Good Godfrey's Bar and Lounge in City of London, Westminster

We stayed at the Waldorf and visited Good Godfrey’s three times during our stay. The staff was very friendly and attentive, especially James who made sure we were well taken care of! Thank you James for making our visit extra special!

Spent a lovely, relaxing day catching up with my dad and his partner at the Waldorf Hotel, and it couldn’t have been more enjoyable! The atmosphere was perfect — calm and inviting — exactly what we needed for a laid-back evening. What really made the experience stand out was our barman, a young man called Kyle who brought so much warmth and energy to our table. He was genuinely friendly, full of smiles, and had such a fun personality. Not only that, but he knew the drinks menu inside out and made some great recommendations that we all loved. His professionalism combined with his upbeat nature added that special touch to our visit. Highly recommended

What an amazing stay. Everything was amazing, from check in, to drinks in Good Godfrey’s and the room was spectacular! Ugo was amazing and recommended what cocktails to drink! Brilliant!!

A very pleasant evening and I thank James for being so polite and delivering my drinks and snacks. I often stay in the Waldorf when attending events in London and enjoy the hospitality and atmosphere.

This spot is great for a late night snack. James service was great and fun to deal with. Atmosphere makes you really comfortable

Kyle was an amazing host and helped my family with all of our questions in the bar. He even went above and beyond with helping my mother find a drink she had on another night and was about to pinpoint exactly what she wanted. Can’t thank Kyle enough and very impressed by his combination of professionalism, and excitement for helping to make our night excellent. Will always be coming back to this place thanks to Kyle and the rest of the team.

Gabriel was an amazing waiter who took very good care of us. The teas, hit chocolate and lemon meringue tart were all delicious. Highly recommended!

The bar has an upscale quaint charm with superior service. Gustavo was very personable and genuine. He made us feel at home and comfortable. The attention to detail was on point and not intrusive, a seasoned balance that comes with intelligence.

Waiter, Kyle, was a friendly, energetic and polite young man. We had a lovely glass of Pommery Champagne. Great service in a quiet environment.

Husband and I were there to meet friends from America. Mustafa kindly welcomed us in with a smile. Mustafa went over the drinks menu which was presented on a vinyl! It was the first time seeing this. Didn’t know what to order, everything looked delicious. Grace, from the bar came over to give us help. Grace and Mustafa will be the reason we will return to Godfrey’s and the hotel. So glad we decided to go to this Bar for a drink and something to eat when staying overnight for a show.. Grace was helpful, attentive and personable when looking after us. Food was excellent. and I tried a Bavarian beer whch went down well. After our show in the evening we went back to the Bar for a nightcap. Once again Grace looked after us, took an interest in what we had seen, and took the time to tell us about her career in Hilton. Just wish there were more hotels with a Grace in their Bar! She deserves to be successful as she clearly enjoys her job, and is very good at it.

Enjoyed our nightly night cap at Good Godfrey’s while visiting London. All waiters and bartenders were amazing, especially Jay who gave us a sneak peek at an upcoming drink. Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommended.

Fantastic place to chill out after our matinee theatre visit. It was my wife’s birthday and a cake was presented to her, lovely thought. A few cocktails, and a few beers, and some snacks in lovely surroundings. Thank You, Ugo and the rest of team for our wonderful experience of Good Godfrey’s. Definitely will return.

Beautiful bar, great wine and perfect bar snacks to go with our visit. I would recommend booking a table as it gets busy with preshow drinkers as there is a theatre next door.

Not really impressed, chairs too low for the tables, not a great selection of tonic for the number of gin options, also bar staff seem to have a bit of an attitude. Don’t think we’ll be rushing back during our stay.

Staying at the Waldorf Hilton and sat down at he bar in Good Godfrey's for a nightcap. My wife asks if they have Pinot Grigio and the bartender gives her a snotty look and says "Not that I'm aware of" and walks away. Unbelievable. STAY AWAY!

I booked a table for 1pm as a pre theatre visit, to have drinks, and as a birthday treat for a friend, we also had my daughter and 7 year old grand daughter present. The service as usual was exemplary, we were shown straight away to our table by the window and the adults had cocktails that were not on the menu, which were perfect. They paid attention to my grand daughter and asking her directly what she would like to drink, and basically treated her as 'grown up; she is a very well behaved and polite 7 year old so that might have made a different, but I would expect nothing less. I had noted on the reservation that it was a birthday visit, and they present a chocolate cake on a slate with happy birthday along with 4 spoons, beutifully laid out a present. As much as I would give a perfect review, i do it hesitantly, as I don't want it to get busy, especially when I want to go again. !!! :) Thank you for a wonderful visit

This bar in in the Waldorf hotel. It’s a real nice place to have a drink. It’s not huge and can get crowded. I stayed here for 4 days and only got in once. It’s pretty nice and the bartender was nice.

Came at around 17:30. The doorman was abrupt and unfriendly. The wine list was very limited so we choose a bottle of champagne. I asked the waitress what nibbles will accompany the Champagne, she barked we have ran out of nibbles but you can buy chips. I was bewildered, a bottle of champagne of £115 and no nibbles? Terrible attitude by the waitress. We said no thank you and left. Never to return that is for certain

Decent cocktails but poor on garnish. The pornstar martinis don’t come garnished and had to ask for the Prosecco shot, and at £16 was expensive. The lychee based cocktail; Bus number 9 was very refreshing. My wife wasn’t keen on the champagne cocktail. The food was delicious, my wife had the chicken in brioche roll, which she liked and I really enjoyed my steak sandwich. We used this once before when we went to watch Tina at Aldwych.

Stopped in after taking in a west end show for some tea and not chocolate - all good quality brands, flavour and heat - just hat you need for a winter visit. Service was fast and friendly and a great way to finish our evening.

Luxury feel to the bar - premium drinks, great for people watching with large windows out onto busy Aldwych

We used the bar several times during our hotel stay. It's quite small so guests are forced to overspill into the lobby. Consequently, there are a number of people being served drinks and food from the bar but having to sit in the lobby. It was very noisy in the bar at lunch. A party seemed to be making cocktails and had effectively commandeered the bar for their own use, while driving everyone else out by the sheer noise. It would have been far nicer if the group could have been shepherded into the Wild Monkey Bar next door. Another time in the bar the next table was taken over by a manager who appeared to be holding a meeting in very loud tones. Why the hotel couldn't hold its meetings in a private room without taking over a table in an already small bar which is supposed to be for guests I don't know. Also, while the room service menu is quite extensive with a variety of dishes, the Godfrey Bar only provides 3 main courses: steak, pasta and fish and chips. In addition, when I ordered the fish and chips and requested vinegar, the barman brought balsamic vinegar. Rather unusual choice of vinegar! All in all the bar provides good drinks and has a decent vibe. It has some nice wooden paneling and the service is decent. But it's small and could be improved.

I’m especially fond of hotel bars, and this one is truly a gem. The vibe is relaxed and convivial, which is a welcome respite from the crowds that envelop the theatre district - although I’m told that it can also get quite packed, the nights I visited (once for dinner and twice for later night drinks during my 3 night stay at the Waldorf) were the perfect mix of vibrant and laid back. The food was fine - I had the perfectly serviceable burger the night I had dinner, but would recommend other restaurants in the neighborhood first (it was a jet lag emergency my first night in London!) - but the free bar snacks are a lovely touch and the cocktails are excellent. The staff is the true standout, though. Nearly everyone I’ve met on this trip has been wonderful, but Louis, Sylvia, and Massimiliano are above and beyond! I have 6 more weeks in London (albeit no longer at the Waldorf) and will certainly be back! Highly recommend a drink at Good Godfrey’s if you’re in the area.

As we were slightly early fir evening performance of Tina at Aldwych Theatre (next door) we decided to pop into this hotel bar for a pre-show drink. Nice & quiet (but definitely not empty). Quickly shown a table by a pleasant member of their team. Enjoyable 45mins or so with a chilled glass of wine in a lovely chilled & relaxed atmosphere. Only negative I can think of is that with service chg automatically added to bill we spent £30 on 2 glasses of average wine. I know we’re in London, but is on the expensive side.

My wife and I had a 3 course meal at Good Godfreys (from the Homage restaurant menu) last night. The meal, as expected in the Waldorf, was amazing. The bar and the staff were first class, and made us very welcome. Our waiter, Jason was very attentive and made sure we didn't run out of drinks. We finished a wonderful night with some cocktails. Fabulous surroundings, welcoming staff, great meal, highly recommended.
