Beautiful breakfast well worth 5 stars but Very slow service, tables not cleared away while we were there, a few people came and left because of this. The waitress who was serving could have cleared tables after serving food to customers instead of walking back to the kitchen empty handed! Common sense! We got our food an hour and twenty minutes after ordering!

Me and my partner have had takeaways from here several times and all the time it's been amazing. Its one of the very few places around that is consistent on being amazing and tasty, the staff are all lovely and friendly, I could not fault this place at all. I definitely recommend the breakfast bap, beans even come separately if you prefer! Definitely 5/5

when I asked for my cold coffee to be replaced the young girl brought me a hot coffee and this was very nice, paying the bill was not - they charged for for 2 coffee's @£2.20 - when on the menu it states that they are £1 - she did not tell me that filter coffee was going to cost more - and when I questioned why i had been charged for coffees the older woman whom i persume to be the owner said that i had had 2 coffees and it was not her fault if i had left one to go cold, I explained that i did not realise it was going to take 40 mins before my breakfast came, and always drunk coffee with or after breakfast - she said again i had 2 coffees and it was not her fault that i had let one get cold, so why not ask when to bring the coffees then, and explain that breakfast takes up to 40 mins to prepare - will not be going back - the sausages were dry and the fried bread was so overcooked I could not cut a knife through it - over all i would say that what could have been a nice breakfast was over priced - bacon was over cooked as well as the eggs which were hard. the plate was full off beans to make it look fuller - big scam really greedy people - no customer service skills at all - you need to teach your minions to speak to customers and give them more information asking if they want coffee to start or not and explaining that filter coffee is twice the price!

We regularly visit family in the area and stop here for breakfast on our return journey. Our meals have always been good - the most recent has to be one of the best. I chose the 'small' breakfast - tailored to my taste - swapping the fried bread and beans for extra tomatoes. The sauteed potatoes are legendary! My wife went for poached eggs on toast with extra bacon, perfectly cooked - and shared my mushrooms ! Amazing value and delightful staff.

Nothing fancy, just good basic food prepared to a good standard and at a good value price. Excellent service too. You won’t have to save up to eat here but you will leave well satisfied.

Four of us had an afternoon snack and a cooked breakfast at this cafe during our recent short stay in the area. On both occasions the service was very friendly & welcoming, and the food was very good.

Had breakfast here this weekend which was lovely. Good portions served piping hot. Good quality bacon and sausages which account for the price as normally pay a little less but well worth a few extra quid. Definitely will be back

Three of my friends and I meet monthly but on the third month we have breakfast together. We have tried most of the places in the Lowestoft / Beccles area and this gem of an eatery is number one in all our opinions. The food is cooked to order using first class ingredients and reasonably priced. The service is very good and the staff are very friendly. The venue is clean and larger than the frontage would suggest. If you look in the window and it seems full don't be put off. There are two more rooms inside. We have only had breakfast here so can not comment on the lunch menu, but if cooked to the same quality as the breakfast and served with the same portions size it would be a feast. Well worth a try, we are sure you won't be disappointed.

This is a surprising find. The tearooms are quaint and very country kitchenish, the staff are friendly and helpful, the menu is generous and good value. The service was prompt, and the food, when it came was plentiful, fresh and tasty. Oh and good value too!

Stopped for breakfast on our way to Lowestoft and so glad we did. Myself had a large breakfast and my wife a medium breakfast and what a breakfast it was. If I was to score them out of 100 then the score would be 99.999999999. They were Fantastic! Great produce and attention to detail. If I was to be a little picky then the only thing I would suggest is butter for the toast but hey that’s just me. Myself and my wife have been back now several times and it’s always the same quality, well done to all the staff.

I enjoy coming to this place and do so regularly. Carolyn and her staff are very friendly and you can always expect a warm welcome. Sunday roasts are a favourite of mine, with good quality meat and vegetables. The meat is always juicy, obviously cooked as a large joint, the veg is always al dente, with 6 or 7 different types. And Carolyn's gravy, made with the juices of the meat are delicious. See you again soon. Recommended as a traditional 'British' cafe/restaurant.

The cafe on Wrentham crossroads is always worth a visit. It offers a decent menu and the ingredients used always seem to be of the best quality which makes for a good value meal. The cafe also offers decent coffee.

We stopped for a drink and a snack and it all seemed rather lacklustre. There was nothing special about the café - it was very 'average'. I do normally try to find something positive to say but on this occasion I just found it rather 'dreary'.

Popped in for a breakfast and coffee whilst waiting for the Hensted Arts and Crafts Centre to open just up the road. I had regularly passed this twee little corner cafe en route to the local Horse and Groom pub.Inside its not quite so twee, it's like a tardis with three separate eating spaces with a number of tables in each area.Having ordered the medium breakfast i was thankful i hadn't ordered the large one. Plenty of food, well cooked and good value for money. Pleasant little eatery with polite staff. My coffee choice came with a chocolate filled twill which was a nice little extra that was unexpected. If you want or need to get away from the outside world there's no auto wifi or internet connectivity. As with a lot of the localities in Norfolk and Suffolk it's a black spot.

I pop in here every 3 or 4 weeks on my way back down the A12 and it is consistently good. I always pop in breakfast so can’t comment personally on the lunches but others tell me these are also excellent. I usually go for the medium breakfast that is ample for me. There is also a small and large version for those with bigger or smaller appetites. The food is freshly cooked and nicely presented. The staff are always pleasant. The cafe itself is mad made up of 3 small rooms and in nice weather there is also a small garden at the front. Parking is available in a small car park opposite and there are also a couple of lay-bys near by. If you are looking for a quick breakfast or lunch I recommend this little place.

We visited here last Autumn, being new to the area thought we would give it a try. It seems a little chaotic and rather haphazard inside. Not terribly organised. Having placed our order we sat and waited, for some time! It was ok but nothing outstanding, had to hunt around for the cutlery etc. On the expensive side for what it was. I doubt we will return.

This is a fabulous little cafe, we are a family of 5, 3 adults, 2 children age 10 & 8. We stopped for a breakfast which was brilliant, and at the end of the week on our way back from Southwold we popped in for dinner. Lots of variations on the menu but the ladies are happy to swop things about for the children, the vegetables are nicely cooked and lots of them. But OMG the baked jam roll is to die for ...all home made.

Can't fault it! Friendly service, good food very well cooked and nicely presented. As a vegetarian, it's brilliant to be able to eat a proper brekkie - and to be offered a choice of 2 different types of veggie sausage is, until today, unheard of! Meat eater assures me that sausages and bacon were of good quality too!

We stumbled on this cafe driving from Southwolds to Great Yarmouth on the A12, the place clean and tidy. The food is reasonable price with a tea at a £1. We all had sausage and egg sandwiches, the bread was a nice thick door step and the sausages were tasty and from the local butchers. There is parking across the road from the cafe. If your on the A12 stop off and take a break here. If your sad like me have a little wonder up the road and have a look at the fire station that doesn't look like its change in centuries.

Since it's closure due the owners retirement the cafe situated just off the A12 between Lowestoft and Ipswich had lost a gem. Serving home cooked food from fresh ingredients I visited again the cafe reopened in the last fortnight by Carolyn Grimson.

What an absolute gem! Having several food intolerances including gluten and dairy ( plus others ) it was unusual today the least to find somewhere catering for such people. To discover that ALL their offerings are gluten free, many are vegan or dairy free and are homemade on the premises was a FANTASTIC FIRST!. Although quite small, the cafe is very homely and welcoming and the young lady ‘ front of house ‘ was so friendly and helpful. Her mother who owns the business should be very proud … and perhaps a little more tolerant if tables are not cleaned before customers have left the premises 😉. We shall return and recommend!
