New Hong Kong in Waveney

Well I'm gobsmacked how anyone can hike their prices so much. I understand that prices have gone up but crafty as they are they try and bulk out what you order with veg or more sauce and to crown it all the actual containers it is served in are smaller. Seems we are living in rip off Briton

Chips arent even edible, won't be using this shop anymore, keep giving it one more chance but always over cooked and hard

Personally they do the best chicken curry... All there food is very nice. Use them often

Ordered a meal to be delivered, when it arrived we paid in cash plus tip. About 15 minutes later we received a call from The New Hong Kong accusing us of not paying. No matter what we said we were told they were going arrive on our doorstep and demand payment. During the call the amount that we were being accused of not paying was clearly for a different customer. We checked our address with them and they had rung the wrong number. I could hear arguing in the background where the girl said she had rung the right number but we had answered! We had a very lukewarm apology she then hung up on us without taking any responsibility for the mistake when we asked to speak to the owner. They shouldn't leave without payment, give customers receipts and this awful situation would not occur. It was a very unpleasant call, they should be very embarrassed by the way they spoke to us and hanging up on us. Seriously not impressed. Added 26/03/2023 Today the owners came personally to my home address and apologised, bringing with them a large box of chocolates. That shows integrity. I am very impressed.

Yeah I used to eat at new Hong Kong but I will never order again from them I still with their delivery drivers been rude

Normally order from here every week or fortnight and it’s always delicious but for the past 2/3 orders the chicken chow mien has been too oily and chicken too pale white which it’s never like this. The chips taste and look like they have been fried about 3 extra times definitely a massive disappointment

We always find Chinese food expensive as a takeaway, but tbh we always have left overs, very impressed, not greasy at all and the hot and sour soup blew my head off...... in a good way 🙂 loved everything we ordered, came before expected and great customer service 👌

Chips were hard and tasted oily , beef curry had big pieces of mushroom in it , this also tasted strange, never had mushrooms in my curry from my usual Chinese takeaway. Will not use this shop again, just not to my taste.

Ordered food for ten o clock turned up at 10.40 pm o.k but place closed at 10 p.m they phoned and asked if I could have delivery at 10 instead of 9.50 because driver had to have his tea. No apology or anything we both have to be up early for work

Food was average but not hot. Forgot to add items that we where charged for then told us we had to pay for it. Won't be ordering from here again

ordered a meal arrived cold driver took it back.Rang shop explained what had happened said not to replace it and got an apology,was told10% off next order.Three hours later a new order arrived it was then late evening so explained to the delivery lady and declined to pay.Rang to place an order this evening and my custom was declined as i didnt except an order which had been cancelled and arrived three hours later.Not what i expected have used this take away for many years.

Average food but nothing unusual for lowestoft

Food is amazing, we use regularly and have never had a fault, delivered on time and food was still hot highly recommend. All staff and delivery drivers polite and helpful

Very impressed with New Hong Kong used them a few times and always very good, delivery is fast and efficient (to be fair we are within a couple of miles) food yummy! and doesn't disappoint

As far as I'm concerned best Chinese takeaway around well recommended 👍

I've not ordered a Chinese in Lowestoft before, but thought we would have a NYE treat. What a mistake that was! Over £30 worth of tasteless, poor quality food. There was barely any difference between a curry dish, satay dish and another....all tasted of nothing! I actually don't think I've ever had such a poor excuse of a Chinese!! We had a massive long wait with no communication. We expected a wait given the time of year, but to then receive a bag full of rubbish food....very disappointed and feel pretty robbed tbh....could have made something better at home!!

Absolutely disgusting service placed a order at 5.45pm didn't turn up till 7.45pm then the order was wrong 45 minutes later the order was put right so won't order from here again

Won't be eating from here again had the mixed sweet and sour pork / chicken/ prawn balls was all batter the pork ones were all fat the batter was all crispy spent £26 what a waste.

We thought we'd order from new hong kong as last time it was amazing. We ordered two chow meins one chicken one beef and a rice. The rice was ok but the chow meins were cold burnt and dry as a bone. So we rang up and the woman on the phone was very rude and said that they were supposed to be dry (but it didn't say that on the menu) and sent us some more. Which was just as bad even though the woman on the phone said she'd put sauce on it. It was still dry and no sauce,the beef tasted of prawns which make me sick to my stomach. Don't waste your money on this awful place

Chow mein house special propably the best in town. Hot & sour soup rich in ingredients but sweet ish flavour slighly put it me off but in overall very tasty!! 🍜🥘

Over priced rubbish!! Awful meal. Can not describe how bad. The meat was tough and the chicken in yellow bean sauce was just grey chicken with tinned water chestnuts, sauce was non existent. The house chow mein was an embarrassment to Chinese cuisine as the meat was... well I’m not sure what it was! Any way do not waste your money or time on this establishment you will be highly dissatisfied and annoyed as I am!

Awful!! If I could give zero stars as option I would. Never had such a bad Chinese! Grey chicken, tough beef (possibly days old, I thought it was pork crackling at first), no sauce, no vegetables and spent £25!! Will not be returning!

Very friendly, easy to order, food came quickly and was hot and fresh. Delicious all round. The salt and pepper ribs were excellent

Delivery was fast. Some aspects of food were good however I was unaware of some dishes being delivered in gross sauce which was not clearly stated online. The pineapple sauce had the texture of jelly and was nearly unedible.

We were staying in Broadland Sands Caravan Park and thought we'd treat ourselves to Chinese Takeaway. The establishment do not take card payments, only cash which I find amazing in this day and age. They do offer a delivery service and the charge is £1. The food wasn't very good, it was greasy and the portion sizes were poor. I wouldn't recommend this takeaway.

AVOID! Food was absolutely disgusting !!! No egg in the EGG fried rice chicken balls were re heated from yesterday possibly the day before ( not fresh crisp batter ) they were that hard they could not be cut into with a knife. The supposed CHICKEN chow mein had minimal chicken undercooked and freezing cold. Arrived 35 minutes before it was supposed too, could not of possibly been cooked fresh and delivered within 19 minutes !!!!! Not possible at all Absolutely appalled by this meal a complete waste of money. Will no longer have our custom or money.

Very disappointed. Chicken in oyster sauce and a 'happy family' should have lots of flavour. Basic veg content too. Bit of a let down. Delivery was quick though.

Had a takeaway from here we purposely tried to order something authentic rather than the usual deep fried stuff What a disappointment ! It was all totally tasteless !! The only impressive thing about the food was there ability to use so many ingredients and make them all equally tasteless !!! Prawn toast was dreadful totally inedible Spent £30 for 3 of us and didn't even get the advertised free prawn crackers Won't use again ☹️

My Chinese takeaway of choice. Great food, reasonably priced, after years of custom I've not had one complaint.

All the dishes taste amazing only possible improvement would be freebies. We spent £24 but did not receive any extras. Other takeaways offer free prawn crackers, drinks or fortune cookies.
