Why is the woman who owns this so rude over the phone? Just awful. I’ve never known anything like it. I can see from the review responses that she gets a kick out of it too. I feel sorry for her more than anything else. Use Golden House for Chinese in Halesworth! Kind people and better food (and no mistakes, unlike this one) :) Can vouch for them!

Absolutely THE best Chinese I have had in a very long time. Enormous portions, piping hot, so hot I burnt my tongue lol, never been known in a Delivered takeaway. Loads of meat and fresh veggies. Generous amount of sauces with the dishes too. It was all so tasty. Lovely delivery driver, very friendly, and an extremely quick delivery. Thank you soo much, look forward to me next one

Not the best I have had. Had a curry with chips. Chips must have been re heated as they were hard and overly brown. Curry I felt a little sloppy. Will need to look elsewhere unfortunately.

Best Chinese in Halesworth. Better than the other one. Would be great if they took card because it is difficult to get cash late in Halesworth.

Always good and ready on time. I have used them many times and the food is always hot and very nice. Will use again. Staff polite and friendly.

Excellent quality and quantity of food. Good menu choices and quick. Lots of chicken in the Szechuan chicken and good spice level. Side of chips and rice mixed tray. Yum and very full.

Just finished our first Chinese from here in a long time. Can not fault it friendly service ,prompt delivery and great food. Thank you will use again .

First class Chinese takeaway, food was excellent

It's a Chinese takeaway,, the food was as expected, except mine was missed off the order. Since there are two in Halesworth it automatically will be second choice.

Great Chinese- can’t fault the food or prices- just a shame the miserable fella on the phone brings the service down. If you don’t like your job- go elsewhere! Pretty sure they lose a lot of customers because of him! Tip- try the satay chicken- amazing!

Verdict is in. We had crispy shredded beef, bbq spare ribs, house special curry with egg fried rice x2, chicken chow mein, chicken spring rolls. Absolutely delicious, customer service was great, delivery driver was polite and friendly. Hot and fresh when arrived in quick time. Will absolutely order again.

Just had meal for 5 people none of it was what we ordered. So ended up in bin this is worst meal had from there.deffinetly will not be going back

The worst customer service I've ever received, I had to ask if I should wait or come back for my food, I won't be coming back here.

Secound time we have had food poisoning from happy house first time we thought maybe it's just unlucky but last night we had chicken and now both so unwell will be reporting to environmental as this is not OK and should not be able to get away with it!

The food is OK, standard fare but its ironic its called Happy House given the general demeanor of the owner who never makes you feel your custom is appreciated.

Lived in Halesworth for 9 months and have no idea why we haven't had a take away from Happy House!!! First time tonight - delicious food, piping hot, good portion size, not overly priced and a very polite delivery driver aswell!! Absolutely brilliant. This will not be our last time. Thank you.

Usually order all the time from here no problems which is why this is getting a 3 stars, but my order today wasn't the best, there was so much poo inside of my shrimps, it was unbearable, half of the shrimp looked like it had been devained but there was so much in the others.. not good very offputting

Really good. Recently moved to Halesworth and placed our first order with Happy House tonight, very impressed. Glad to have a found a good Chinese so close to the house. Delivery was on time, food was piping hot and portions very generous. Chicken Balls are absolutely lovely. Will be using again and highly recommend.

Absolutely outraged!! We Rang up to make an order for delivery and got the response of “We don’t deliver there”, we responded with “we were told last time you do during the week and we’ve had delivery’s before” to which the RUDE woman responded “I don’t want to f*cking deliver there” and cut off!!!! Take your money elsewhere!!!

Just found this little gem and was not disappointed. Lovely well cooked food. Cash only so be prepared.... Update: There is a Cash machine in the Local Co op Store....

Food is terrible. The oil they used made everything taste bad. Chicken balls went straight in the bin. They were burnt on the outside with mush in the inside. The sweet and sour sauce was black and the curry sauce I can't even describe what that is like. The person that answered on the phone was not happy at all. Barely knew where I had called. Avoid at all costs. Stick to the Golden House. Only tried this place as on Monday as they are shut. Never again!

This is our local Chinese takeaway always delivered warm with a smile from the delivery driver, always have a chat with them and always tip £2-£5 food is always hot and always within the time slot they give us. Nothing is ever overcooked or undercooked always cooked just right. Been ordering food from here since 2017 nowhere better.

Great fresh food will definitely use again

We ordered our food over the phone to be told 45 minute wait, which was absolutely fine with us, for it to arrive within 15-20minutes which was absolutely fantastic. Opened the door to the driver not even handed me our food or even a hello. I was greeted with “I’m here to collect £16” We were excited to get tucked in.. as we started plating up, chips and chicken balls were way over cooked if not looked like it had been reheated. They chicken balls tasted absolutely vile. Chow mien was far too salty. The only thing that was edible was the rice. Will not be ordering again. Rude delivery and awful food.

I cannot believe that in this day and age and especially through this pandemic this business still does not take card payment, there are no banks in halesworth and very little chance of finding a cash machine that works. As a new halesworth resident I was looking forward to trying this takeaway but shall not bother, Beccles and Leiston both have fantastic Chinese that know how to operate in the modern world!!!

Couldn't complain, it is definitely worth buying probably the best chicken balls I've ever had. Highly recommended

Food is good, when they answer the phone.

Delivery made at requested time and food was hot enough but.........food lacked taste, sweet and sour sauce was weak, batter on sweet and sour prawns was far too thick and prawn curry was not a good flavour and again was weak. Would not use again. Disappointing meal.

Great place. Always strive for quality and satisfaction. Even after the driver mistook my house and left. And almost a hour later near closing they not only rush our food but also get it delivered quickly and the food is still as perfect as always.

Good food, staff mostly friendly. Recommend phoning order through then collecting yourself although parking can be difficult

Great food. Rice isn't that good. Use wrong soy sauce which gives it burnt taste

The food is usually good (A couple of times the sweet & sour chicken balls have seemed like they'd been kept warm for a while rather than cooked to order) and the portion sizes are good. One thing to note is that they don't accept card payments, so you'll need to make sure you have cash on you.

Ordered a meal for four adults and two children, mixed bag totalling £53 delivered hot and very very tasty within 30 minutes to the lodge we stayed in, tried another restaurant before happy house who would not deliver. Upshot was we were very pleased and impressed with everything would definitely use again when in the area.

Ordered the chicken hong kong style which was really good. The chicken batter was nice a crispy which was nice. We also ordered pineapple and cashewnut fried rice but instead got some pineapple and rice with peas in it. Which is a shame as the cashewnut rice is quite expensive. Customer service could use a bit of re-training but all in all a good meal.

Good sweet and sour chicken. Bad service with no manners and the cashew rice was missing the cashews. Would not recommend unless you want sweet and sour chicken.

Good food much better than the market place nice people and great service the one to use

Went to this take away for a quick meal to take back to our accommodation. I would say it is just like your standard town/village take away with similar menu, service quality and cooking time as most we frequent.

very bad got wrong order twice second time i got some money back then me and my wife came down with food poisoning very next day been ill as hell 4 days rather use market place golden house never had problems there and always got my order correct and no food poisoning
