Graze at the White Horse in Waveney

Visited this restaurant with family for a birthday celebration. The menu has classic dishes as well as some that are more experimental. I had the potato torte and it did not disappoint. There were lots of different textures and flavours which I really enjoyed. The dessert was also great and everyone enjoyed their food.

What a place. Very busy subsequently slow service. Watch the chefs cook, lovely experience oh boy can they cook. Wish I lived nearer to use more often . Great meal

Very nice but overcomplicated food. Slightly wobbly service (at one point I paused for breath and the waitress wandered off half way through my order). Recommend sticking with simple items on the menu. Great decor and nice atmosphere

Visited after a work event. Very accommodating with our large pre-booking and some of us (myself included) decided to join late being able to order once we got there. (I know how annoying that can be in hospo - thanks!) Friendly staff and fantastic food

We have eaten here on several occasions over time on our regular visits to Suffolk. The pub is lively and has a good atmosphere. It is a very old and attractive pub with outdoor seating. The food is exceptional and quality never changes. The owner/chef is half Malaysian/English and always has at least one curry on the menu. They are probably the best curries we've ever had in a restaurant. Unless you arrive fairly early they usually sell out fast. All their meals are of a very high standard, beautifully cooked and presented. We believe the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food and the wine list is not too expensive. Staff are lovely, very pleasant and helpful. They cater very well for particular dietary requirements and as a coeliac, require a gluten free and also lactose free meal which they are always able to do. We went back for a lunch before we came home and the salmon Thai curry was amazing. We would thoroughly recommend this place for quality, value and cleanliness. It is always on our list of places to eat when we are in Suffolk.

Burger was incredibly chewy...surely burgers are meant to be easy to eat, not jaw wrenching. Maybe brisket doesn't work...

Stunning outside setting and friendly service.

I visited yesterday with a group of friends, we all had a lovely evening. We were seated in our very own room and the table was laid out lovely! The food was delicious. The owner was absolutely lovely, she came in and asked if everything was okay. Myself and my partner are definitely going to be coming again for our anniversary in a few weeks time!

Very busy and we did not book a table for 2. In hindsight we should have! But they managed to squeeze us in. My self had a fillet steak, and it was cooked to perfection from first bite to last. My partner had one of the new burgers, the sweet and sour power tower. And was praised heavily. Excellent meal. And washed down with delicious cocktails. Highly recommended.

Huge portions, but not well presented or cooked. Fish burnt, Burger pressed and dry, Roast with 12 left over roast potato-halves. Service was attentative and friendly.

We were very disappointed Saturday night, it was busy and had to wait over an hour for our food, when it came it wasn't hot, sent chips back as they were luke warm, bit worried about eating coleslaw as that was warm too:( We have been going there for years, never had a bad meal, I spoke to one of the staff to let them know how we felt about our meals,the response was they were busy and people like to sit and enjoy the wait:( we won't go again:(

We had always rated Graze as one of the best restaurants in the area, but had not visited for just over a year. Oh dear, what a terrible disappointment on our visit this evening. We booked a table for 7.30pm, arrived at 7.15pm & were taken to our table at 7.45pm. Having waited a while, we had to ask a waitress to take our order. We didn’t order starters, just four main courses. We had to wait until 8.50pm before we were finally served our meals. Of the three burger meals, all the chips served were cool, the burgers were cool, the coleslaw was warm. After complaining, the chips were replaced with hot portions. We didn’t complain about the burgers & coleslaw, perhaps we should have done but we were hungry by this time & didn’t want to cause even more delays. After eating, when we complained, all the Manageress could say was they were busy. We had always previously frequented Graze when it was busy as it was a popular venue but we never had to wait such a long time to be served. “Being busy” is no excuse. Having “just one oven” is no excuse. It is overwhelmingly poor management. Needless to say, we will never frequent Graze again.

Lovely atmosphere, great service good portions. Sadly grit in two main courses making it disappointing on the night.

Loved the food, loved sitting outside, service was lovely also.

My mother and I visited on Sunday and were treated to the best roast we have EVER had! The beef was so soft and tender and the Yorkshires were humongous! The staff were so kind we even got an extra one. Beautiful decor and a stunning courtyard. We already can't wait to come back and try their famous burgers. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Wonderful food and extremely friendly staff. I ordered the char sui pork fillet.. definitely one of the nicest meals I've had on the broads. My other half had the Parma ham and chicken ballotine, which he also thoroughly enjoyed. I really not a burger fan but the meals around us all look top notch...I definitely will be re visiting.

We had the best Fish finger sandwich ever at Graze it was proper fish fillet x3 in the most amazing home made batter it was encased in very thick bread served with a bowl Of delicious salad and a bowl of crisps we enjoyed it sitting in the beautiful garden service was brilliant and very reasonable prices for such good quality food I couldn’t recommend it enough we shall certainly make a return visit next time we’re in Beccles the restaurant inside looked very inviting

We stop off here whenever we are in the area. Fantastic food at good prices. Service and staff are always pleasant and attentive. The chef is clearly proud of the menu and ensure this shows with the presentation. Really worth a visit.

A belated review, but one I felt I had to write. Holidaying in the area , we were looking for a place to eat on Beccles after spending an afternoon on the river. Chose Graze because of TripAdvisor reviews but wasn’t sure what to expect. Buzzing atmosphere and full of a mix of locals and visitors which added to the atmosphere. All family members who opted for burgers agreed they were fantastic. I opted for mullet with mussels and saffron potatoes. Absolutely delicious. My Negroni was perfectly made and ranks up there with one of the best I have tasted (and I have tried a few!). Brilliant experience made even better by genuinely lovely , kind and attentive staff. Thank you! Highly recommend to anyone lucky enough to live close by or visiting the area.

Food is good, service excellent, friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is vibrant. We had Trout and red Mullet, was good. Jamaican Crazy burger was dry and didn't meet our expectations. On a whole, I would return for other dishes. Great vibe.

We ventured here on the last night of our holiday, we recommend this pub/restaurant. The chicken honey glaze burger was delicious. The cocktails were A1 and the garden is a lovely space to relax in. Attentive staff all round. They also kindly warmed up some food for our baby. Big thumbs up👍

Great night, the staff are attentive, and we always enjoy the food at Graze. It has a lovely seating area at the back; a small oasis and love the decor in the restaurant. I recommend trying this place.

If you are looking for a quiet drink with some light bites look elsewhere. Food is only available if you have pre booked! Staff in the main pub area not very polite or helpful. We sat outside the table had not been cleaned for some hours and generally very untidy. The outside bar worked okay and the barman was doing his best. We have family in Beccles and visit frequently but won’t be returning here in a hurry. Ended up in spoons!

Met friends here for Saturday lunch and we weren’t disappointed. Great service, food and nice ambiance. Only four stars overall as I thought the prices were a little high for the location. My pork burger was very tasty.

The quality of the food was amazing! I made a mistake with the booking but we were really greatful to glenda for fitting us in, she’s fab. Would recommend a cocktail in the garden after dinner. We’ll definitely be back for the burgers next time!

Lovely spot in centre of Beccles with really attractive gardens. perfect for summer drink. Prices good too. Only thing that spoilt it for us (yes we aren't young but we are into modern music) was the very loud electro/garage/club vibe music for early evening. If it was meant to be a warm up for an Ibiza relived night or pre drinks before going clubbing (in Beccles lol!!) you might get it but something more chilled like Cafe del Mar or smooth jazz would suit the vibe a lot better in our opinion. Will be back though as menu looked tasty.

Wow…. We arrived by boat. A quick Google search brought up this place so we booked for 4. The service was good. But the food. Oh the food. We had 2 varieties of burgers. Amazing. Probably up there with some of the best ever eaten. We also had a Sea Bass and a sea trout dish. Again cooked to perfection. Brilliant. Thanks guys.

Down on holiday popped in on the off chance of getting a table had to wait 30 minutes but it was well worth the wait food was fab all 4 of us enjoyed the meals enjoyed so much we booked to go back a second time and wasn't disappointed tried the the home made burgers wow they were superb Well done Graze

So glad they squeezed us in as they were almost fully booked at 6pm on a random Thursday. Reason is the food is great! We only had time for one course before a show but I wish we could have stayed for dessert. Lovely food and lovely staff. They do have a fake front door to fool you - only the side door actually opens. We’d love to go back but you should probably book. Six out of five stars.

I often come here with the love of my life Michael ling, Steve and his beautiful wife is really lovely. The food is 10 out of 10. The service is always perfect, The cocktails are the best for Miles, They even do offers and happy hours, And I would say it’s the best fine dining in Beccles….. So if you’re not from the area, definitely check it out if you want the best place to go.

Wow, popped in here tonight on the off chance as we were staying in beccles for the night. Absolutely unreal, had the taco to start, and the hog burger and the wok burger for mains. Me and my girlfriend agreed they were two of the best burgers we'd ever had. The taco was amazing too. Had two great cocktails to wash it down. Can not fault it at all. If ever we're back in Beccles, would not hesitate to come back!

HUGE delicious gourmet burgers. Edit after my most recent visit: I’d been to Graze a few times before this occasion and had always been wowed by the food and service, as well as their cocktails. I hate to make bad reviews, genuinely. So this isn’t one - but take the information as you will. Me and my partner went to graze on Tuesday night for a romantic meal, all started off well and I had a delicious espresso martini. However when my boyfriend’s drink arrived we noticed that there were ants floating in the top. Multiple visible ants. As seen in the photo below. Me and my boyfriend aren’t the type to make a scene and complain passionately in a restaurant, we love to support local businesses and don’t want to shame anyone. We called over the waitress and she handled the situation with grace and apologised thoroughly. She made another drink and removed it from our bill. The rest of the food we had was absolutely outstanding, the hummus and flatbread was perfection and so were our burgers. It’s hard to make a judgement because I really do love Graze, but I think it’s a fair assumption that they aren’t keeping the hygiene behind the bar to a good standard. I can only imagine that the ants in the drink were caused by ants getting into their lemons. I understand, but I don’t know how the drink with ants in even made it to our table when they were so visible 🤷‍♀️. Left with full stomachs and happy taste buds but feeling conflicted.

Fabulous food and attentive service in a revamped pub. Beef roast was melt in the mouth. We went for an early lunch so was fairly quiet and building itself lends to it being quite dark inside. Definitely on my list to visit again. Book early as is understandably very popular!

Myself and my partner come here regularly (it’s one of our most favourite restaurants) tonight I had their new burger “Bombay bad boy” which was without doubt the best burger I’ve ever had in my life! The flavours were insane and all complimented one another beautifully, the chef who created this burger, Todd, definitely out did himself with this one! So shout out to Todd! We are already buzzing for our next date night at Graze, couldn’t recommend it enough - the vibe is great, the staff are lovely and most of all the food is always DELICIOUS!

Cannot fault the food it was delicious but was let down straight away, We got seated in a tiny corner right next to another table when we could of been put somewhere else as it was so empty and most of all that there was a dog underneath their table when im allergic to dogs! On website states dogs only in bar n gardens and we was in the main restaurant! Also one the chairs we had was broken through the seat and they kept moving it around other tables each time the next person complained! It should of just been replaced as its dangerous, luckily i didnt sit on it being heavily pregnant! Was our first visit aswell, wouldnt return in a hurry which is a shame.

Sadly this venue needs to get there menu sorted too many combinations of food that really do not go together well , faggot and venison what a combo it was not nice at all undercooked parsnips also , my food wasn’t fantastic either greasy fish and peas and capers , keep it simple your trying to hard .

This used to be fabulous, but unfortunately, the food is not as good as it used to be. The staff are lovely though, and cocktails are good.

The fish was overcooked the batter tasted burnt. The bathroom was upstairs, hard to get to and no way to dry your hands.. hard to open a round door nob with wet hands! Food portions are very small for the money, and parking is hard to find.. shame really, the staff were nice and friendly.. but the food wasn’t great,

We had a fabulous night for my dad’s birthday. They managed to squeeze us in early on a busy evening, we were so grateful and even more so when we tasted their amazing food. Every course was delicious, we were so impressed. Service was utterly faultless. We are new to the area so are over the moon to have such good food locally. We can’t wait to return. We booked the upstairs room at Graze for a family engagement meal. Jo was brilliant to communicate with prior to the event and had laid the room out beautifully for us. All 19 of us enjoyed our meals, the food was absolutely lovely, most of us had the Roasts, Burgers, and Yellow Thai Curries - really high standard of presentation and the food was fresh and delicious. The staff were lovely and checked regularly on us to see if we needed drinks. We couldnt fault the service at all, we had a lovely memorable time, made all the better by friendly Jo.

The Graze @ The White Horse had a cool vibe / atmosphere. The menu is spectacular with so many burger options to decide from. The meal was amazing, so tasty & would highly recommend. They also do cocktails & desserts but this time was full from the sizeable meal. It’s certainly reasonably priced, great customer service from the owners & made to feel extremely welcome! Will definitely go back in future!

Visited for my husband’s birthday, on Graze’s first day of reopening after the Christmas break, so got to try the new menu. All I can say is AMAZING 🤩. Our food was divine and the service was spot on. I only hope the dog didn’t starve as there wasn’t much left from our plates 😅. Looking forward to our next visit already.

We both had versions of the yellow curry which was superb. We also ordered starters, both these and the main course arrived fairly quickly. Can’t fault the food or the service.

Last year my Christmas meal here was divine. This year it was just OK. If you're a vegetarian expect much smaller meals than your meat eating friends will get. My friends and I had an item missing from our dish which was eventually served up as a side. If the staff hadn't tried to convince us it was actually IN the dish, which clearly it wasn't, we wouldn't have minded so much. Overall - nice flavours, but inconsistent construction of the dishes. If you eat meat you'll probably enjoy it, if not, look elsewhere until things improve.

Busy place. A couple of our meals were swimming in oil. The wrong dessert was presented and another dessert wasn't served at all. One waiter was reaching across in front of people serving the person next to them. Not impressed at all. The standard of food and it's presentation lacked taste and finesse. For the prices being asked, it's frankly a rip off.

Food very good and plentiful. Marked down one star only because one of our party had a fish dish which was a bit bland and another wished that they could have been offered an alternative to sprouts. Service was efficient and unobtrusive. There was some thumpy music in the background which was slightly annoying. Just a note, it's an old building and access isn't the best if you have a mobility issue. Overall a very pleasant experience though.

A really varied menu that meant choosing was a challenge! But very helpful serving staff - who were attentive without being overbearing - guided us and we enjoyed two first class meals. Beautifully cooked and presented, a really enjoyable experience which comes highly recommended.
