We like to support local business however we will never return to Fred's Cafe. Firstly, the staff looked downright depressed, lack interpersonal skills, look unkempt dressesed in fleeces, stained pants & lack motivation to entice customers to return. Table was dirty, the waitress eventually cleared the previous customers dishes, it wasn't busy only other two customers apart from us! The floor was also dirty. How difficult is it to make a cheese & onion omlette - OMG mine arrived absoulutey burnt, I cut it up there was some evidence of cheese but it wasn't edible. I mentioned this when my partner was paying the bill but she refused to deduct the cost of this chard rubber like excuse for an omlette. I suggest the proprietor should review his/her business unless they want to become another statistic when their business closses due to lack of hygiene & inedible food. Avoid at all costs

My experience here was quite disappointing. It took an unusually long time just to get my order taken, and when it finally arrived, it was wrong. I paid ÂŁ7.95 for a wrap, only to have the wrong item (Ciabatta) unceremoniously plopped on the table by a waitress who simply stomped off. I donât enjoy leaving negative feedback, but in this case, I feel itâs well justified due to the poor service I encountered from start to finish. Sadly, these issues arenât unique to my visit; they seem to reflect the experiences of many other reviewers.

Donât take card, either theyâre on the fiddle or want their business to fail, who doesnât accept card payments in 2024 ?? Rude staff⊠The chap who seemed to be either the manager or at least senior enough, verbally confronted me across the premises when I said jokingly Iâd have a word with the Pier management about the Chip shop not accepting card payments - he said âWhat are they gonna do?â Obviously this chap had not had the best day that day, or, he doesnât have a great working relationship with the Pier management. Anyhow, his loss, thereâs other places to buy chips in Clacton. I wonât be spending my cash there again.

I always take my Nan here on a weekend when I visit her. She is in a care home just up the road with severe dementia and this is the only place I feel safe taking my Nan, as I know everyone is so lovely and understand the situation. They are patient whilst she decides what she'd like, friendly with her and chatty when she is in the mood and so so kind. It is the only place I will go now for lunch with Nan, I cannot thank the team here enough, incredible food, great value for money and the best customer service I've experienced I can honestly say. Thank You all so much x

Went to Pizza hut with friends. Have to say disappointed, got seated by someone in jeans and t shirt who looked like a guest, with no introduction of who he was. He mumbled something about drinks machine not working and to order at the table. We ordered the buffet on the app, it gave us the option of leaving a tip. But we chose not to just for someone to bring over glasses for us. We had to wait for pizzas to be bought out. They hadn't cooked enough for the amount of people in the restaurant. The salad bar wasn't topped up and it was 12.15 when we got there. The Nachos were stale. Very disappointed indeed. Think we'll give it a miss next time.

Lovely location, lovely décor, nice to sit out overlooking beach. Food and drink were very nice but the food was a little overpriced. Tuna sandwich was very expensive and looked very bland and small - all that was needed to make the price seem ok would have been a few crisps or side salad on the plate. Little things like this would cost pennies but make the difference in presentation and make the price feel worth it.

Just popped in after getting soaked. Danny was great and enjoyed the music too. Nice to pop in for a drink and bite to eat at any time

This is normally my all time favourite. Tonight was awful. chow mein shrimp had absolutely no flavour of and had tons of noodles in đ€ . Sweet and sour veg tasted the same as the chow mein đ€·. They were both not pleasant at all. Delivery time was good . Delivery driver very friendly. I don't think I will bother again as the food was wwwaaay bellow normal standard.

The staff where friendly enough and customer focused. HOWEVER, the duty manager was completely rude and not customer focused. She is the type of person that stops me wanting to part with my money. It was suppose to be a treat fore and my mum, which was ruined by her. The tables were filled with dirty trays, she also didn't put any day dots on the the cakes she got out and was picking cutlery up with her hands touching the parts that you put into your mouth. Since she's been working there the atmosphere is marred. I would rather sit in a dirty pigsty. The pigs would be more friendly. Hurry up and open Starbucks (even though it's not my go to coffee outlet) Change your attitude, if not change your sour face. Perhaps customer facing roles are not for you.
