Favourite Grill is the BEST kebab in Essex, Hands down. I've tried all the kebab shops around Clacotn and Frinton and none of them come close. I've never had a bad experience and the service is swift, clean and welcoming. Defo give them a whirl and you'll fall in love with them too

We visited prior to booking to check that the menu was suitable for our dietary needs and tastes. As it is a busy holiday area and the weather was good we made a reservation for Friday 26th July. On arrival we were taken aback that the restaurant area was not set up. Just tables in disarray on a filthy dirty carpet. The bar server was pleasant and swiftly got our drinks. After that everything went downhill. We ordered Lamb chops but were told they were out of stock. Therefore the second choice of mixed grill was also not available.we then tried Chicken and Leek pie - none. In exasperation we said OK Fish and Chips - sorry none! How can a pub with food not have stock of basics at the start of probably one of the weekends that would be the busiest, especially as we had booked? We asked twice for the manager "Kim" to come and talk to us and said we were prepared to wait but twice she refused. Absolutely disgraceful way to treat customers and terrible to leave her staff to deal with her inadequacy. Never ever will we go again.

Lovely food and servers Tina and Andrew are amazing, always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely be a regular visitor. Great place to eat, lovely atmosphere too and right by the beach so you can also sit outside and enjoy the weather.

The lock and Barrel is very spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly and made me feel welcome. I was given sliced bread with a dish of balsamic vinegar and oil, complimentary before I had dinner. Delicious. I had a cheese burger, chips and peas. Very nice. The tables were cleared and we were offered coffee and deserts. I will definitely return.

The staff there were all amazing! Special shoutout to Becca, very helpful and happy, thankyou again. Lovely food also served with a smile.

I checked the scores on the doors website after eating here and saw that it scored ZERO. Not surprised. Miserable staff, rubbish food. Feels grubby. I shudder to think how any establishment gets 0 out of 5 for food hygiene. Don't go there. This place needs a complete overhaul or to disappear. Another empty lot would be better than Fred's remaining open.

Got to be the worst toasted ciabatta sandwich I have ever had. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!! Supposed to be Brie bacon and cranberry. A smear of Brie and some fatty badly cooked bacon. Was totally dry and the salad on the side had no dressing and wasn’t worth the bother. Didn’t complain as the staff all looked about 12

Garlic and cheese had no garlic taste at all. The doner was OK. Got over charged but when I asked for receipt I got the £1 back. Busy place seems well organised, There were other customers had issues with things missing from there order.

Had my annual 23rd Dec buffet four yrs this year for remembrance for my late wife a day for family friends to be happy but when there was told we could not have function room as it was being held for a wake. We were segagrated and I'd paid deposit four months earlier paid in full the £300 There was enough for just a few and very basic not like yrs before total disgrace and disrespect. 1st 3 pictures are last year next 3 this year

Took my family out for a treat last night, one pizza base was perfect the other one was a bit wrinkly on the sides maybe a tad under cooked did not enjoy it. Loved the cheesy triangles and chips, won’t be returning as the cost was enough plus why can’t we use cash.

I always take my Nan here on a weekend when I visit her. She is in a care home just up the road with severe dementia and this is the only place I feel safe taking my Nan, as I know everyone is so lovely and understand the situation. They are patient whilst she decides what she'd like, friendly with her and chatty when she is in the mood and so so kind. It is the only place I will go now for lunch with Nan, I cannot thank the team here enough, incredible food, great value for money and the best customer service I've experienced I can honestly say. Thank You all so much x
