Golden Palace in Waveney

Tired after a long day at work. Ordered a takeaway, it was delivered quickly and the food was very hot. Very delicious. The best Chinese food I've ever had. The chicken was fresh and not like other places.

Just had. Chicken mushroom fried rice. Very dry. And black beans with peppers. Very dry had to throw it out. Got bag of chips as well they not much better. Won’t be using them again unfortunately. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Food was excellent, and good value of money

Waited an hour and a half for £60 of food to arrive cold. I rang the shop and got offered 20% off my next order. This shop is very hit and miss, when it's good it's up there with the best but it's more bad than good these day...

The King Prawn Balls looked and tasted DELICIOUS!

I ordered a takeaway to be delivered and was told it would be 45 mins, didn’t arrive until 75 mins later, everything was stone cold, I rang to say I wasn’t happy and they just said they would take some money off my next takeaway. I said this wasn’t acceptable so they replied they would collect the cold food and give me a refund but obviously I was without any decent food to eat, told them not to bother and threw it in the bin! I will never use them again!!!!

Not the worst Chinese in the area, but definitely not the best either. Very average all round.

We stopped in Lowestoft on the way home from Southwold and used this takeaway because of the reviews on google,the food we oedered was basically inedible and we threw most of it in the bin,i have never had a takeaway so bad so beware,we ordered two kinds of wings,green peppers in blackbean sauce and chips and fried rice.the choice for vegatarians is awful and I would choose another take away

First visit here. The best chicken curry I've had. Good value, packed full of chicken. Even the included fortune cookie was uplifting. Will definitely return.

Searched trip advisor successfully again. We were staying in Lowestoft and looking for a good Chinese takeaway. This place was excellent, crispy suck, salt and pepper chicken, chow mein all hot, tasty and reasonably priced.

We have always left good reviews about this place but on our last visit we were bittlery disappointed in the food. Everything was dry and just the scrapping in the bain-marie of some dishes. That the staff frantically continued to stir to make it look more appetising!!!!!! Having said that the salt and pepper prawns simply delicious. Staff as polite as ever. The toilets however simply disgusting. The toilet pans stained. The sinks very grimmy. Nothing at all clean. Just not at all acceptable. The new owners need to sort these issues out asap.

Best Chinese takeaway in lowe.(imo) Never had a bad 1 from here yet. Always hot. And staff very friendly. Even do 1/2 portions size if you ask.

Not a choice of giving 1 star took over two hours to get here The ribs tasted of bleach maybe re cooked no meat in the curry we ordered all the food was flat cold stay well clear these people shouldn't be trading.first and last time of using their services be warned

Ordered from Kessingland Beach Holiday Park, luckily they're one of few who actually deliver to the park! The food was very tasty, good prices and a great range on the menu. I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately the delivery did take a long time, even after calling twice after waiting 45+ minutes. However, the delivery people were very polite and professional. Also a fantastic thing is they bring a card machine to you if you'd prefer to pay by card, which is much better than over the phone. Number saved for the future!

Ordered a takeaway, it was cooked to perfection. Even though the phone rang continuously while I waited I waited a reasonable time. Definitely recommend

I have used this take away for many years, but unfortunately it seems to be going somewhat down from how I used to find the food. The chips often taste like they have been cooked more than once and not fresh, the last meal I got from there I was informed would be ready in 20 minutes and in the end took over 1 hour, and it didn't taste like it used too, it seems very distant from its hey day's when everything tasted amazing. On another note they have gone down in the food hygiene rating which is done by the local council, maybe if this improves the standard of the food will? Only time will tell. I'm just gutted that this establishment I have used for the last 25 years has gone down in my opinion 😫

Phoned for collection told 15 mins was close to 40 mins. Got home food was a bit cooler than usual. Portion sizes reduced from previous visits.

Excellent takeaway fish and chips, couldn't be faulted, the small portion of fish and chips for kids is excellent value

I’m not overly adventurous when it comes to Chinese food, but what I have tried from here is always delicious 😋 Its only a 5 minute walk from my friends house so I cannot comment on delivery times etc. We sometimes order & then collect it ourselves within 15 minutes but we’ve also called in on the way past (the smell of the food calls our name!) and the wait is no more than 10 minutes. There is a seating area inside, which due to the popularity can often be full but it’s not an issue with the quick waiting times. The staff are always really friendly and they have no issues in accommodating anyone who could be classed as ‘fussy’ - although I like to describe myself as ‘particular’ 😂

Delicious! Golden palace is now officially my local Chinese takeaway. I wasn't waiting long for the food to be ready and it's fantastic food and variation. Not the cheapest but it has never dissapotinted, worth it!

Used to come her e a few years ago for the gorgeous crispy duck they do . It has not changed - still one of the more authentic Chineses around the town.

I have to say I don't think I've ever had such a bad Chinese meal, everything was brown, the egg fried rice was brown, the chicken chow mien not only was it brown it had PRE COOKED chicken slices in it, yes not freshly stir fried but already cooked chicken, the upside of the chicken was it took the brown look off of the dish but didnt add to the taste. The duck with cashew nuts had about 5 nuts in it and a few bits of chewy rubbery duck, maybe I should have put the duck my bubble bath!! Sweet and sour chicken greasy chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce was very odd!!. Massive portion of prawn crackers (not brown though!) All in all big portions of tasteless food, I'd rather have less food, pay more for it and be given quality not quantity that ends up in the dustbin. Avoid this place, unless you like brown food!!

This used to be our first choice of takeaway for Chinese and we decided to have a meal. Went to order rather than phoning to avoid wait. Service friendly and timely. We did not think food as good as we have had in past. There appeared to be an excess of oil on the things we chose. Even the hoisin sauce we had with duck was oily and the sweet and sour too. Meal was ok but not to the standard we have had in past. Perhaps being a busy sat night was rushed.

Worst Chinese ever totally disgusting. Spam yes Spam in the special fried rice. First time and 100% the last time..... was extremely hungry and couldn't eat it as much as I tried...

I have eaten from here for years. How ever I not had a chinese In some time but thought I would treat my family of 5 tonight. I wish i hasn't botherd .It was so dry no sauce on anything i had to make sauce myself. I even asked for extra sauce on one the meals and even that was dry. and didnt taste nice at all. the curry was the only thing that wasn't dry . This place has gone down hill so much. I won't be going back

I have used the Golden Palace over many years. I have never been disappointed. Recent visitors of mine have been very impressed with the menu and the food quality.

Lowestoft is not short of Chinese take away outlets and at any time it is not unusual to have 15 different restaurant menus in the home. Of late we have been choosing Golden Palace as the service and standard of food is very good

This take away is one of best in the area. Food is very nice and an extensive menu. Service always good and food always ready when promised.

In a town with many such take aways the competition can be fierce. Although nearest to my home I only went back to give it a try following delivery of one of their handouts in the early summer. I was not disappointed and have put the Golden Palace take away menu on the top of my pile of 10 take away menus as first option next time.
