Sunday from The Leconfield! Bar staff were friendly and attentive. Crisp and fresh pints being served - with exceptionally tasty food! Credit to the dedicated Chef! Nice and welcoming atmosphere with multiple screens for major sport events, followed by contemporary music and also the bonus of seeing a live musician. Worst roast I ever had and I had many roast took 1 hour to bring the roast I asked for beef and they bring lamb so they took another 30 to bring me the beef and had the same gravy as the other plate horrible . I told them and they still fully charged me . Not coming back roast doesn’t look like the pictures

Very friendly and helpful staff. We were a big group and they did remarkably well getting all the orders right. Portions were good. The pork was amazing, the beef not so good but that would be their supplier. Had a lovely time.

Lovely little pub near us, very happy it now has a pool table and 2 for 1 burger deal! Fantastic burger and home made chips. Couldn't post a picture as we were too busy tucking in, it looked that great. It's normally a bit quiet when it really shouldn't be, would love to see more folk inside but makes for a calm change.

Great pub, cosy atmosphere, always really friendly staff and just tried the burgers tonight which were banging. Love that they have a pool table now too! New local for us!

Had snacks last week and were lovely. Roast dinner was fabulous so tasty. Had the veg Wellington the best I have ever had with special touches by the chef. Eight of us and all loved the food.

Haloumi fries, chicken bites and olives with sough dough......fantastic. rrally friendly staff and a pool table as well. Warmth by the open fire...happy days. Thank you, we will be back

Great Sunday Lunch in a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Been to a number of places for Sunday Lunch in the area, and The Leconfield is by far the best.

Yummmmmy had The Full Farm to taste each of the meats..this Chef has it down to a tee.. very tasty and still I want more.. great crackling. I’m not vegetarian but I asked a customer how it was, as my partner is vegetarian but wasn’t here, and they genuinely said it was great.. so sorted for all tastes..bring it on 👍

We came to the Leconfield for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the roast and the friendly service. Portions were really big and tasty, would definitely recommend. The Yorkshire pudding was awesome!

I came here yesterday to have the Barley’s roast dinner and it was beautiful, great portion and the flavours were amazing 💕 I had minted lamb chops, jerk chicken, rice and peas, roast potatoes with veg and I ordered plantain & coleslaw as extras. Overall my experience was great, kitchen and bar staff were friendly and welcoming, good atmosphere in here too.

New chefs and food was to die for, so fresh and full of flavour, sunday lunches are amazing to definitely recommend. Lots of choice and sticky toffee pudding is homemade and delicious.

I enjoyed a wonderful Barleys roast. I had a trio of three meats followed by the milky bar cheesecake. It was splendid. :)

Visited today with family, 6 of us all together. We ordered a mixture of foods and drinks. We were served by a lovely young lady for drinks. The food was absolutely amazing. The two female chefs cooked all the food to an amazing standard. The small open kitchen is lovely. All Of our plates were clean when we finished eating. We then had two desserts of Milky Bar Cheesecake and again they didn’t disappoint us. The chefs have only just started in this pub and we were unable to find any fault with the food, drinks and service. They will be starting doing Sunday roasts as of next weekend, so we are looking forward to going back very soon.

The most moreish veggie burger I’ve ever had … Lush cauliflower burger in the the lightest burger bun I’ve ever tasted and the halloumi fries were to die for …. More please!!! 😋

Only ever been for a pint and Sunday lunch but tasty and affordable. Cool inside and nice side. The gravy on the Sunday dinner was one of the best I’ve had!

Everything about this gastro pub was great We arrived at 2 ish for Sunday lunch and were told the beef was sold out which IMO was good thing as this means the lunch is popular. My wife had the roast lamb and I had the combo chicken, pork and beef (which was substituted with lamb). Both meals came to £40 which is incredibly cheap for London. The portions were large and very delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would totally recommend to anyone and will return. Special note the music was at a suitable level where could hear it but also talk if you wanted too.

Great roast dinner, one of the best I’ve ever had at a pub, atmosphere is a bit lacking but it was a Sunday and fairly quiet anyway so that could be unfair- it would be nice to have a few more selections of beers on offer and ales but other than that well worth a visit for the roast alone.

The kitchen was overwhelmed and the food that we ordered took long to arrive and wasn't good. Almost no fish in the balls neither calamar in the rings. The service wasn't too kind. Amazing big screen to watch the champions league final.

I came to this pub for a Sunday roast, all the staff are welcoming and respectful, my server Sharnae adjusted to all my needs which was amazing as I felt comfortable to order without hesitation with her. All in all a wonderful setting and great food !

Was served beer that had gone off or the pipes hadn't been cleaned, the beer had such a bad sulphur taste and smell. I was told it was normal.... I had to argue to get the beer replaced. I won't be going back, judging by the recent reviews most other people will be going back either.

🚇 Canonbury 🍺 £5.20 Amstel ❤️ An architecturally unique pub. . Located at the bottom end of Green Lanes amongst the local shops and Turkish restaurants is The Leconfield pub. The nearest station is Canonbury Overground which is ten minute walk away. . The Leconfield Pub was built between 1829 and 1846, known originally as The Royal Oak. The pub was rebuilt in 1926 by Courage in a hybrid Mock Tudor/Art Deco style, you won’t find many pubs in London with this mix of architecture. . The decor here is a mix of the old and new, this is a good size one bar pub with an eclectic mix of decor. Most walls are exposed brickwork which seems to be a regular feature in pubs these days. Opposite the severy is a distinctive fireplace the likes of which I’ve never seen before. The seating is a mix of comfy leather sofas and poser tables which are dotted around the bar. At the rear of the bar is a Fussball table with one of the TV screens showing live sport. . The beer choice was a simple line up of well known keg brands. My beer choice was a pint of Amstel, it was a decent pint with a reasonable price point. The food menu was all about comfort eating, the burgers that left the open kitchen looked great. The Guys at @meartheadlondond had just finished their residency here. . I arrived around 1pm and the pub had a dozen or so punters in. The Man City v Liverpool game was on the box, there were a few fellow Arsenal fans watching eagerly for the result. In the background was a soulful sixties soundtrack creating a relaxing hang out vibe. I noticed one punter who visited the bar twice and asked for a glass of tap water on both occasions and didn’t spend a penny whilst watching the footy, if your going to go the pub and watch the footy or enjoy the facilities at least put your hand in your pocket! . The @leconfieldpub is a very unique boozer with features you won’t find in many boozers across London. The beer and food are good and the environment relaxing. Very delicious curry, I dare say the best I’ve eaten in a long time! They have choices of Sri Lankan meals, sharing bites and still keeping some of the traditional English foods like they used to have. Always friendly staff when I visited. Will be back for food!!!

Incredible food from MeatHead, best burgers in North London, in a friendly local pub.

Popped into The Leconfield for food and drinks with friends and their kids. Everyone really enjoyed it. The burgers, chicken wings, and sides were great. The staff very friendly too. And the rugby was on, bonus. Will visit again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Lieu froid en tout terme, l'ambiance était horrible les deux serveuses étaient perdus, nous étions une table de 10 nous avons mangé en décalé dans des assiettes froides un repas insipide et froid. A fuir dommage le lieu est très sympa.

It's okay. It's just missing something. Almost too bare inside with furniture just here and there. Service and food wasn't great either. But it was okay.

We went for a Sunday roast and my God I will be back. Possibly the best roast potatoes I’ve ever had (don’t tell my Aunt) I want an extra bowl of them next roast. Deeeeeelicious!

The menu from the new head chef has really surprised me - it’s really creative and tasty, a mix of cultures and flavors which goes and in hand with a new great atmosphere of the pub! And if you’re Italian you have to go and try the panzerotti 🤤 be seeing you again very soon!

This place has a really charming relaxed vibe , the staff are attentive the food amazing and reasonably priced. This being my first visit on a Sunday for lunch, I really enjoyed it and will be back to try different foods on the menu.

Had a scrumptious roast last Sunday and I’m going back today! The chicken was perfectly cooked, so flavoursome and juicy. The roasties were lovely and crispy. The Bloody Mary is also an absolute must!

Have just had the most fabulous roast in this place. Totally amazing. Such a shame for them it was so quiet.

Amazing Sunday roast. Great pub just a tad chilly inside if you're an Aussie in London.

So disappointing. We had eaten here before but not for a while so thought we'd go back. Wish we hadn't. Terrible service, cold food (dishes seemed to be left under heat lamps for a very long time). Food tasted as if it was reheated and when served various items were missing. Our mains also came before our starters were finished. Won't be eating here again unless something radically changes. Prices have also increased and I wonder if this is to try and compensate for a decline in customers, rather than fix the issues to encourage people to return.

Went there today as it has become our new local to try the Sunday Roast. First impression was great, looks nice, nice crowd and we were very welcomed despite not having a booking. We ordered the beef and chicken roast and the hoummus trio starter..after ordering I mentioned to the waitress that I am allergic to seafood just in case…she said “I can’t guarantee 100%”.. didn’t offer to speak to the kitchen or offer any kind of alternative or solution…seemed uninterested…I then cancelled my order but my partner had her roast which according to her was delicious…the starter was supposed to come with carrot sticks and breadsticks it came with only with 5 small pieces of bread…I complained they brought us carrot sticks but no breadsticks..I mentioned it and was told “we don’t have it”…no offer of alternative or solution…I had to ask for more bread… The service is appalling, no communication, no checking in…our cold starter took over 45 min to arrive…sadly not a positive or pleasant experience at all…good job to the chef Pedro who manages to somehow pull through as the place is seriously poorly managed…

Very nice pub. We went there on a Monday and the staff were very friendly and food was great. With the fire lit it was perfect for a January evening 😀

Ok pub nothing special food and drinks are standard

We’ve had the fish and chips and fish burger, both excellent. Cooked perfectly and the chips and the perfect crunch. The roast was mostly delicious and fresh. Only major disappointment was that all of us had charred Yorkshires. When this is the essence of a great roast for me, I was very sad!

Possibly the worst roast experience of our lives. Left waiting at the door in confusion on arrival despite booking. The window was wide open in the middle of November leaving the whole place cold. Got moved to a table after they sorted out the reservations, had to ask to take order as we were left waiting for ages. Waitress didn't know the soup of the day, when it did come it was half full, cold and massively over seasoned with black pepper. We ordered an additional starter, sourdough with balsamic and olives which didn't come. After our soup was cleared, we asked where the bread and olives were and then waited another 10 minutes until it arrived, dry with no balsamic as advertised. The mains were even worse. The 'pork belly' was 1 piece of something that resembled a rasher of thick bacon. We were so confused by this, we asked if it was correct, wondering if it had been left off the plate by mistake. The waitress responded saying that they only give one piece out but she'd ask chef for another. Another appeared, slightly wider than the first. The pork literally making up about 5% of the roast dinner. The Vegeratarian Wellington (advertised wrongly on the menu as VG -vegan) was so bad I couldn't finish it. Too salty yet tasteless and just unpleasant. Carrots under cooked, potatoes undercooked, strange bit of cabbage mush. The Yorkie was nice but that's it. Wine tasted very cheap and nasty and cost £30 and to top it off, they had Spanish guitar act playing ireactic, fast paced music very loudly which was stressful to listen to in this environment. No offence to the player. Just a very odd fit for a cosy Sunday afternoon roast. Bill was over £100! Will not be coming back here, EVER

Owner does share service charge among the staff. As customers you are fully entitle to decide to not pay for it. Then.. hygienic conditions are crazy...I worked in the kitchen..trust me. Horrible place.

Ordered a Sunday roast and it didn't come for 45 minutes then when it did it was cold. Asked them to heat it up and it took another 25 minutes. The beef was barely cooked too and was impossible to cut/chew. Pretty bad.

We came here last Sunday for an improtu Sunday Roast at 7.30pm. It was UNREAL! The food was awesome, and so competitively priced. My partner had 50/50 (beef and pork), and I had the veggie option (mushroom wellington). Both meals had all the trimmings, very happy, great staff/service. We will definitely return!

Thought I try out the Sunday to roast. It's not bad. The Yorkshire pudding could improve it was a bit stodgy and not crispy. You can probably tell by the rise of the pudding. The potatoes taste good but could be more crispy. The red cabbage was over vinegary. Broccoli needs to be cooked a tad more perhaps. I am very fussy with my Sunday roast so others may be absolutely fine. The staff is friendly, he did say it was the chef first Sunday roast.

I didn't like my steak - and they didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked so not great service either. And the surf (prawns) were overcooked. And they initially forgot the peas.

Fab Sunday lunch, very cosy pub

Really enjoyed the Sunday roast at the Leconfield pub! Came here with family and the staff were great with the kids, kept making sure all was well and did keep them entertained. Cocktails were strong but I quite liked that. The lamb roast was beautifully cooked with a huge Yorkshire pudding and condiments on the side. A bit pricier than what I would usually pay for a Sunday pub roast but brilliant service and good quality. Also had live musician playing which really complimented the ambience of this place. I went to The Leconfield to try the beef burger, and we had a very satisfying experience. Though at some point we heard a lot of swearing coming from a woman towards the chef, and this completely ruined the atmosphere. Truly a disappointing situation.

Walk to bar, order drinks and carry them back to table but have to pay service!

My partner and I went to eat there last Monday for the 2x1 burger offer. Our burgers were very tasty, Jessica the chef, really took the time to explain us all the ingredients and suggest the best options to choose from. We took a beef burger and the meat was perfectly cooked. We are definitely going to eat there for the Sunday Roast since Jessica told us being very good too!

The lecterns field It’s a beautiful art deco building from the outside it looks like a castle. It’s managed by a Scottish hard-working woman who happens to be a lesbian. She makes every effort to make everyone feel comfortable whether you’re gay straight or transgender. Have an experience of working with her some of the staff are completely incompetent there’s a guy called Tiger who is a complete superstar. If this guy was a bar manager of every restaurant they’ll be multimillionaires. What I love about the owner of this bar is that she makes the effort to buy the best produce and tries to serve as freshly as possible. Stoke Newington Green is a beautiful part of London this bar is often looked over by people but they have the best service fresh food and products I’ve ever come across I should know this because I work with them for two weeks. And I would absolutely recommend it to everyone in the UK for the best burgers amazing cocktails tremendous fish and chips and a new bar menu please please please have a look at this bar it’s fantastic.

The pub is decorated really nicely, the house red wine was awful though. Maybe an old bottle, I swapped to g&ts after.

Pub nice and clean .people friendly and helpful .sunday roast was very well presented and nice . Becareful and watchful of bill .they are putting surcharges on .which if they want people to come in, due to the current climate not a good idear .asked to remove surcharge as there was only 2 of us.they did with no hassle .but beware people and check your bill before paying

Discovered Leconfield as it was the nearest place to where I was staying. Really friendly service especially from Pedro. Steak and Ale pie was exceptional . And served with imaginative vegetables such as broccoli in garlic. In so many places it's just boring boiled veg. Discovered Camden Pale ale too. Delicious. Genuinely surprised at just how good the whole experience was.

Were really looking forward to trying this place as the menu looked great with lots of great veggie options. Sadly though we never received our food, after slow bar service, witnessing a variety of other kitchen issues including foil in someone else’s food we decided to leave as the kitchen apparently didn’t receive our order and then were told us they don’t make veggie pies, though we had clearly ordered them from the menu. Looks great on the inside, but seems like it was a bad day for them.
