The food was good but nothing more. The tablet service works moderately well. It was extremely cold inside the restaurant and it was very unpleasant.

Awesome spot for Korean BBQ! The quality of the beef is amazing, and it’s so fun to cook it yourself at the table. The sides are super tasty, and the staff are really helpful if you’re new to it. A great place for a casual, fun meal!

We found this restaurant in the heart of Chinatown and it's a real gem! The setting is pleasant and the staff are very kind and welcoming. There is very little waiting and the dishes are generous in quantity! Additionally, the prices are not expensive at all. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

The combos have a good selection of variety to taste, the side dishes are good. I recommend the fried chicken, and the drinks are decent. The service was on the slower side, understandable to be on a busy weekend.

They force you to order more food than you want, saying that otherwise they won't serve you the grill, that it is necessary to order one type of meat per person, when it is a restaurant specialized in grill, but they have more things to complement. The lovely waitress.

Had to queue, but did not take long to get a table. Convenient tablet to place orders. Service was very efficient and food was brought out quickly. Meat was fresh and delicious. Would definitely go again!

Genuinely one of the worst Korean bbqs I’ve ever had. Not sure what the hype is about this place but it is totally unauthentic and I felt like it was a massive rip off.

Great place for a date or a group meal! Love the selection of food, the staff are very friendly and polite, service is efficient and the vibe of the whole restaurant is awesome. The glass noodles are obviously a favourite, I always have to order two for the table. Definitely my favourite kbbq spot! The music is a little on the loud side but still a great vibe :)

I have been to Pochawa Grill on several occasions and it is consistently high quality. Everything I’ve tried has been good but if you are new to Korean BBQ then the staff can recommend.

The interior and the atmosphere is pretty authentically Korean, the decor and the vibe was really nice and fun. However, service was none existent which is fine because they don’t have discretionary service charge (although had it been better, I would have put 10% on). The majority of the food was abysmal. The pork belly (not thick cut) was the worst pork dish I’ve ever had in my life. They should be ashamed to have that on their menu, it was as dry as the Sahara desert and there was no fat whatsoever- how disappointing. The beef BBQ dishes were mediocre, LA galbi was okay but the grills weren’t seasoned so quite hard to cook on them. The soondubujjigae (soft tofu stew) was actually quite nice and the none BBQ dishes were okay (steamed egg). But the real loser was the £3 portion of kimchi. How can you charge customers £3 for a tiny pot of kimchi? You can get a kilo of kimchi for £8 at retail cost, so at wholesale rate probably £4 per kilo or less. The size we received was probably about 100g or so, the pieces were so tiny it was hard to grill them. I’m just really disappointed at all these lacklustre, mediocre Korean restaurants that keep popping up that just mimic the K pop/drama culture on the surface so that it attracts people to come just for the vibe/fandom. I can assure everyone reading this review, that the food here is not authentic, it’s not even close to what Korean food is really like. You can probably find recipes online and make it better at home. I am still yearning for a Korean restaurant that will hit that sweet spot (Dopi and Miga are much better than this place).

This place is great, food is great, I come here all the time for authentic food, with this place being my go to for kbbq. HOWEVER, my experience was ruined by this blonde lady, she was dressed different from the normal staff making me think she is in a management position. There was a black hair in my food…. I’m a redhead…. And she looked at me insinuating it is my fault. I don’t understand where has the customer service gone, couldn’t even say I’m sorry, just “do you want another one”. Instead of putting the blame on me for your restaurants mistake, take some accountability. I wasn’t even going to ask for a new dish I just wanted to make you aware that there is hair in the dish and maybe let the kitchen be aware of this mistake. This place is really nice, your staff is really nice but that lady is a dampener on the place. She has a sour face the whole time and when speaking to me couldn’t even apologise or at least speak to me in an apologetic manner, instead it’s my fault for someone’s hair being in the food… and I said sorry to her? I still ended up paying for it, no sorry, not even possibly removing it off the bill after taking the whole plate from our table. Make it make sense. Very disappointed.

Pretty disappointing experience after what I saw on social media. The meat quality was mediocre and another restaurant that frustratingly makes you pay extra for panchan (side dishes) - I swear this only happens in London. Other than a great location in a high traffic area not sure what else is going for them. Been consistently disappointed with Korean bbq since coming to London. Perhaps my bar is too high comparing to LA, NYC and Toronto but there is great meat in London, why is kbbq always so bad here??!! If you’re new to kbbq and you just want to experience the novelty then go ahead but if you have any appreciation for good kbbq this is not your place.

The food here is not good. Chicken is not fresh chicken. Kimchi is not good. It's too sour. It's not authentic. Sweet and chill fried chicken, the sauce is not good. It smells of garlic. Not recommend this one！！！

Food was okay, the drinks felt a bit watered down but overall okay experience. The service was okay, the people seem nice. They have a down stairs karaoke room , was good place to do private karaoke. Music selection was okay.

Pochawa grill is one of my favourite Korean bbq restaurants to goto. The food is great and service is good! Staff have been friendly and helpful and tables having a bell to request for service is very handy. If you enjoy listening to kpop then the music and atmosphere is nice too!

Been here quite a few times and the food is always great! It’s a shame they’ve now introduced a time limit on the tables (1.5hrs). We weren’t notified untill 10 minutes before we had to leave, meaning we had to rush and then couldn’t finish our food and drinks.

Best korean food and restaurant I have ever been too! Well marinated meats and good selection of dishes, I will definitely be returning. Loved the cocktails too. Only issue is I feel like a more variety of meats would be top notch asw but still amazing. There is a long queue on weekends but it's so worth the wait

Food is ok. Really terrible kpop playlist...very much tailored for westerners (Only 3 SM songs and one was even in English 🤡 The boys Eng ver. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ) On a more serious note, it felt like we were rushed to cook fast and eat fast. The staff kept coming to try and cook our meat but there were still lots of food on our plates. So rather than helping it felt more like they were rushing us to finish asap.

The restaurant’s design has an authentic Korean flair, perfectly recreating the atmosphere you’d experience when enjoying BBQ in Korea. The food was good, but the prices in London still manage to shock me—though at this point, it’s no surprise anymore given the city’s high costs. Despite that, the experience remains enjoyable, if you’re craving a genuine Korean BBQ.

Split bill came to 24.05. After showing us the card machine screen to confirm the amount, the server turned the machine away from us. They then must have changed the settings from what they showed us because once they showed me the card machine again for me to pay, it said the amount charged was 24.50. Not even mad haha I respect the hustle for an extra few pennies. Was still strange and interesting to witness, though I don't think the server knew I noticed they manually changed the amount to pay from what we had agreed on five seconds before. Thought it was worth mentioning for others to be aware of, just in case it becomes a hustle for more than just a few pennies. Three stars because: 1) they first seated people who started waiting after us on a table they had assured would be for us (there was a short wait in the evening), 2) it was busy and hard to catch a servers attention, and 3) the japchae was a little too bland.

Had a really nice meal here last night. It was a bit pricy, but the trip was worth it. The food tasted very authentic, and the staff were really friendly. We ordered Japchae, tteokbokki, beef combo, signature combo BBQ set, garlic chicken, sweet and spicy chicken, seafood ramyeon and jeon. One point to note is that we waited for 40 mins for a table of six at around 7pm. Unfortunately, our table was right underneath a loud speaker, making it very difficult for us to have a conversation throughout.

Drink was ok, rice was good, stew was awful. Service was good, decor was nice and the atmosphere was lovely. Did have a time limit to staying, but it was very busy so thats fair enough

The food was fine but the service can be improved. The only person that was serving us was the lone male staff while the indian staff were just chatting and slacking off in the back. I rarely write reviews but the guy looked so tired and we genuinely felt bad for him. Please train your staff properly, it makes the whole establishment look unprofessional.

This place is great for those looking to satisfy their cravings with some authentic Korean bbq! From the aesthetic, the atmosphere, to the food itself, everything in this restaurant is fantastic. They also offer a karaoke service too, which I am yet to try. I would advise coming early or if you can, reserve a table at this place, as it can get packed during busy times. I will definitely be coming back again!

Korean Grill restaurant in Chinatown, Wardour Street, London.

Orders should be placed online using a tablet. However, this only worked to a limited extent. We had to speak to the waitress twice and point out that there was no food or water. Without asking, the lack of individual supplements would not have been noticed. You also only have 1½ hours to eat. In our case, however, the grill was switched off after just an hour, even though we were still preparing the food. The food itself was very tasty.

We ordered kimchi jjighae and the mixed platter bbq (the beef was delicious). We would have liked a bigger lettuce portion. The service was absolutely excellent.

Took my friends here who have never tried korean food and they all enjoyed it. Special thanks to Jihyun who was a star. She was very attentive and kind, she deserves the best. Best of luck.

Would not recommend especially since there are so many great alternatives nearby such as Yori. Long wait, mediocre food, little to no service. KFC was not crispy, not juicy, and more breading than chicken. Pajeon was too thick, mostly flour, and not crispy. BBQ - they don’t help you grill it as is customary in Korean restaurants that look like this. Does not live up to the hype.

Well, if you have not been at some other Korean BBQ before you will enjoy here a lot but if you are Korean BBQ freak you will find little annoying things. But still it is a pleasant experience. Very nice staff and fun atmosphere. I would recommend mushroom platter and beef tongue. Normally beef tongue is served with a lemon based sauce but I didn’t like the source here. BBQ Beef Combo was ok. We also had Ribeye but I think such course is not ideal for BBQ. They were thick. It takes time to cook. One other issue I had was with size of lettuce served the portions. It is not enough which makes you order more extra lettuce. In my opinion either it should be served in bigger portion.

The food was pretty good but I was disappointed in the prices and the service charge which we were not told about. The portion of the corn cheese was so small and in my opinion it should be at least 2 times cheaper because it's literally just cheese and corn. But I know my friend really loved her more expensive choice (about 14£) so I'm giving 2 stars except of 1. Also the toilets are very weird there's no difference in male/female toilets and the middle cabin isn't even a cabin but a toilet with a transparent curtain in front of it. But on the other hand the pink/purple light in the toilet makes you look amazing. Overall it's alright except for the prices

I decided to drop by here a couple nights ago and give it a try as I’ve seen how long the queue can get at times, which is a good sign. I was served by a lovely girl named Xin at one of the window tables. She was very friendly and even recommended us some of the new dishes which were delicious! Although the music is a bit loud and people have to kind of shout to be heard, we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again!

The food was exceptional. Loved the spicy pork with cheese, chicken gyoza and kimchi rice with fried egg. Will be back for more!

Service is really bad. A waitress knocked over a coke, they didn't take a new one and also not removed it from bill. When we told them to remove it, another waitress said they couldn't, because she thought we knocked over the glass by ourselves!

Best BBQ place I've been in London! Managed to get in straight away on the weekend and the staff were all amazing and friendly. Food was delicious and so worth the visit!

The serveurs are so friendly! And the bbq was really good! I wasn’t expecting anything coming in for dinner and was blown away by the crispiness of the kimchi panjeon as well as the meat. I love the no-frills, no fuss approach. Highly recommended and very affordable.

Food was decent, but my experience with the server who was indian (there are no name badges so i couldn’t catch her name) was outrageously rude and it was unexpected because it was out of nowhere, the music was loud so me and my friend couldn’t hear what she was saying so she kept telling us to repeat it, of course we didn’t mind but it was just her tone and she wasn’t polite at all. Zero etiquette, no manners. It felt like she was getting tired and we did not feel welcomed at all, she kept rolling her eyes and glaring. It isn’t my first time here at Pochawa Grill, i have been served by the other staff and we had no problem with them at all! they’re quite trained and knowledgeable, hardworking staff. I was hoping to be served by a chinese girl who served us before and we had no problems with her before- she greeted us from the door but was taken over by the other girl. This experience really ruined it for me, won’t be going back again.

I've had the best Korean food ever here. Highly recommend the sweet and spicy boneless KFC chicken (my fav), bibimbap, kimchi seafood jigae (my fav) and the soybean jigae. All 10/10. They have the perfect spice level that gives enough kick for flavour but not too much to hurt you. The depths and balance of flavours are perfect too. You can keep your bags in the chairs that double as storage containers under the cushion and there is a small bathroom around the corner and down the stairs. A bit tight, but cool vibes. They have excellent kpop song taste too. You won't regret eating here.

The atmosphere at this Korean BBQ restaurant is fantastic. The staff were always very friendly and attentive to our table. We ordered a meat combo that was delicious. The place is very pleasant, though there are few tables, so it's advisable to make a reservation or arrive early during tourist seasons. Overall, it's a great option to experience Korean BBQ.

Visiting during lunch hour and tried their lunch menu for £12 only. You get 3 side dishes. And a main for a variety of choices. Definitely a good deal for lunch.

Horrible restaurant!!! I couldn’t help but notice Chinese girls are being over worked doing everything! Whilst all the Indian staff would just gather and talk. I had talked with her asking if she was overworked she just smiled and said it’s her job to make sure everything is ok and to help other friends working on the same shift. Sweet girl deserves a pay rise. Unfair behaviour from a busy restaurant. The Indian women messed up on my order and proceeded to blame me for not hearing her repeat the order when the music are so LOUD! I proceeded to explain the music were just too loud and I could barely hear my friends and I she then explained it wasn’t her job to lower down the music as it’s a rule. Change your rule so customers can actually enjoy their time in YOUR restaurant. Food was horrible and not tasty at all. Our table decided to give the Chinese girl some tips for her hard working and great customer service but then saw all money taken by the Indian women. I’m in disbelief that this restaurant has overpriced bland disgusting food and cocktails that cost an arm and a leg yet waitresses can’t keep their own tips? Service charges were also hidden at the bottom of my bill which was super sneaky? I had asked to remove the service charge and the short Indian girl huffed and rolled her eyes at me? Then proceed to throw the bill onto the table and demanded I needed to pay the bill that moment because my time was up? I was not informed of any ‘time’ given. Disgusting customer service. TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO BE MORE NICER AND NOT PUT ALL BLAMES ON CUSTOMERS! OR HIRE NEE STAFF THEY DONT WORK EITHER WAY!! AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOOD AND THIEFS!

The waiter who was supposedly new told us that we can get “unlimited refills BUT NOT THE kimchi” for the sides that we get for the set. We hope kimchi on the sides. I asked if we would be charged for it, and she said no. When we got our bill, we were shocked we got charged 3 pounds for EACH of the “refill” we got. I asked about this and said we were informed otherwise. I heard they whispered “she (one of the girls who served us) was not supposed to take orders”. I’m sorry but why was someone not supposed to take orders ADVISING US HOW TO ORDER??? We all know what “refills” mean. I also SPECIFICALLY asked if we would be charged for it. They removed the service fee, but we shouldn’t had paid 8 pounds for the extra we WERE advised as free refills.

Always have a great time here but recently went with my friend who has several allergies and they gave us an allergy menu while we were in the line, then once in and ordering our waitress still made sure to tell us the allergens in everything she gave to us! She was very kind and attentive to our situation, always making sure to double and triple check. The only thing is, something was marked on the menu as having no nuts so my friend ordered it, the waitress was double checking and told us it does in fact have nuts, thank you to her but they should also correct the menu for other people with allergies. All around a great experience as always

I keep coming back here when around Soho. Service is great, very attentive. There’s always place, never had to queue to get in. Only real downside was the pitcher of cocktail we ordered m, didn’t feel like it had any alcohol in it. There’s strong J-Pop and K-Pop music playing, and it’s a great place to come with friends. Oh, and the kimchi fried rice is a great addition to the meal.

Food was ok, definitely not worth the £35+ per person for a little bit of food. Then on top of that adding a gratuity without even asking, too harsh? I'm not sure. Atmosphere was good though.

Paid £27 for 10 pieces of small meat priced at £13.50 each (with a mandatory order of two), what a disappointing experience. The pricing seemed disproportionate for the portions offered. For that price not even kimchi was offered as a side. You only got a small amount of sauce and oil, making the overall value feel unjustified. Service was another letdown. From the moment we entered, there was a palpable sense of being rushed, upon entering without any greeting the waitress told us we only have an hour and half to stay?which was very rude! Throughout the meal, it seemed as though the waitress was eager for us to leave, watching us constantly, always hovering around our table to clear plates immediately after we finished them. Also the highly anticipated Yakult cocktail, priced at £20, arrived watered down without a hint of Soju. We decided against ordering anything else, as it would be a waste of money. 10 pieces of meat, 2 rice, seafood pancake and yakult drink = £72. We had to go somewhere else for dinner afterwards. I think this was one of the most unsatisfying Korean dining experiences we have encountered

Quality of meat for bbq need an improvement. It’s crime to use frozen meat(hotpot meat) for Korean bbq. atmosphere is good, service was great, portion for foods & meat quality needs improvement

We ordered the pork BBQ set, which was a good amount for 2 people. Also, the side sauces were enough to eat. The food and vibe are matching, though the service is very bad. The staff seemed rude and weren't welcomely to customers put me off.

As Korean, I have to say they tried their best regarding interior, cutlery and etc. However quality of food isn't that great...meats are frozen, not fresh. Marinated meats were pretty disappointing...I would rather cook than come here to eat. If you wanna get a feel of how Korean barbecue is like, I think it's worth trying.

The place is always filled with people which promoted us to go and visit. We order the lunch set soy chicken and kimchi rice and also sweet and spicy chicken. We enjoyed the kimchi rice and spicy and sweet chicken but the soy chicken was very dry along with the dry rice as you see with the pictures. We asked the server what could be done about it. She asked if we wanted to cancel but then later came saying they can’t cancel. While I understand there are circumstances like these sometimes but offering a helpful solution would be nice especially when you’re hungry. :/

They do let you know about the time limit, but they don’t let you know when is your last order. I was refused to order more because there was 15min left. We didn’t even finished drinks and food and just kicked us out.

Always a great time! Second time eating at Pochawa Grill and it was still as great as the first time. It is quite expensive for side dishes but overall we were really happy with the food and service of the staff! 10/10. Highly recommend!

I recently dined here, hoping for an authentic Korean experience, but unfortunately, it fell short in many aspects. The restaurant is not run by Koreans, and this was evident in the flavors, which were lackluster and far from genuine Korean cuisine. Additionally, the prices were exorbitant for what was offered. To add to the disappointment, my partner brought a teabag from a work meeting and wanted to use it with some hot water not pre planned because who does that!! Shockingly, the restaurant wanted to charge us £2 just for the hot water after she put it in (so I took it back out), even though we provided the teabag ourselves. This felt like an unnecessary and greedy surcharge. Considering the inflated prices, I would recommend skipping the service charge, as it seems to be reflected in the cost of the dishes already. For example, a single bottle of soju was a staggering £9.90, which is quite unreasonable. Overall, I would not recommend this place if you are looking for authentic and reasonably priced Korean food. Go to Arang which is within walking distance.

2 star because you are just paying for the instagram korea experience!! (for triple the price and half the portion you’d get in korea lol) £80 for two people when we only had 2 starters (really small portion) and 2 meat bbq is ridiculous even in London lol the waitress did nothing for us and still charged us £8 service charge??? Generally in bbq restaurants when the grill gets sticky and burnt the waiter will change the grill for us without us calling them, in this case they did not change the grill… overall you’d actually be less ripped of buying a flight to korea to have a bbq than to come here lol at least the portions will fill you up!

Food is excellent, but I want to give kudos for the staff. I have never experienced such fast service! My gf acidentally dropped chopsticks and she got new ones just in one second. Also when we called waiter, he/she was near table in less than 10 seconds. Top quality service!

I've dined at Pochawa Grill before and always enjoyed their delicious Korean BBQ. However, my recent visit was a shocking disappointment. The food was still fantastic, but it was completely overshadowed by a major issue: mouldy lettuce. Not just a few spots, but visibly moldy. I sent it back, only to receive a replacement bowl with even MORE mould! For a Korean BBQ restaurant where lettuce wraps are an essential part of the experience, this is utterly unacceptable. To make matters worse, the service was equally poor. The restaurant uses a button system to call staff, which is a great idea in theory, but mine didn't work. Despite trying to get attention, I was repeatedly ignored. When I finally addressed management about the moldy lettuce and faulty button, their only offer was to remove the service charge – a measly £6 on a £60 meal. This felt like a dismissive response to a serious health and service issue. I'm extremely disappointed and disgusted by this experience. Pochawa Grill, you've gone from a favorite to a place I can't recommend. Please, train your staff and management better. This kind of negligence is shameful, especially for a restaurant with your reputation.

This restaurant looks very welcoming from the outside and I've been meaning to try it for some time. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. It's more of a "tiktok" themed restaurant. Music was uncomfortably loud and in my opinion inappropriate for a restaurant. We had the beef platter, sweet and spicy chicken wings, veggie dumplings and a pitcher of mojito. Amounted to about 100 pounds for 2 people including a cheeky service charge!! Expensive, tacky and disappointing korean bbq experience.

My daughter is a fan of Korean restaurants, for this restaurant we were disappointed if you take a meat dish you have no accompaniments, in the end the bill is salty and you are still hungry, the waiters come to lower your temperature without explanation, there was an unpleasant blonde waitress not at all professional shame at the price that customers pay for poor service, also better for the end, when I got home I saw on the bill that they took a tip of 6 books without my consent, in short horrible to flee, thieves, and bad atmosphere, 👎👎👎

Visited twice already. Both times provided excellent food and easy going atmosphere. Come prepared to queue, but once seated, great food and fairly fast service. It is walk in only, so expect queues to start just before peak dinner period. On a weekend day, I planned an early dinner with my partner and started queuing at roughly 4:30 to get in for a table for 2 at roughly 5pm. The menu is straight forward but extensive. Offering something to suit everyone from KFC to kbbq. My partner and I love the cocktail pitchers. I recommend the bulgogi and pork belly for kbbq. Though, their lettuce portions for wrapping is meagre for the price. Service is called by a button on the table, if you remember the old Yo! Sushi service call buttons, it is the same. It's convenient, I like it as the atmosphere can be loud.

Food is very delicious, the service when you arrive at the restaurant is exceptional, it makes you feel good, welcomed, the environment is very comforting, you feel at pleasure

The experience was really amazing, I didn't know what a Korean bbq was and how to do it but thanks to Nethmi santhushi, the waitress, who did an amazing work of explanations and customer service, it was easy and tasteful. I greatly recommend
