Bigod's Kitchen in Waveney

I was really shocked by the rudeness of the person who served me today. I needed an itemised receipt because I can claim back through the company I work for.Unfortunately an itemised receipt is not available so I asked the lady to write the 2 milkshakes and 2 cakes and the price on the back of the receipt. She snatched the card receipt out of my hand, clearly annoyed at my request and scribbled my order on the back with no price details.

It was pouring with rain, and we popped in for lunch, and couldn't have received a warmer welcome! Such a lovely, friendly, helpful lady! I had loaded fries with kimchi and tofu,and an oat milk latte - both really yummy! Mum had a chicken and bacon toastie and a huge hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, which she enjoyed. Plus, they have a disabled loo, which was great news for mum! Thoroughly recommend! Thank you 😊

My husband and I were looking for a cafe in Bungay to have a cooked breakfast, and we came upon this lovely cafe. We were the first customers of the day. The staff were very welcoming. I had a large vegetarian breakfast, and my husband had a large normal ( meat ) breakfast. To be honest, I would say that this is one of the best vegetarian breakfasts I have had.

This is My second time of coming here and without a doubt its by far the best breakfast I have had from in and around beccles/bungay. That cakes are absolutely delicious aswell. Top service from the staff highly recommend this place if you haven't been before, if you have been here you certainly will be returning ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I always love coming in, they make me feel welcome, like a friend or family member. Staff is friendly and down to earth. Food is generous and tasty. Love this as my local cafe. Would come here every day if I could xox

Hidden away but super cosy and welcoming vibes. Tasty, well presented food. Friendly staff and very attentive. Best chai latte I’ve had! I love the decor and cute little outdoor seating area too! Will definitely go back here to try different dishes. Thank you very much

Warm welcome from friendly staff and great service. Friend had pancakes and thought they were very good.I had potato cakes with eggs - best I’ve had. Lovely atmosphere- other customers friendly and lots of laughter. Outside seating options were popular even in cool weather as covered. Toilets basic but very clean. Looking forward to going back!

Wonderful burgers and chips. Soy, almond and oat milk available. Great service. All cooked fresh so a slight wait for food but not unduly so.

What an amazing find! We stumbled across this quirky restaurant/cafe whilst out on a bike ride. We only wanted coffee but looking at the menu it seems they cater really well for most tastes including those who opt for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free meals. We asked if we could just have a portion of chips as we were not really intending to eat but they looked so tempting. They didn't disappoint! The cappuccinos we had were large, tasty, nice and warm and served by a cheery lady who made us feel really comfortable. We had the choice to sit inside, outside undercover or out in the open. Everything looked spotlessly clean and the meals being served to others looked plentiful and well presented. The prices are really reasonable too. We will definitely return when we are in the area. Found just by chance, while walking past the castle. Dithered about going in but glad we did. Had a lovely plate of salad, chips, coleslaw and toasted cheese and ham sandwich and 2 lattes. Very reasonable. I think we would drive over again when staying in Southwold for a lunch here. Not too impressed with Bungay itself but would come here to eat. Very nice people working here and it is a sweet little place. Colourful.

Went to Bigod’s for the first time since moving to Bungay. I took my three grandchildren there for breakfast. There wasn’t a long wait for our food and drinks, and the table waiter was very polite. The kids had waffles with maple syrup and bacon, with a hot chocolate and they absolutely loved it. I had a sausage bap which was really tasty and filling. Will certainly be visiting there again….

Ordered chicken burger and chips and salad. Burger had this awful coating on it and the small plate was 3/4 salad. Just ate the chips after having 2 bites of burger! Hubby had burger with loaded chips. Well it wasn’t a burger but minced up meat,which I think was quoin not real beef,all mushed into the cheesy chips. Two teas and it was £25! Will never go back. I think the management must be vegetarian as lots of things were geared to veggies.

We went through this cafe to visit castle and decided to have a bite here. We sat outside under the awning and had a very filling and excellant lunch. We had a sandwich and a wrap which comes with chips salad and coleslaw. If your not eating loads then maybe choose something lighter. The price is very reasonable.

We arrived early lunchtime and there was one table ahead of us. Food took over half an hour to arrive, even though it was pretty straightforward stuff.

My hubby and I decided to come here for lunch today and hadn’t eaten here since it was Jesters. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and ate inside as it was too hot outside, I ordered the ploughman’s salad and my hubby had the tuna and cheese toasty with salad and fries which were both amazing and tasted fantastic. The staff were so lovely and down to earth, nothing was too much trouble for them. We really enjoyed dining here today for lunch and will definitely be back soon and will bring our 14 year old son with us too.

I went to view the remains of Bungay castle, the entrance to which is via the cafe. I am glad I went on both accounts. We had a delicious cake each, ['Banoffee' and 'Jamaica ginger'] and most flavoursome coffee. We had a friendly welcome in a warm and inviting setting. This cafe is well worth a visit.

Breakfast egg and bacon sandwich and waffle bacon and maple syrup absolutely delicious good service. Very good Americano too. Well worth a visit.

Well thought out menu, great food, friendly staff and plenty of options for veggies/vegans. Portions are large, so make sure you're hungry!

Been here a few times since moving to the area and always fantastic food,breakfast really good and some of the best service I have received for some time. You won’t be disappointed!!! A real asset to Bungay 👍

This little place was a wonderful find. The meals were inventive, fresh and beautifully tasty. The service was friendly too. I cant fault it at all so we will definatly be back!

Wow just called in for a light snack and was amazed by the quality of food. Great service. A rare little gem and well worth a visit, would highly recommend.

Pizza topping on chips was a massive hit, as was the burger with beef and pork - exceptionally tasty! Lovely service too!

We stopped in Bungay and had lunch in Bigod's Kitchen next to The Castle and had a delicious lunch. My husband had the Burrito Bowl and I had a bacon and brie toasted sandwich - we tasted each others and they were both just yummy....

What a lovely place to come and eat. The food was delicious, I had the pizza on chips and it was really good, and plenty of it too. The staff were really friendly and very pleasant. Very reasonably priced and will definitely be coming back....

I visited this Cafe a couple of months back and coming again next week the Halloumi Salad is amazing not mean with the cheese, if you are a veggie or vegan it fabulous great service too. Love it about time Bungay got a decent place...

Family lunch for 5, food to suit all tastes, we had a toastie, pizza topped chips, Bigod Burger and Bengal burger (a must have) plus a salad, the chips and halloumi fries were delicious too and all very reasonably priced obviously couldn't eat inside but...

We are always greeted with a very friendly welcome and never too much trouble to provide us with what ever we order. The food is delicious and freshly cooked to order with generous portions and scones and cakes are an excellent choice with great selection....

We have been here twice in recent weeks for main meals and this will now be our a regular weekend destination for lunch. Food is freshly cooked, full of flavour and reasonably priced. The take-out sausage rolls are also well worth a try.
