We came quite late for lunch so our usual cafe had sold out of sandwiches and we noticed this place. We sat outside and had a couple of their focaccia sandwiches, one chicken and one vegetarian with a cappuccino. The coffee was very good. The sandwiches were nice but could have had more filling. The prices were good for the immediate vicinity of Covent Garden.

Great location right next to Covent Garden - fantastic paninis, a really good selection of gelato and sorbets as well as Italian coffees. Highly recommend for breakfast!

Gelatorino is an absolute gem! The moment I stepped in, I felt like I’d been transported to a quaint café in Italy. Everything I tried from the panini to the pastries and tea was top-quality and full of flavor. The attention to detail, from the presentation to the packaging, was impressive. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing treat or a cute photo moment . Can’t wait to go back.

A charming hidden gem in Covent Garden While wandering through Covent Garden, I stumbled upon Gelatorino — and it turned out to be one of the coziest, most authentic places I’ve visited in London. Their focaccia sandwiches were seriously good: fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. The coffee was rich and smooth, just what I needed after walking around the city. And the pastries? Absolutely worth taking home — especially the soft almond cookies, which tasted just like something a nonna would bake.

We stopped here for hot chocolates before a performance of Lion King down the street. The staff were super friendly. The hot chocolates were brought to our table, and were delicious! Also loved the colour scheme in the cafe! Thank you.

Service awful!!! 3 behind the counter attitude is not bothered if you come in or not. Order something & they leave it on the side for you to guess when it’s ready. Food not that good either it been sat there all day. Whole experience terrible don’t waste your time or money there’s plenty of other places to eat.

The lady at the counter with dark air and pony tail is beyond rude. Totally unqualified to deal with the public. Makes us feel we are asking for favour to be served. Otherwise the sweets are good but the overall experience is disgraceful.

A Sunday Lunch Worth Waiting For! No one has ever anticipated a Sunday lunch more than me! I first met Simonetta, the proprietor of Ida, nearly a year ago while swimming. I’d already heard about the restaurant, and when I discovered Simonetta was also a novelist, I pre-ordered her book Ida at My Table right away. During a long recovery, I read it cover to cover—reliving the story of her family and the restaurant in beautifully descriptive prose. I felt as though I’d already met everyone before even stepping foot inside. Not long after the book launch, I attended a reading with my friend Adam where we finally met the real-life characters. Since then, I’d been dreaming of a meal curated by Simonetta and her husband Avi. Life got in the way, and I also wanted to wait until Adam—who was observing Ramadan—could join. So we held off just a little longer. When we finally arrived, the day couldn’t have been more perfect. Sunlight poured through the large windows, filtering through shelves lined with bottles, casting a warm, inviting glow across the room. It felt immediately comforting. Having a proper chat with Avi and seeing Simonetta in her “castle” was a joy in itself. We were treated like royalty—but it’s clear everyone who walks through those doors receives the same heartfelt hospitality. The food exceeded expectations. Everything—from the antipasti to the handmade pasta—was clearly made with love and care. I had the tagliatelle al ragù, but we shared and tasted all the dishes. The food was rich yet wholesome, flavourful, and deeply satisfying. Each dish felt like something made at home by someone who truly cares. Ida’s whole team are exceptional. Yes, I’m biased. But if you’ve read the book, met the family, or simply appreciate a meal made from the heart, you’ll understand. This wasn’t just lunch. It was a story brought to life.

Lunch with clients here yesterday. Delicious food, and brilliant waitress. The quality is fantastic and the pricing is really reasonable. It was pretty busy when we were there, so it can get a little noisy, but the atmosphere adds to the experience :) Try the Gnudi Fritti!
