My wife and I took my mum out for Sunday lunch and had a very enjoyable meal. We booked a table via Messenger a few days ahead and they confirmed pretty quickly. We all enjoyed a lamb roast...Mum had the child's option as it is still a good plateful but more suited for her smaller appetite. There was a little wait for the food to arrive (around 45 minutes) and was a good plateful, the only minor niggle was that it wasn't piping hot, more lukewarm, so perhaps it had been standing for a while awaiting service. The deserts were yummy - we all had the cheesecake, which is home-made by the manager...the cheesecake was Gold Bar, and it was amazing...I thought the portion might be too large for mum but she ate the lot and said it was one of the best cheesecakes she had eaten. Overall the meal was very good and the dessert was superb, the only reason for just four stars was the heat of the roast dinner and the slow service today. It was busy in the pub with lots of people in there for the football, but not too many tables were eating so I think the service could have been more attentive. I will keep coming back for the cheesecake though...did I mention it was really good?

Iāve been here for a few afternoon teas and lunches. The food is always lovely and cooked well, the themed afternoon teas are always really fun and a great treat for the local area. However the staff are not very attentive, they give you your food/drinks and leave you! It states unlimited drinks but they donāt ask if you need more, they donāt even check if your food is okay or if you need anything. At one point my friend said āexcuse meā and tried getting the attention of staff at the table next to us and the staff member just walked away, when we finally managed to ask for more tea they huffed like we were an inconvenience. There were also loads of hairs on our food, I think they were blowing around because they just kept appearing, maybe because they allow dogs. Itās a shame because I love the afternoon teas but it has put me off.

We were recommended to visit the Green Dragon pub from a close friend, as we were staying at the campsite in Bungay and only a short walk away. I liked the character of the pub inside, although that was as far as it goes. We had some drinks and food and were pretty let down, after hearing good things. The salt and pepper chips were swimming in grease and were almost indelible. Most of the menu items were unavailable at 5pm (chicken tenders, all the rolls, steak etc). The chicken wings were also of poor quality, containing lots of blackened meat. Although perhaps i am being overly critical it is pub grub after all.. As a whole the staff were fine, especially the young lady at the bar, whose name I didnāt catch. She helped us in sorting a refund, as we were incorrectly charged for some items. To summarise, iād visit again for the character and drink, although i would definitely avoid the food.

Lovely quirky place but the food wasnāt great. We were a party of 6 & all had different meals. I had the lasagne & it was tasteless and whatever mince was in it (which wasnāt much) was cheap & gristly. My son had the ham, egg & chips - cheap ham & overcooked fried egg. The toilet wasnāt very clean & the bin was overflowing with paper towels. We wonāt be going back.

Initially great communication on booking esp as I wasnāt getting confirmation from family. However, all clarified 3 days before we were due. Really quirky place, didnāt know where to look for bits and pieces but loved it. Although being a nurse, I had to hide by eyes from dust, dirt and hair - thankfully tables were clean and kitchen looked clean as well. It is dog friendly, which is great and I did inform them I have a big dog who will curl up in a corner. Arrived with family, staff were out back in the kitchen. Waited a bit to be seated and was shown to a tiny table for 2, next to fire guard with nowhere for my dog to sit. Asked to go the just vacated corner table. Sally (presume, as knew everyone and was cooking and serving) approached us saying āonly booked for 2, advised it was always 3 but happened to be a change in menu chose. This chose benefitted them, financially. I didnt bother arguing, but did check my messages and she had confirmed everything. Anyway, drinks served and then noticed a small sign by the cash till saying ācash onlyā. I was not advised this on booking or anywhere on fb page. This meant I had to borrow my sister cash card and drive 10mins to Tesco to get cash. On return, cold latte awaited with my sister placing saucer over the top. Food came out. We had high tea, freshly made, so much and really delicious. We had to remind them about the sandwiches for myself and my sister as they never came out with everything else. They were attentive and friendly once the food came out. I am in 2 minds whether to go back again as the welcoming and cash incident did affect my opinion. I would have to be consider who I took there as know my mum would not like the cleanliness. However, as said food was amazing.

I was really shocked by the rudeness of the person who served me today. I needed an itemised receipt because I can claim back through the company I work for.Unfortunately an itemised receipt is not available so I asked the lady to write the 2 milkshakes and 2 cakes and the price on the back of the receipt. She snatched the card receipt out of my hand, clearly annoyed at my request and scribbled my order on the back with no price details.

What a smashing little place. Very fresh pastries cakes and snacks with a little bit of different in all of them. Freshly baked by Jakeās mum and God love them all, this place offers over and above what the others have in Southwold. It is quirky, wholesome and if I lived locally, I would say addictive.

The Woodbine Cafe is now an oriental takeaway - sadly the old traditional British restaurant is no more. My wife and I had a takeaway from here recently - the food was pretty decent and prices were comparable to most Chinese takeaways in the area. Delivery took a little longer than expected (around an hour) and they apologised for that. Would consider using them again although there are cheaper options in town.
