Subway in Tendring

I order from here often as my son likes the chicken wraps, very clean & food is always fresh & hot, staff are lovely very cheerful & always happy to help

6 weeks ago I lost my Mum. Dad took me in here for a light meal on that day coming from the Hospital after being with her right to the last. We couldn't each much. What we had was delicious! All star chicken footlong. Dad had a beef footlong. I personally like something with a spicey bite to it. This fitted the bill. When the team found out why we were there, they were really supportive and really tried to help. We've been there now 3 times I think, the place is clean, the staff still look out for us and we can relax. Tonight I had the Bombay footlong with my favourite Mango sauce in it as well. Dad was pleased with his one as well! We both said at the same. "That was the ticket!" Thank you!

Ordered the saver sub today. Cheese and ham with cookie and drink, cookie was stale and drink was flat, had to clean table myself and my friend complained they started talking to each other in thier own language. Said we had to pay for the replacement drinks!! Will NEVER go back to this store again!!

I waited nearly an hour for just one sub and a salad. The sub was supposed to be toasted but arrived cold and unappealing. To top it off, the "footlong" was only 10.5 inches instead of the full 12 inches. Very disappointing experience!

It was the best meatball sub I'd ever had. Hot and very tasty. Delivered on time.

I went for the first time here but they just put little bit cheese & then I told them why are you not putting enough cheese then he put more after that I went for payment & they charge for cheese & this happened for the first time all subway franchise not doing this type of thing and they are give 30% off and charging for cheese

EDIT: I have been back since. There were more staff, just as friendly and this time NO WAIT. This shop is NEVER staffed well. Every time Ive gone in there is only 1 staff member trying their best to serve everyone and just eat orders too. Yesterday we were served by Alam (forgive the spelling if I've misspelled his name). He was super apologetic, trying so hard to reassure everyone. He was obviously stressed as a queue was forming and he also had just eat orders coming through but continued to work hard and fast with a smile. 10/10 for Alam and I hope he gets this feedback. The food was as expected at subway, made with care. I understand they may not be the busiest store but Ive NEVER been in and not had to wait ages while 1 staff member stresses out. Absolutely not their fault, rather management "saving money".

Nice sub, exterior a mess, car park needs attention with rubbish and being overgrown, weeds etc. A shame as it's you first impression when visiting. But food good 👍

Decent place....nice couple of indian men,polite and happy.

The footlong meatball sub was great. Only issue was the waffle chips were not crispy and seemed like they were reheated or microwaved. But other than that I enjoyed my food.

we a family of 4, couldn't have had a better meal and service anywhere else this evening. we were late in arriving in clacton and Subway is our favourite. But this Subway was outstanding. Thank you so much .

No cheese, no onions on the sub yet I was supposed to have. not happy.

Went though drive through, when I got home half the filling was missing from the order, crisps missing. Just go in pointless service as we were on customers so no excuse. Update 07/24 got a delivery, and received a tuna sandwich with no tuna, looked up the restaurant on subways website doesn't even exist.

Over an hour late and no way of contacting the restaurant so ended up driving there only to be told the delivery driver must of stole it, shocking service

My sub arrived and it was hard! Had been over toasted and was very hard to eat, There was no cheese or tomato sauce which menu states it should have. What’s happened to subway? Used to be lovely. Won’t be returning.

my sandwich a bit too crispy and burn , less meat and salad , the waffle chips was soaking soft and stuck together , churros are good

Garlic slice had no or very little cheese and was rock hard Very little cheese on the baller very little sauce. Everything was stone cold. The ends of the foot longs had nothing in them so 2 inches was just bread. Very poor meal

They didn’t have a delivery driver to start with then 2 items was missing and then the subs wasn’t toasted or had cheese as asked for. The chicken one was all soggy when it was delivered

No chicken at all what!!! And no change in the till what so ever. Couldn't care or go and get change. Just said right card only know no change unless got exactly the right money. Poor lady in front of us thats all she had. Very bad staff don't want to be there disgusting.

Paid for extra meat in my salad was all cut up tiny to make it look like more .very poor forgot my jalapeños and mozzarella and cheddar cheese . And my cheese cooked bread was cold

My experience was horrible but it wasn’t the fault of the courier but of the subway branch I’m assuming due to the 1 hour long preparation time

Bread was a little hard and not much tuna but got everything else and was nice

Couldn't supply what we wanted as it isn't something they sell loads of so don't have any ready to go however they advertise the product for sale

I only got 2 or 3 meat balls per 6 inch. It wasn't hot and I also paid for pepperoni and didn't get any.

Sub didnt come with any of the extras that were ordered, was missing salad. Nachos came plain with just cheese on them and cheese bites were cold

Missing 2 bags of crisps with our meall, ordered 3 different cookies & only 2 the same turned up. Asked for 3 different breads, given us 3 plain white. absolute shambles. will not be ordering again.

asked for cheese and herb for 1 sub, got hearty Italian. asked for 2 to be toasted with cheese. no cheese in subs. other 2 subs were toasted when didn't ask for them to be.

Absolutely disgusting! My bag was ripped open I said to the driver what’s this and he laughed and walked away. 3 items missing. Did he take them? Did they not put them in? A drink. Cookie and sub missing. The crisps I did get were wrong and I got the wrong sauce in all 2 subs ( supposed to be 3 ). When I phoned them said the numbers wrong and can’t get thru to just eat. Waste of £40!

Rather than the cookie I ordered I got two packets of crisps… if you’ve run out of cookies just put another flavour in take them off being able to be ordered. I feel orders need to be double checked before sent off…..

They forgot many thing off of my order

It was ordered toasted and when arrived you could not even describe it as tepid.

I ordered the meal deal and didn't get the ice cream selected. If not available it would have been fine to swap for something, just call. Anything is better than just charging me for something then not delivering it.

The order time got changed so waited over a hour and the 2 packets of crisps I ordered and paid for weren’t there and I couldn’t contact them to get a refund… won’t be ordering from there again

There was no writing on the subs to let us know which is which, so we had unwrap all of them to know. The big breakwich usually comes with sauce but the sub was dry

Staff were friendly but unorganised

You need to get here at least 2 hours before they close as they will turn you away rather than serve you if it’s an hour before closing. I’ve heard all sorts, “no bread”, “we can’t open any more veg as it will go bad over night”, we’ve run out of fillings”, all absolute rubbish. The truth is that an hour before closing this place is spotless with chairs on the tables. Less than a 20 seconds past the close time all staff are gone. Absolute sham of a place, Franchisee should be ashamed!

Don’t bother. Never write reviews but so bad I had to. Second time ordering from here and yet again awful service. Order was incorrect and missing items again. Sub was wrong bread with no salad or dressing and hardly any filling, salad was disgusting and missing fillings. The nachos and chicken bites didn’t even turn up. Useless!

Dietary guidelines not met gf products should be marked as so, not in with non gluten products, sub roll was rock hard and inedible

My question is how can this Subway even work???? Please don't order from it, they close when they want, they open when they want, they are constantly out of products, they don't fulfill orders from Just Eat or Uber, people wait an hour or more for one lousy sandwich. I was a Subway manager for some time and I know what the products inside should look like in this Subway. The products are marked with old stickers that are replaced with new ones without even washing the old ones!!! The sauce bottles are very dirty!!! Vegetarian cookies mixed with regular ones!!!! If someone is a vegetarian and orders from this restaurant, I really feel sorry for them, I hope that the comments will eventually reach the owner who apparently doesn't care about anything and maybe he will finally do something. Today Subway should be open until 9:00, it's 5:00 p.m. unfortunately it has already been closed because only one person worked all day!!!!!!

They some how managed to completely screw up the order. Wrong bread. Missing Cookie. Wrong drink. Missing sauce for wedges. Missing nachos. Complete waste of money and i will never order from just eat again if a full refund is not issued.

I ordered cheesey nachos and received doritos yes I've double checked what I've ordered and it was nachos not just doritios, I also ordered a footling marina meatball and the whole sub is cold right down to the middle of the meatball, and of course they won't answer their phones

Order never turned up. Restaurant was rude when asked for assistance. Just a complete failure and awful experience. Will not be using again.

Food was lukewarm, cheese bites were squashed, cheese had leaked out - wouldn’t buy these again.

Being completely Honest, would’ve given a 0 star if I could have. Jsut been to the drive-thru and the women on the till was so rude. Firstly took the payment and then came back a minute later saying payment didn’t come through when it was on my bank statement. Got the manager over and was jsut as rude, spoke to me like I was a child. To the point where I was about to drive off without the food due to the awful customer service, made me pay again and to call HR, asked for a receipt for both and refused due to “the receipts didn't print”. Order was wrong and they were adamant I ordered something I didn’t which then I had no patients to argue with the fact it was wrong. Not being funny but that was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Aswell as the food quality was awful like it was thrown together with no care or attention being taken.

All good apart from the delivery of the wrong drink, Pepsi instead of Pepsi max after paying the extra. Quite a difference in drink, disappointed.

Disgusting service. Cookie was just thrown in the bag with no bag separating it from the rest of the stuff. Wrong crisps was sent out. Ordered a chicken and bacon sub with cheese. It was cold, barely any chicken in it. Complete waste of money

2 and half hours late to discover wrong items delivered order taken no notice off no salad wrong sauce bread burnt no cheese no hash brown wrong cookies sent cookies with nuts arrived when allergy absolutely disgraceful servic will never order here again. Everyone should boycott this place

We were very disappointed that the order was all correct. I ordered the cheesy nachos with cheese and salsa and got a spoonful of cheese on the nachos and jalapeños which I do not even like and lucky I wasn’t allergic to them. A note was placed on the bag quoting; “Sorry no Nacho Chicken’ and spicy potato wedges were in the bag which we hadn’t ordered and they were cold.

**UPDATE** Been back recently out of chance, new team and much better food. Believe in second chances and we will be back again. Was awful before but has much improved recently.

Not the 1st time now so won't be ordering again. Not only was its over 30mins late but one meal only received the sub no extras or drink. Even the driver apologised saying he went to collect 3 times and still wasn't ready.

Food I can’t review as I never got that far. 1pm on a Thursday must be a busy time, although with only one car in front of me in the drive-through, I expected a prompt service. Unfortunately, the tannoy wasn’t answered, so I then proceeded to the service hatch where I was greeted with another potential 10 minute waiting time. Obviously, I gave up at this point . My suggestion, here is closed the drive-through because you simply can’t do it correctly . Or employ staff that can do the job….

Would have liked to have given 5 stars based on service, as the staff were lovely. Food was nice and well cooked eggs in the breakwich are to die for. Prices are very reasonable. Downside kids came in shouting and balling which the store can't really prevent just the day and age of little s#+ts with no respect for anyone or anything and 'never my child' parenting. Also toilets were out of order. Hopefully it's just temporary and beyond their control. Downside the store could help was when we got here the store was very quiet yet the tables were filthy food stuck to them ring Marks off cups and crumbs all over.
