The best restaurants in Waveney East of England

Staff have recently been informed that they need to post ‘reviews’ on here to affect the ratings for the Beccles shop. Totally disingenuous and unprofessional to encourage fraudulent reviews. Management should be ashamed/sacked. This outlet has gone unbelievably downhill in the last 6 months: In reply to your response below - perhaps Head Office should be monitoring the WhatsApp Group Chat for this store - you might be surprised. I have screenshots.

Dreadful food. Despite using this place for a few year, our last order took 70 minutes to arrive, was tasteless and very cold.

Coffee ok, toilets smelt like a mens urinal Did mention it when I left and just got shrugged shoulders. Won't be going back

This used to be a great chip shop for me personally, however recent changes with new staff has resulted in a big downgrade in some of their food quality, more specifically their burgers. No longer fried, absolutely tiny and the cheese? Don't even get me started.

Avoid! Lemon chicken disgusting! Very, very old, reheated many times. Batter was nearly black and had separated from the dessicated old chicken inside. Sauce was watery.The ribs were greasy with seriously charred chilli on it. The Kung po beef was greasy, and more like a yellow bean, weird taste. The pork rice, again, old, reheated too many times. The satay sauce the colour of new born poo, with lumps of pineapple in it and tasted weird, no spice. The takeaway was closed on the Tues, ordered at opening on Wed, so food should of been fresh. Was meant to be my birthday treat. Travelled a few miles to get there, read recent reviews, but instead More like a trick than a treat.

The food overall is a bit hit and miss. Three times now I have ordered a pizza with spinach but they have put basil on instead??? I mean I like basil but it is quite overpowering and it’s not what I ordered. Also sometimes it is cheese overload in the pizzas, very off putting. No consistency which lets them down.

We called midweek for fish and chips and was very disappointed. Having been several times in the past year this visit was well below par. The fish was very small. I asked for cod but it was more like a Plaice fillet, very flat. Because of this it was very overcooked. Perhaps I went on a bad day but for what they charge you can’t have bad days. Roll on the day when Mrs T’s reopens next door.

Previously they have missed items off the order, gave them the benefit of the doubt as mistakes are made by all but since then an order was over an hour late... shocking! Improvements are majorly needed. Will not buy again of them- no Chinese is worth being messed around that much!!!

What a great friendly pub we were met with a warm welcome. Food great. The best nut roast i have ever had. My husband enjoyed his food which was Crayfish and Prawn chowder. The pub was spotless and they are very dog friendly providing a dog menu if you want one. Looking forward to going back.

First visit, won’t be our last, friendly and welcoming staff, nice and comfy table for 2 at end of bar, great atmosphere & ambience. Started with pork & game terrain & king prawns bruschetta both were very well presented and enjoyable, we followed this with lambs liver, garlic mash, carrots & I had to have some hand cut chips, BBQ brisket of beef gyro, and even managed a to devour a poached pear dessert, coffee mouse c/w hazelnut brittle. Everything was just right, a very tasty from both of us.l

Bought 2 eccles cakes they tasted nothing like a eccles cakes, The filling had a funny taste and a lack of fruit, they went in the bin.

Great Family Atmosphere, hot kitchen on a late one. FULL Menu, portions massive. Staff exquisite, in particular Hostess with the mostest character. Kirsty. EMMA leaving for higher places. Hayley, s commet all dressed up, Gary another late Tatooine, oh and the guy that rocked up last.. Zero complaints on service.. but recommend kitchen vent cools the caterers better, they are loosing weight ( and they set the fire alarm off in the premier next door, with birthday candles. Wouldnt have gone inn otherwise.. The most fetching, lovely, ever.. family firm. God bless them all. We will return from yorkshire. Apparently Kirsty runs Marathons with a dashound, cost her £1M pounds. Thankyou my play away friends. Thanks for doggy bag foil. Doggy bags to order tmorrow.. Lovely food, lovely wine, charming friendly service, especially when our waitress said "really enjoyed serving you' Right, now a slight whinge - NOT aimed at the Crown alone but at ALL restaurants that add service to the bill, even discretionary. Why are they adding service on the VAT???? Happy to pay service on the net of VAT amount but NOT service on the Tax as well.

Fantastic building very clean and really nice atmosphere with brilliant staff and a great menu. Food was fantastic and plenty of it.
